Up and out just before 7. Ugh. But I have had a good day. Lots of catching up with the kids, enjoyable lessons, putting a little more order into all my papers. And a working copier - yay!
But my feet don't half ache. I think it's the footwear, so they'll soon be leaving the house on their own to find a new owner.
However, I got the wii out as soon as I was home, and did 20 mins. Not hard stuff, but something.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -
Ooh, I slept so well last night!
Did ZWOW #4 - new and improved again. 20 mins got me through 2 of the 3 rounds, and that was enough for me.
Took dd to update her bs account book and pay some more in. Also dropped off 3 old pairs of sandals in the Variety club recyc bin thingy. We also have 2 bags ready for the Sally Army - it just needs me to be driving that way... Prob on Thurs.
Took dd swimming and did over 30 lengths myself. I lose count so easily! We managed to resolve the prob of her lesson time being too early for her to get to once she starts school. And the teacher just 'moved her up' to the next class, half an hour later. But she'll still be working at the right level. What a lovely teacher!
Sent a few emails; did some work admin; did a wash; made tea.
All in all, a good day has been had.:DNST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -
Another good day. :j
Up and out early for work, and stayed a bit at the end to do stuff. It was a good day at work for various reasons.
Home and straight into zwow #5. Only a 12 min amrap. Phew. Managed 5 rounds, using lightish weights.
Meandered up to dd's sch at the end of her day and chatted to another mum, dd's form tutor, the head, and a dep head re dd cycling to sch. Currently, no one cycles in - apart from some staff - so he's going to check it out, see where dd + her friend can lock up their bikes, and let us know.
I may have a little extra work on fri, but it may not happen. I'll be happy either way.
I've worked out how to needlefelt a santa :T.
I have sold our old futon, which is very pleasing. It is being collected tomorrow. It will then mean there is much more space in the back bedroom to move more of dd's stuff in to.

The futon is now being collected on Mon, but it is dismantled and ready to go.
I did indeed have an extra day's work today. And boy, am I tired out!
Did zwow #6 yesterday and 20 mins of wii fit today. I am doing the body test every few days as I'm hoping it'll keep me on track better.
Dd was exhausted yesterday as she did swim club/team trials after school, and we had tears at bedtime. Today there was the possibility that she'd try out for the gymnastics/dance team. But I'm glad she realised that she doesn't really want to be in the team, so she just came home.
Yesterday I took 2 bags to the Sally Army and did a liddle shop. Tomorrow I'm sending dh up to sainz, and I need to get baking. Dd is going away on a residential next week and I'm sending all her food along. So I shall ensure that she will have plenty, and won't go hungry as she did in y6...
Dance starts back up tomorrow. Classes are 30 mins later than before, so it finally feels like it is an afternoon activity rather than something that we have to base the whole day around. Hopefully they will (eventually) tell us when the exams are, as they are supposed to happen in Sept, postponed from June, already paid for for June... Honestly, their communication skills are rubbish. They do seem to assume that you have no life apart from dance and have no need to plan ahead... An examiner must have been booked, so why not let us know when for, eh? It is so frustrating!NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -
What ?? You have a life other than dance? Have you no committment AppleMade it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became
In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!0 -

They are dd's classes, by the way. Not mine! 30mins each of ballet, tap + freestyle. Tap is last. There are lots of dancers in a smallish room, all clackety-clacking. Many not listening to the teacher. Who doesn't get them quiet to explain things to them. dd really struggled in it today, and sat out of much of it. I'm just pleased that she actually stayed in the room!
No dance exam date yet. From talking to the teacher, it seems that it's not even booked yet... It may happen in Oct, near 1/2 term... Yeah, right...
And we got dd's certificates today, from her last exams - in Feb. Sigh.
Zwow #7 was done this morning for 20mins. Dd emerged as I finished - at around 9.30. She'd slept for nearly 12 hours!
Lemon drizzle cake and choc chip df cookies (recipe originally from lilty) have been made, to go away with dd next week. Sounds like she'll have a good 'tuck box' like the Mallory Towers girls.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -
Oh I see! Sorry! Yep, the tap classes sound like they're going to be *loud* ouch. And you have to have good discipline, especially with tap, or Spanish (same issue with noise, cos of the castanets). When it's paired with kindness, there's no better mix - I was very, very lucky with my dancing school, so close to me geographically and so well respected. Dd is nearly all packed. And the food is nearly all sorted. It has taken a very l o n g time... Still some bits to do in the morning - very early, as we're leaving at 5.30. Ugh.
I am weary. Was feeling all overwhelmed earlier, but time spent on all the cooking and subsequent packing of food, and time spent on sorting out some of my appraisal paperwork was time well spent. Still very weary though.
I admit that I'm not looking forward to the week ahead. Not just because dd's going away (though mostly because of that), but also because work will probably still be heavy (my own ttable plus either teaching the classes or setting the work for a colleague whose dad has just died) meaning that I get to teach but not get the frees.... Oh well.
So,the alarm is set for 4.45...!NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0
