Thank you sweet daisy and Hbbb!
After sleeping through much of the day, I went to bed at 8pm with dd and was probably asleep before her!
So I shall return to work and take it gently. The new MFL teacher is coming in today, and I'd rather not cancel her. Plus, it isn't a heavy teaching day - and there's always the 3 Asterix dvds to watch....

I survived the day but was extremely weary! And I got sent/allowed home at lunchtime :j. Except I wasn't doing leaps, more a wan smile. But it was good to be able to collect dd and spend time with her. I think the 'tired mummy' is losing its novelty factor...
But she did make her own toast soldiers, doing everything herself. So she feels super proud of herself. And she is now asleep. Bizarrely, I didn't fall asleep with/before her, so got up to make myself more tired. I have a host of stuff whizzing round my head. Being on the computer probably won't help, really...:D
And I HAVE EATEN some proper food at last. After 2 days' food comprising a total of 2 apples, 4 mint humbugs, some jellybeans, a few cashews and a few grapes, plus water and black coffees, I actually felt like eating rice. So I have. Dh did some carrots too. Go me - carbs AND veg. Tilly and her meals have nothing on me!
Dh has to work tomorrow, again. Boo hiss.So dd and me are doing dance then charity shops with lunch in a corner of a coffee shop. I have a list of ch shop 'needs', which of course is meaningless to dd!!!!!! But there are pennies in the pot, so it's not like I have to be stingy.
Back off to Nod - hopefully a short journey.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -
Sounds like you've been through the mill. Hope you feel much improved today and have a good night's sleep.
Your DD can be chief toast soldier maker from now on :T

Dd and I survived dance :j. She loves it once there but can be a right pickle getting in there.
I was awake early enough to say goodbye to dh - rather a silly time for a weekend, but I was awake so thought I probably should!
Took dd to the charity shops for a good trawl and spent about £21 on both of us. £8.50 got me a pair of shoes, a dress and a top; £12.30 got dd 2 books, a doll, a Hell0 Kitty toy (which we saw in a nearby new-things shop for £7, so feel well smug), yet another Bui1dabear, a huge My not-so-Little P0ny, a Polly Pockt house and 2 soft toys. Plus £3.05 in Strbcks. Rather a big spend, but I had the pennies to do so.
The rule is 'one thing in, one thing out' but dd has been so good recently at giving away her stuff that she finds it hard to find anything she no longer wants or is willing to part with. Poor thing! She would like to give away her school spelling sheet :rotfl:.
I am officially on the mend now. I did get very weary when out trawling, but we only had 1 more cs before stopping, so twas doable.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -
Another 3 robins completed today. I sewed up their bottoms while dd was at ballet and have just attached their button eyes. Buttons I picked up for the princely sum of 20p for 10 of them. Yay!
I've also unpicked a toddler top - white with colourful butterflies - cut out the whole butterflies and 5 of them are ready to be stitched to a white backing. The hanging bit is pinned in (this is the item I'm finding hardest to source in the charity shops - thin ribbon, or binding) and they are ready for the machine tomorrow. They'll be stuffed but won't have lavender as it would show through the white. Anyhow, for the 40p the top cost me, plus £1 for the binding, I can make about 18 butterflies! I'm so lucky that a local area has charity shops with cheap bits and bobs, and kiddies clothes at 3 for £1.
Dh doesn't expect to be home before 10pm, but didn't mention having to go back there tomorrow, so I do hope he won't have to. He needs a day off!
I think I shall skip church as I am still so weary. There's a BBQ in the afternoon, as a farewell for one of the helpers at Kids Klub, as she's off to uni. Dd will want to go - me too - but I can't face the complications of keeping a BBQ gluten free at the house of someone I don't know well. So we'll lunch at home and then go.
Must do a money shuffle soon as I was paid yesterday. Will split it between savings and mortgage this month. Just 2 more months of being able to do this, then the amount will halve. But will still be overpayments, so still good.

Morning, how about using the extra loop tags that so many manufacturers put into the shoulders of ladies clothing. I'd be happy to collect them and send to you and I'm sure others would too.
Let me know if they may be suitable.
Hope you get a restful day.

Thank you, Tilly! I'd love that!
I used to have lots of these but used them up on making hanging trees for dd's class 2 Christmases ago. And I've bought so few clothes since then that the 'loop stash' is low.
Hoping for a peaceful day - am already worn out from just being up! And would rather go back to sleep...NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -

I'm back on the sofa under the duvet. Managed 2 loads of washing, and some hoovering - thought I really should do the bathroom as I'd knocked over a glass there during Weds night's antics and although it fell and smashed into the bath, bits might have flown further afield. Now, we've been walking there barefoot since then and not cut ourselves, but I figured I really needed to do it!
So then I did the stairs and the rug downstairs.
Then I collapsed onto the sofa. I'd like to be watching the athletics (how dare Wimbledon have a day off!) but dd wanted 'Barbie presents Thumbelina' so she won!
Off for a snooze.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0
