Thanks XSpender
.
I had my appraisal today and was hugely complimented on lots of things, which was just so lovely.
I had a letter from the hernia guy, summarising my visit, where he described me as a 'delightful xx-year-old woman'. I'll take that!
I had to attend a data-protection training session at the end of the day. I finish work at lunchtime, so I meandered into town and got a few bits including a quick liddle visit. Then I sat on a bench in the park and read a book and munched gf biccies until it was time to return to work. Very civilised!
Dh is currently trying to tune dd's ukelele and dd is cutting out a flamenco dancer.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -
Absolutely - very civilised, and very pleasant2023: the year I get to buy a car0

Got myself all confuddled at the petrol pump today. None of them said 'unleaded'. It was nowhere to be found. Then another driver told me that it is now just 'petrol' as they can't sell leaded fuel any more. Who'da thunk it!
Work is finished for the week. Yay.
Got zwow #14 done early this morning, and am now glad that I got it over and done with first thing. Only had time for 15 mins, but managed 3 rounds in that time.
Dh took some bits to the cex shop and ca$h c0nverters today and did ok. A few more things out of the house...NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -
Great news re the appraisal and what a lovely thing to do for a neighbour. Can I move next door?Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became

Ooh, I'd love you to move next door! (Just don't bring all your brambly rooty weedy thingies with you...!)
Unfortunately, both sides are inhabited. Boo.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -
Took dd to school this morning. She's done really well to make it through to Friday but needs plenty of TLC.
Dropped a reply slip at thr dr's, forgot to make an appt, did a sainz shop with a lovely 8 off 40 spend and dh came to meet me to help carry it home.
Got zwow #15 done and dusted - 15mins = 3 rounds + 6 floor to ceiling.
Then discovered the rugby world cup was starting. Yay! :jThe 'record the series' button has been pressed, as some of the times are a little unsociable.
And made myself a rice-bag-thingy to do my needlefelting on. It's much heavier than the spongey thingy, but the spongey thingy is so used that it's coming apart and blue spongey bits in a white creation ain't the look I'm going for...:rotfl:. It took all of 10-15 mins to choose a pillowcase, cut off a corner, sew most of it up, tip rice in via a funnel, and sew up the gap. Go me :T.
Made a breakfast bar based very loosely indeed on a paleo recipe. I mushed up 2 very ripe nanas and added in a whole bunch of crushed up nuts and seeds, some dried cranberries, sultanas, a few fresh rasps, some frozen blueberries and thickened it up with ground almonds. Baked it for about 15 mins. Yummy. No added sugar apart from what was on the cranberries. And completely not the original recipe apart from sunflower seeds and nuts!
Dd will be rushing home from school (I hope), to go to a youth event at church. It finishes as 6 and there's another youth event after, but that finishes around 9/9.30 which is far to late. It'll also be too loud for her. So the early one is best, and I can try out my needlefelting rice bag thingy while I'm waiting for her.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -
Very much admire your sewing skills, Apple. I still remember getting my report at the end of my first year of senior school which said that my sewings skills were well sub-standard! (Although I still have the spotty pencil case I managed to assemble on the sewing machine!) Must be really useful to be able to run things up just like that. I can now manage a button and other very simple tasks!Choose kind0

This just needed straight seams, hazelnutty - nowt fancy! The one I copied it from had a zip and cost £9, before adding the rice. Mine was a corner from a 50p pillowcase and rice I'd previously used for weighing something down, so was unfit for cooking anyway.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0
