Dd so did not want to get up this morning. But it's her last one. And she finishes an hour early too.

I sent dh back to bed. No need for him to do a sainz (car distance) shop with me and his only food 'need' was bread, which I got from sainz for the same price as aldee. And used a 4.50 off 30 voucher.
A lot of poorliness around you - roll on Christmas.
I am surprised at the results from yesterday.
Yep. I stayed up to see the first three seats come in, then went straight to bed at about 11.45, woke up for an hour overnight and scrolled through a live updates thread for a while, so it was just more of the same after that :(

I really did not expect the result that we've ended up with...

Anyhow, dh is much revived. We've even brought the tree inside and it does still fit on the side table we used last year, though the top 4" bend against the ceiling! I don't think you can trim cmas tress - doesn't it make that branch die? Dh has put up the twinkling lights and it is now dd's job to add the decs.

Walked up to meet dd, and she'd had 'the best day ever'. Love it! Now she has 3 weeks + 1 day off. And only 1 project to do.

We are out tonight chez some friends who invite a gazillion people over every year. Dragging dd along too, so we'll not stay too long. It's my 2nd of 3 december proper outings, and only the 3rd one has cost money.

Still no cards written... Tomorrow we have the church nativity rehearsal earlyish (9.30) followed by the youth rehearsal, and dd is involved in both. It may go on long enough to mean that we have to go straight off to dance, so it may be a lonnng time out. Therefore, it might be clever for me to take along some cards, my address book and stamps. And food...

We were home by 8.50 last night. Yay!

I ended up being in the nativity! I have to hold up a sign at irregular intervals (so I need to listen). Then watched dd practice with the band for the youth item.

10 mins after we got home, the amazoon man dropped off 4 parcels. Perfick timing! 1 parcel was dd's ventriloquism puppet and the rest was PA kit that dh needs for cmas events at church. So unexciting...

Dd has danced and I went to the ch shops again. No trousers fitted me (boo), but I found a jacket and scarf for mum and fimo clay for dd's bday (yay). £21 spent.

I feel the need to announce that I have written, enveloped, addressed and stamped 3 cards. Go me!

I forgot to say that dd has stepped in to help with the nativity too - she is the star. Literally! Tho the costume made her looks about 5 years old, so we've added a cape, which improves it 100-fold. And the youth item is a song in which dd starts off playing her ukulele on her own at the very start of the service - so hopefully when everyone's still paying attention - before the 3 singers, keyboard, acoustic + electric+ base guitars and drums all join in. The star of the show. Again!

She's never ever had this much stardom. We are all chuffed.

    Can you tell...?

Dd lived up to being the star of the show and was awesome. :D

And there was a hog roast after church where dd happily sat with her friends and ate her own food - usually she sits in a corner with me. Plus, she wolfed down the gf/df choc log roll + df ice cream that was provided. We are well looked after by the people who cook these things :T.

We came home and flopped a bit while lunch settled, along with the sugar rush.

Then I got up and did a Zuzana workout - Stronger and Hotter - with a sandbag. Followed by a time challenge. It is good to be able to challenge myself like that again. My 42-day Quest is to get stronger, so I'm glad to be progressing there. And once I've had the op, I'll not be able to do much strenuous stuff for 4-6 weeks...

Dd sounds like she's having a whale of a time! And its a good idea for you to get as fit as you can now, before the op - you'll regain your fitness afterwards much quicker. Have a nice relaxed evening now though :)

I'm already ready for bed, karma! If it weren't for the fact that I'd no doubt wake up at 3, I'd happily drop off now...

My last get up tomorrow. Yay! I'm thinking about getting my classes to write a nice thing about each of their classmates and cut it up and pop in an envelope for them to take away. And then do a quiz. Or colouring/wordsearch/puzzles...

The write-a-nice-thing idea seemed to work very well, which has pleased me no end. The first class took theirs away; the 2nd class stayed into their breaktime reading them. My y11s - although the most jokey about doing it - wrote the most for each other; the final class also did it well. And going round the school and playground throughout the day, I didn't come across bits of paper thrown aside. When I left sch, I went past the bus stop where a bro + sis were waiting, and they both had their envelopes out and were showing them to each other. Awww!

The quiz went down well too - as did the bags of sweets for the winning teams...

Tomorrow is a looney mad day for me. 9.30 counselling; 11.30 go to a friend's house; 2.30 dd's orthodontist appt; 4.30 dd + swim; 6.30 meet up for my school meal out. I usually catch the bus for counselling, but will use the car tomorrow as I can park about a 10min walk away, and I'll get home quicker. I'll prob keep to 1 hour with my friend, even tho it's been a few months. Lunch at home and out approx 1.30/1.45 on the bus as parking at the ortho is rubbbbbbish. I think the appt lasts 1 hr, so we'll rush back to go + swim. Then I bring dd home, change and head out again. Not sure whether to drive or get the bus...I may drive and park about 10 mins away. I'm not going posh or fancy at all. Nor am I drinking.

Then on weds, dd and I head to bham to see mum and stay over in the hotel.

And I want to get a workout in tomorrow...

  • I have done my workout. Ooph. An old bodyrock one - Caught stripping fat - using my 10k sandbag and then substituting my 12k and 8k kettlebells for where the sbag didn't work for me + my hands.

Off out in a mo, so best get some shoes on and take a brolly...
