Dd took a tumble yesterday evening off a scooter and whalloped her knee. I was glad it wasn't her head - or collarbone!!

So, she was pretty delicate this morning and in the end we didn't go to church. Instead we have had a lovely morning pottering around. Dd has started on her own tidying, sorting and re-homing of toys, but is still at the 'all out, all over the floor while I play with things I'd forgotten I had' stage.

I, on the other hand, have descaled the upstairs loo and cleaned the upstairs sink, downstairs loo and sink. I've also cleared a bunch of boxes for recycling and generally streamlined and tidied the floor by the patio door. It's also been swept but that never lasts long!

I have followed up some exam board paperwork, and posted 3 items for sale on different sites, washed up, done a whites wash, exercised (plennnnnty of burpees in this one) and generally been a lovely mummy.

From my vantage point as I write this, I realise just how much more tidying is required if it is to be fit to welcome the pension's guy on Tues! Best get going...

Thanks, Goldie, she just has quite an impressive bruise to show for it. It's not stopped her leaping around today.

I don't seem to have done much more of note than at my last posting. We did get the floor visible again and build a den, so it was all time well spent.

I was thinking that I'm well on with sewing things, then I saw the date! Oops. Yes, I am on target, but to reach the 100 day number, then I need to exceed what I've written. Or simply put a higher monthly goal! If I can stitch up 3 tomorrow, then I'm ahead and the next job will be cutting out robins.

I shall also use some of the double duvet cover to try my hand at tote bags. I realise that chocolate brown (or batchelor brown!) isn't necessarily a 'nice' bag colour, but if it works, then I can add embellishment.

Workwise, the y10s are out on work experience this week. So a bit less work for a few days. Not that it's too tough, anyway. We need to spend the rest of our departmental budget soon, which is a very nice 'issue' to have to deal with.

I got my reports all done - of course! I'm one of those people for whom a deadline IS a deadline and I don't expect it to be extended. So am pleased I got them all done. :D

Day 4/14 of new eating plan and all is well. Out of the 6 of us at work, 2 have given up, 2 are going really well, 1 is unknown and then there's me! Down 3lbs since the start and I hope to get under 10 stone by the end.

3lb in 4 days? Well done! I suspect all that burpee business is your secret weapon!

Oh no! Glad she's OK, knees are great for breaking falls! I swear she sounds like my youngest ... not a month went by without some kind of major bump!

Is the pensions man related to Aggie and Kim perchance? ;)

 Absolutely agree ^^^ my life is ruled by deadlines and I'm almost OCD about meeting them, largely due to the fact that if I miss one it will impact on others. The strange thing is that this, just like being on time for things, is something I'm so strict with for myself, yet I'm easily forgiving of others who have a reason to be late or a little behind on something (except when I was teaching of course, given 'em an inch and all that)!

Well done for getting clear of them all, sounds like you had a good weekend too ... hope you were able to make the most of having Mr. A*M around for a bit too, shame he's having to work a bit on the weekends but, as you say, it'll bring July around a bit quicker!

Have a good week ahead! x

Ha ha! If only - it's since a few weeks ago.

Now I'm going to smirk and giggle when I see him:D!

Have lived my life by the bell and am like Pavolv's dog! If I am not there / ready to start/ ready to finish/ ready to leave then the ensuing chaos is not pretty. I get rather miffed when other 'professionals' don't play by the rules!

Anyhow, off to do some sewing - go me the dedicated professional :rotfl:.

And double go me for doing the Hbbb special of inserting quotes within quotes :D. Can't usually do it as I'm on the tablet, whereas I have a 'proper' computer here.

Twas a very nice day at work today.

Turns out no other 'professionals' bothered to educate my sixth former last week so the mummy called the Head to inform that I was the only one of her child's teachers prepared to do so. I don't kmow how people thimk they can get away with it - it's not as if it is an extra, just a return to a previous commitment. Grr and ya boo hiss to 'othrrs' who are lazy.

I, personally, had been looking forward to the opportunity to get started on the A2 stuff.

    Harumphing over :D.

I got 1 heart sewn up at work and 2 more at home, so tomorrow is a designated cutting out day!

The gumbush came good - enquired (how is that different from 'inquired'?) after a bike for dd and went to collect it today. Anothrr online site means I may have sold dd's bike too. Result!

Pension man comes tomorrow. House nearly presentable - seats available on both sofas, toys not strewn all over floor, knitting mountain hidden and big table surface visible for putting papers on. I know what info I want from him - it's a free consultation - so he'd best know the answers!

Even better, lovely to be recognised!

Enquired = tends to be used for general enquiries! I enquired about the cheapest way to travel to Dorset etc.
Inquired = more specific and especially used for more formal inquiries .. a Home Office inquiry etc.

However, the inquiry version is much more prevalent in the US and what with US-speak seemingly taking over the planet, enquiry and inquiry now seem to be used almost interchangeably in the UK, not good for the purists, I can tell you, they should hold an inquiry into it!

Can you ask him if I should invest my forgotten bank account pounds into pension too please? I want to get the best from my £2.48!

Seriously, hope you get the answers you need x

Last night dh asked me what I was doing today, and either his eyes glazed over or he was quite impressed by the list!

    -exercise at some point
    -school runs
    -9.30 pension man
-12 ish sell bike - hopefully
    -food shop
    -bank
    -make soup
-make cakes - dd has a party on Friday
    -wash up
    -sweep
-mark final candidate for board and do ensuing paperwork
    -lots of cutting out
-take dd out on her 'new' bike - has no stabilisers so attentive mummy required

The funny thing is, the above is a 'light' list!

Have done everything except bank and take dd out, as she's not home yet!

Saw the pension man and now have some research to do myself. Don't want to sign up to anything I have to pay for! The realisation is that if I pay £200 pcm into 'something' for the next 14 years, I will have a pot of over £33k. That is not to be sneezed at!

Sold dd's little bike for a fiver. The mum was so pleased not to have to pay a lot, and I may let dd have the money to spend at her school fair on Sat.

Have done the stray candidate and sent off the mark. Realy MUST put in my expenses claim!

Did a burpee-free workout for once! It involved squats, pistols, push-ups, russian twists, windscreen wipers and saucers. All with a 3k dumbell.

The shopping today just filled the rucksack and a canvas shoulder bag. It was still pretty heavy, but more manageable. I've texted dh a list of particular heavy things for him to buy on his way home with the car.

My sewing machine will not sew today. I have absolutely no idea what I've done/not done. It's something to do with the bobbin and the thread feed down to it. But I've changed the bobbin and the thread, put back the ones I took off, and tried all sorts of combinations. All to no avail!

Anyhow, 6 robins are cut out with red chests and ribbons, all ready to be sewn. Hope I don't end up having to do it by hand....

Hbbb - haha to the firebell! The last time it went off, a visiting examiner had just finished an AS Italian oral, and the alarm started just as she pressed the stop button!! Poor woman!

I think the best return for your £2.48 is some lettuce seeds... :D

Am enjoying the tennis from Eastbourne. Azarenka v Giorgi. A very close match and very enjoyable to watch. Don't think I'll be wearing any lycra like they are for my school sports day in a few weeks! :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

The sewing machine has flummoxed dh too. He's taken it apart and put it back together, to no avail. So I'm back to hand sewing! I completed 1 robin today, which dd has claimed, so it must be good.

But slow. And I need good light to stitch.

However, I have 6 cut out and pinned ready, so I shall persevere :D.

I've had another really nice day at work. I do work with some great kiddies and they are working well for me.

Did a work experience visit this afternoon and it all went well, including finding a FREE parking space. I popped into a nearby ch shop but failed to spend, so I can claim another NSD :T.
