My last week of term has started - due to working in the private sector - phew. 4 more working days left...:D

Dd has her sports day and dh is going, so I don't have to get her up and readytoday.

Jiggle free day 7 already done - 4 mins exactly.

Ths sun is shining. I have a cup of good coffee next to me. Birds are chirping away outside. A peaceful start to the day.

Better eating today, after yesterday's sugarfest! But have a sore throat + oodles of snot. Must add tissues to tomorrow's shopping list!

Dd had a wonderful time at her sports day and loved having her daddy there.

I had a good day at work, and got more 'filing' done into the paper recyc. I also started - with the help of some lovely y9s - to strip the notice boards

After work I came home via the Sally Army shop, to drop off a bagful and collect my £2 stamp. Then I spent £1.99 there, by using up a previous stamp. Technically, therefore, another NSD. :j. Got dd a gorgeous skirt that fits her well. The age? 18-24 months. Dd is 6 1/2! All I can say is that there must be some porky toddlers out there! I read the ticket wrong, you see. It had '6 girl' on it, by the code and I understood that to be age 6. Oops. But dd loves it, it fits her nicely, so all is well.

I got myself 2x 50p bargains too. A white fleece zip-up top to make stockings out of. A bit of ribbon sewn round the top, plus a loop, and it's done.. Not actually sewn fleece before, so a little trial and error will be needed on the machine.

(The robins have been abandoned for now - I need to get another old pillow down from the loft for stuffing them, and also acquire a load of buttons for the eyes.)

The other bargainous item is a tee-shirt, to use to make C Kdst0n style birdies whilst away on hols. I don't reckon the material is machine-sewable, so will enjoy the slower pace of hand-stitching. And if it doesn't work, then I can just abandon!

Dh is around tomorrow, so my usual(ish) focus on crafting won't happen - am a tad miffed, surprisingly, as we've seen very little of each other over the last few weeks, so I should be jumping at the chance to spend some time with him! Fickle ol' me!

The crafting can wait until next week when I shall have already broken up :j:j:j.

Off to lift the lump that is dd once asleep, to transfer her to her high sleeper.

Ah, yes, the bed. A tale for another day, that one!

A big shop has been done. £77.50. Scarily big, in my opinion! And that's not including the bits I sent dh up to sainsbugs to get. Gulp. I reckon about £24 was not necessary - and definitely wasn't on my list.

    Oh well.

I also spent £12 of that on flowers - but got 3 bunches of gladioli gor df's teacher, and 2 gorgeous bunches of roses for a friend's bday.

I'm glad that we're not actually strapped for cash and can absorb this sort of blip.

So, Jiggle free day 8 complete. But no other exercise as am feeling off colour.

Washing done. 3 stockings made - yep, the fleece is peasy to sew up. Cheque paid in, along with £1 of 2ps :D. Stacker boxes bought for work, so I can claim all that back now.

    Still to do:
    -expenses
    -fronter stuff
    -soup
-cakes - dd has a school disco on fri and if I don't make her a cake, no one will arrange anything for her to eat. Last time they wouldn't even give her a drink, 'in case it had gluten in it'. They didn't think to get her some water, grrrrr. AND the drink would have been fine!
-collect dd at normal time, and not forget!
    -maybe make 3 more stockings...

Managed to do everything on the list, except those pesky expenses. Anyone would think I don't want to be paid!

A pottering day as I've been feeling a little under par. But we have finally ordered a new bed for dd. Cheaper than the one we were originally going to get for her, and higher so there's more space to play/store stuff underneath. Dh used a £10 off voucher he had, so it feels like a good buy. Just need somebody to want to buy dd's current bed now...

It has been a full-on but good day. Lots of teaching, but having discovered a 1365 dot-to-dot, I confess to giving that to my y9 and y10 classes!

I had time to re-do the long noticeboard in my room and am pleased with the result. One less task for September!

My 2 new filing cabinets have arrived - a joyous occasion! One is for the new teacher, but the other one is all for me! Now the scruffy old cabinet can be removed.

Still got plenty of sorting, collating, recycling, binning and labelling to do - as well as teaching - by Friday. But once the end of Friday has passed, then the jobs will stop.

Exercise has only consisted of Jiggle free recently, so I'm hoping to get 2x tabata workout in tomorrow.... Watch this space for sweat and burpees.

Today's best event was to get home and find there was a parcel for me from a lovely virtual friend, sending me oodles of gorgeous ribbons to use, plus some stickers for dd. YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE - THANK YOUUUUUUUU!!!

1 more sleep til term is over...:j.

Jiggle free day 10 was done this morning, along with 1 round of the tabata. Started too late to fit another one in and still get dd up, ready, and next door in time for me to get to work on time.

And then I spilt 1 pint of water on the bed. Not on the duvet - oh no, that would have been far too simple to deal with - but on the sheet. So as I'm tearing the sheet up and trying to roll it up to soak up some of the water, I can see the rest in pools that are fast diminishing as they are absorbed by the mattress! At least it was only water, hey! And twas all dried out by bedtime.

Another good day at work, although 2 wet breaks is unfortunate for July. I got loads of display up and ready for September, as well as more streamlining and sorting.

I realised yesterday that the Jiggle free malarkey needs to be accompanied by good eating habits. Have not had a single sugar-free dayin July - so I have removed it from my signature. No need to proclaim that particular failure!

However, I have done a couple of TTs recently, so am feeling good about that.

I shall endeavour to do another tabata workout tomorrow morning. Dd has the final of her school talent contest - she's dancing. After school she has a disco - supposed to be outside! - and I'll be back to collect her. Her cake + drinkfor this are ready in her book bag. She also has the weekly spelling test: she got 15/15 last week, despite only practising 8 of them! She's done 12 this week.

Ooooh. Got a load of paper shifted to recyc this evening. We no longer sit in the room with dd as she goes to sleep, but one of us is in the back bedroom. So I took the opportunity to start going through my (very) old files. I have finally binned my uni notes from 1988! Although I have kept the section about 'Spanish society from 1923 onwards' as it covers the Civil War, a topic I may have to teach at some point, and one which I'm not confident about.

I do still need to return to the shelves and cull some more. If I wouldn't take it with me if we moved house, then I should dispose of it now.

See, I read this as the type of stockings one would wear instead of tights ... took me a mo to remember the Xmas theme, thought of you really getting into warm-leg winter prep!

These seem to be flying by as you count them down! Here's to an end in sight for you! :T

Isn't this the affliction that had you under the duvet last week? Take it easy if you're feeling under par, you don't that teacher's worst affliction: being sick in holiday time"

Hi Hbbb, I had to giggle at the thought of wearing fleecy stocking! But I could see how my description lent itself to legwear as opposed to tree decorations!

Dd is all better from scooter scrapes, thanks. She has a myriad of bruises on her legs - may do a dot to dot on them one day...

:j I have finished work until September 1st :j. I am mostly relieved as a particular colleague has moved on. It was a lovely day and a good end to my 4 days a week. Roll on 3 in Sept!

    This weekend, we need to:
    - tidy the back bedroom
    - empty dd's bedroom
    - dismantle dd's bed and store it in the back bedroom ( need magical shrinking spell for this)
    - paint most of dd's walls white
    - paint on the other 5 (!) colours she wants
    - assemble dd's new bed, due on Weds

In between dismantle and assemble, dd will sleep on the mattress on the floor.
