  • So, not a soggy day. Yay! But a super mild one.

I had a pretty good day at work, and did some extra this afternoon. The 2 lessons were lovely and well worth the extra pay!

Did a shedload of marking/checking books, as we have an open morning on sat. So am feeling smug there, as I often forget to get pupils' books in for it. Still got one more set to get through but plan to do that first thing tomorrow.

Dd went to sainz after sch with friends. Not that she spent anything herself, but I'm pleased she felt able to potter round with others. It also meant that I was home before her, which she likes.

We are keeping afloat re the hwk, just. And getting some semblance of a pattern in place...

  • Today I am trying not to be judgemental towards somebody and am finding it surprisingly hard to do!

But work is finished for the week. Phew. (Though I have to go back in for Sat, 8-1 ish. Boo and hiss)

So I went to the gym after work and did a zwow that states 'go heavy' when choosing the weight to use. So I used 8k dumbells. And enjoyed the 3 rounds (13m29) and even thought about doing more. But now.... Boy can I feel it! Am v glad I stopped when I did!

Dd is doing ok but dh now feels poorly.

  • Zwow #19 looks nice and easy. How deceptive appearances can be... I managed 4 of the 5 rounds and am feeling v pleased with that.

Dh is better ish. He tried to take it easy today.

I went to a macmillan coffee morn at dd's school - v out of my comfort zone, not knowing anyone. But it was nice. And I made some gf/df lemon fairy cakes at 6.15 to take along! I also cancelled a dr appt, did a sainz shop (3 off 20), got aldee bacon and was back home before 10.

Lunchtime saw me meet a friend in c0sta for a good old natter and catch up. Dd didn't have a rehearsal after sch, so she pottered home and did some ukelele, ate a v early tea, mended a felted snowman's nose and a sylvan1an dress, wrote a card, and off we toddled to a bday party. For just over an hour. She loved it and I got another good natter with the mum.

We are now chilling out and reading before bed. Dh has said that I can have the car tomorrow (he and dd will get the bus to dance), which means that I can leave just before 8 rather than 7.15. And I can wear my 'posher' clothes rather than have to carry them with and change when I arrive.

  • If I had to spend 5 hours at sch on a sat, I'd spend it with the people I was with today. It was all very lovely. Although I'd much rather not go in at all...

Naturally, I was very glad to get home! Came via liddle - twas rather busy, but we needed what I bought.

Have since watched some recorded rugby, requested a refund for the dance exams (supposed to happen in sept...), booked a hotel room for fri night for visiting mum (the airbnb place wasn't available this time - boo - but it's my first choice for next time), and sent some messages to people.

  • I have had a v lazy day. And I needed it. I was still up at 6.45, but that is an hour later than all last week.

I did do zwow #19, and managed all of it. Go me. It was under 14 mins. Zwow #20 is the one where I previously wrecked my big toe doing the ninja jumps so I shall modify that exercise when I get to it.

I watched rugby and cycling and was super happy to be indoors and warm and dry.

Dh took dd to church and they went to icyland after, to use a 5 off 20 voucher. Dd now has a 1.4kg tub of jelly beans!

I checked my payslip and it is very nice. A slight rise anyway because I'm teaching a little more; plus the extra day and a half I did the other week.

  • Made it to the end of the month. Yay!

Colleague is still signed off, so I may get a little extra work in the 3 weeks until half term. I know that the extra things I'm doing (looking after the supply teacher, checking on progress, doing the interim grades/effort reports, setting work if nec, teaching extra) are being appreciated, which is good. I have to take it easy though, as it's so simple to overdo it and end up rather frazzled.

October is set to go. I'm going to be a mudman, spearing frogs and living a simple life :rotfl:. Well, that's the plan...

We should be having the front windows replaced, which will involve moving rather a lot of furniture out of their way. And then back again.

I'm going to see mum at least once and the first visit will entail taking my niece's laptop with me (quite a hefty piece of kit), to then drop off with the friends that big sis usually stays with when she goes there.

Dd and I have 2 weeks for half term, so might go away for a few days...

Exercise, meditation, reading and counselling all have their numbers. And swimming, dance, bags to the ch shop.

Today has been a good day.

Got up early (but was only woken by the alarm clock, for once). Did a 10 min zwow. Went to school with dd on the bus and then walked back. Saw my counsellor and walked/bussed back home. Then chilled until dd came home, went swimming, dropped dd home, went out to sixth form info eve, got home by 8pm.

Dh and I put up 2 strips of wallpaper, where we'd removed it to check on the now-not-damp corner in what will one day be dd's room...:T

I did 26 lengths of the pool. Was going to stop at 24, but decided to do a couple more.:T

Found some photos of my abs an arm/shoulder muscles from about 2012. They were pretty awesome! :rotfl:

Dh reminded me that he has an endowment maturing in dec, and it may pay off the mortgage :D.

Dd and I have a table at her school fair :T.

I may have more teaching next year... Yep, rather early to be planning:rotfl:

Well that was a productive day. I really want to get back into home workouts but with one thing after another I'm not quite there yet.

I much prefer home workouts over going to the gym, Cath. I got into it when dd was little, as getting out to the gym was such a bother. And my 'local' gym is rather a dive with no room to swing a cat. So unless it is empty, or you are only using the squat rack or bench, it's a struggle as the meatheads all stand preening themselves in front of the mirrors doing bicep curls...! In that case, I go to the 'stretch room' and use the kettlebells.

I plan to hit the gym tomorrow after work, around 2pm. Simply because I've paid me subs so want to get me money's worth!

I did indeed hit the gym. Ooph. Did my workout in the stretch room - no mirrors, a thick non-slip mat. It took me 20 mins exactly. It looked deceptively simple on paper, but zwow #22 is a toughie.

Work was nice and I got lots done.

Dh and I have manoeuvred dd's chest of drawers thingy with shelves on top into the back bedroom. Another step closer to getting her in there fully.

And another step closer to the window men being able to reach the windows on Monday!

Dh managed to wipe all the pre-set recording timers on the telly the other day. He is jolly lucky that the rugby highlights for the matches that had not recorded were yet to be broadcast.

I am trying to 'push it' every day in some area of life: pushing the exercise, working extra, spearing some frogs. It's not supposed to be something that stresses me out, but thus far it is doing me good.

Off to visit mum tomorrow; and back on Sat. WSM downloaded to entertain me along with wool and stuffing and needlefelting kit too. I'm staying in the hotel - airbnb wasn't available this time - but will do a workout in the room rather than have to take kit so that I'm decent in public!
