Gosh A*M, it's supposed to be the holidays for you, you know! I suspect you're trying to cram as much in as possible whilst you have this small window of peace and quiet before your proper holiday! You're getting loads done!

Did the buyer for DD's bed show up yet? What a shame you can't get it all sorted before you go away.

By the way, what's a "jiggle free + tabata" when it's at home? Is it what you do when a burpee gets stuck?

You got it in one Hbbb! :T. I am indeedy trying to get things done in the 6-hour window of opportunity currently on offer.

Today was less productive - certainly less painty! But I achieved other things, especially paperwork I'd been putting off.

Finally got the pesky tps thingy to work so I can now look the pension man squarely in the eye tomorrow and say that I have done my research! I have no intention of taking him up on his investment offer, but it gives me something to use for comparisons.

Dd is still awake - really do not know how she manages! Lady about the bed had to postpone till Friday due to work. Dd is now grumpy that her new bed won't get put up before we go. She's quite right too, as the lady is due at 3.30pm on Fri, and we leave on our adventure at 8am on Sat.

Jiggle free is my July exercise plan - if you want to, google 'Jiggle Free July' and the first link is the one to follow. The tabata is a way of exercising where you do 20 secs of INTENSE exercise followed by 10 secs rest. minimum of 8 rounds (so 4 mins). Anything more than 10 mins at this level leaves me a gibbering heap on the floor!

And I am loving my burpees :D. Today I had to do 25, and it'll be up to 60 by the end of the month. Gulp!

Have discovered a good use for the zigzag stitch on the sewing machine. Cut out 2 fleecy trees and 'hem' them together, always remembering to put in the hanging ribbon first! Loving the result - and super quick to make.

Tomorrow's list will materialise by magic in the morning...

Another good day in the bag!

Pension man came and went quickly, so after a quick lick of top of wall and skirting board painting, off I trotted to walk to the diy store. I thoroughly enjoyed the walk as the sun/clouds were pleasingly distributed.

Can't believe I mentioned getting a 10 litre pot of paint! Do you have any idea how much they weigh? Well, Little Miss Anaal here now knows that a 5 litre tub weighs...17lbs. Like my kettlebell, so yesterday's swings were all good practice! I walked back to the nearest bus stop, but then regrouped and walked the mile from where I got off that bus, as I didn't want to pay for another bus journey!

So I did lose an NSD for the paint. And I've not even opened it yet!

I've rung the cottage owner and she reckons it'll be ready by 2pm. Perfect! I'll text her around midday just to check though. Turns out it has 3 bedrooms - I thought it had just 1! So dd and I can have separate sleeping accommodation. The cottage accepts animals and I am stupidly allergic to anything furry, so I'll have a shedload of antihistamine with me. That also means we have to take our own towels - you can hire them at several pounds each, but they'd still be 'doggified/pettified/furrified', so a waste of pennies.

Dh is going to accompany us up to Kings Cross, which is lovely as he can help with the luggage. He keeps suggesting stuff like: you can take my laptop. The reply: there's no internet anyway, and I'd have to carry it, no thanks. I don't think he can imagine that I'm happy to be without multiple devices at my fingertips!

Craftwise, it's has also been a good day. Made 4 hanging hearts which dd helped me stuff - still need final seam stitching up. Then I cut out another 5 while she started her big plan of upgrading the cardboard box that she has refused to throw out for 3 years. This involved removing all the parcel tape from it, then finding another box to replace it! If I can finish all the hearts tomorrow, then I will have hit my July target and anything else is a bonus! Go me!! (would insert a smilie here but since dh 'did something' to the tablet, I can't!)

    On to tomorrow:
    - school runs
    - long circuitous walk to buy eggs (I know it's kind of another waste of an NSD, but I only need 5 more to hit July's target, and I REALLY want eggs for tomorrow and for travelling on Sat)
    - second skirting coat
    - second coat on parts of dd's walls
    - more coats in hall?
    - bed lady at 3.30
    - dismantle current bed
    - assemble new bed ASAP
    - find the monkey toy that has been missing for months, which we were convinced has slipped down the milimetric gap between bed and wall, but which was not there!
    - finish the hearts
    - gather clothes, stuff, toys, BUCKET AND SPADE, food, presents for adventure
    - reduce above piles so I can physically carry it all
    - charge up everything that might need charging
    - smile!

What a night! A humungous thunderstorm with accompanying downpour hovered over us in the middle of the night! The lightning was so bright that it flashed through the cracks in the blackout curtains like a searchlight. And, best of all, dd slept through it all!

It's her final day of term, at last. They still finish at their normal time, so I still have my 6 hour window of opportunity!

Must keep referring back to my list...

Morning school run done - without neighbour's dd. It is a welcome chance to potter along with dd chattering away. It'll be the same this afternoon.

Did the long route to get eggs - went up through the woods and did some running. I kept to the on/off approach because I know I'm prone (especially if I fall over, which is not infrequently!) to go too hard and then suffer later in the day. And today is not a day for wiping muself out! So, paid in cheque, got out cash for hols and bought eggs. Then trotted home without even cracking a single ovoid.

Once home and so smelly and sweaty, I got the Jiggle free out of the way. It was a squat/burpee/russian twist day, so I took my time. It still only took a little over 7 mins.

The skirting has had its second coat, but not the walls as dd has set up her bed for the bed lady and painting would've spoiled the arrangement. And possibly splattered a few toys too.

And no more coats in the hall.

And the washing machine seems to be having a really grumpy day. It may not be redeemable, but at least I only had a small wash OF IMPORTANT THINGS TO TAKE AWAY TOMORROW in there. They have now been rinsed in the sink and are dripping and drying on the line. Thank goodness it's a blazing hot day!

I've started the piles of packing stuff. Dd agreed that I'd choose her clothes, then she would swap them if necessary!!

Time to sew up some hearts...

Bed lady responded to my email - at 6pm - asking if she was still coming, by phoning and explaining her partner had the car and traffic was bad. That's twice she's cancelled last minute or beyond. Grrrrrrrrrrrr. However, there has been no other interest in the bed so I just have to suck it up.

Dd was bitterly disappointed as she had arranged her bed, made a sign, and put on special clothes. So she's now in a very cool bath having a lovely time of it.

Bed lady hadn't realised that dd was still using the bed. D'uh!!!

    Enough moaning.

Packing is practically done and weighs 30lbs. It should come back lighter as some of that is presents (books) and some food items. And a loo roll! Once went to a cottage where there was not a sheet to start you off!

Dd has chosen her clothes for the journey and her rucksack is packed for the train.

My list of food is in my head, just need 15 mins to prep it later. Might do it now...

And set things on to charge.

And I finished EIGHT hearts - go me!

Gosh you got so much done before DD broke up A*M, that's amazing! Well done for smashing all those targets!

    Now then, this ....

    a) You've been weighing your shopping again! :rotfl:
    b) You do realise that if you start calling yourself things like that your thread's going to start showing up on some very dodgy searches! :rotfl:

I know you won't read this till you get back but I hope you're having a lovely break! x

Am back in internet-land! Travelled to big sis this morning and dd is having great fun with dbil's lego so I am free to peruse some diaries.

We have had a wonderful time away. Ok, so the cottage was a tad grimy and all the drawers were full of sets of towels (weird!) and seeing as it allowed dogs, it could really do with a better hoover - I had to keep putting my hand in front of the nozzle to check it still had suction! - and it was incredibly cluttered for such a small dwelling. BUT we had a fantastic time anyway! It was lovely to spend uninterrupted time with dd and we had a game of Monopoly going all week. The nearby beaches were stunning and sandy, and the discovery of a close bouncy castles place was a good find. I never expected to catch the sun up here! We saw lots of my best friend and her kiddies, and my big sis came up 3 times too.

I set a vague budget for the week, to include travel and food and entertainment, and we are under that. But I managed no NSDs. I know some people count holidays as NSDs as it is pre-budgetted, but that seems like cheating to me!

Tomorrow we head back to the big smoke. We have no seat bookings and were unable to get any beyond Leeds (didn't even know the ticket was valid via Leeds!) so it'll be pot luck and probably a couple of changes. Will do my research later.

I'm ready to get back to my own home now! Did absolutely no crafting whilst away - monopoly and reading and being with dd took up my time in a most enjoyable way.

Hbbb - I shall be careful what I call myself now! Thank you for pointing that out - I shall go and edit it now!

Boy am I happy to be back home! In my own bed! With no animal hairs to worry about! Bliss!

Journey down was epic. On 1st train, I got spontaneous applause from the carriage for helping a woman who only spoke French, and who had left her handbag on a previous train. Said bag contained all her money, passports, and all she had was the tickets for the journey. Anyhow, I took her off at York and we went to the info desk. Whilst there, news came through that her bag had been found and a guard was taking it to Kings Cross where she could collect it. We were all mightily relieved - her and her son about the bag (as otherwise they would have had to go to the French embassy and have a load of hassle re passports, etc, just to be able to get home), me because it had all been resolved and I didn't have to just abandon her, and the train people because they no longer had a frantic incoherent lady to deal with!

I've never had spontaneous applause from a group of strangers before, so am feeling well happy about it!:D

Rest of journey was tougher as train to the big smoke was overcrowded. A lovely lady sat dd up on her table and chetted to her and played Peppa Pig on her ipad with her until we got seats. And we were both pleased to see dh who collected us 2 trains later.

Dd currently struggling to sleep. So would I if I was 'singing' so loudly, talking to my toys and rolling around my bed!
