WSM? Can't think what that is! Do tell
World's Stronget Man :rotfl:
Have watched the finals from the mid/late 70s onwards. In order of course! Done the Geoff Capes era, now awaiting Marius Pudzianowski to appear on the scene... I guess it's a niche interest...!NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -
Thanks for that! I have plenty of niche interests myself2023: the year I get to buy a car0

We were up and at 'em by 9. Primarni for us while dh hunted in vain for gf b'sticks. We spent nigh on £80 (gulp), but under £18 of it was on dd, the needy one! She got slippers, socks, jeggings, a l/s tee shirt and a zip-up hoodie. I got jamas and a tee shirt. Step dd got HP jamas + paw patr0l socks for gs (all for cmas). Dh got socks and a set of stretch band thingies.
I spent £5 on 10 candles from the t1ger shop. Dh asked the 1kea kitchen place about 3x4 cubes, but they had none. Pr3t served us well for under £4 (2 coffees in our own mugs, mango, babyccino). Dh got to mooch in cex and w1lko, and we all pottered around the £ shop. And we got back to the car before the free parking ran out at 12. Go us!
We were all pleased to get home and miss most of the pelting rain.
Post-lunch was time for sorting... I swapped over the contents of dd's old wardrobe with her new one. She and I went through some storage boxes and got rid of some stuff. She put some things 'away' in their place in her room. And enough space was cleared for dh and I to be able to clear the 4x4 cube unit and shift it into the front room and refill it. Ooph.
Tomorrow dh and dd are off to 1kea, lucky them (:rotfl:) to purchase a 3x4 cube unit. And maybe a new drawer runner thingy for the one that broke. I get to stay home, lucky me (:j), to await the door men, due after midday. I have a big list of things to do, as ever :rotfl:.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -
Dh and dd were successful in 1kea, although dh managed to buy nylon nets. Ugh. They will be going back... We do need new nets at the front of the house (ripped ones isn't a great look), and dd needs new curtains/black out things for her room, and dh forgot to take the drawer runner to ask about a replacement.
And the door men came and fitted our lovely new front door. It has much more glass in it than the old one, and I keep thinking that the door's open, as the hall is so much lighter!
I went off to some safeguarding training this morning, came home for lunch and then took dd to dance. Meanwhile, dh built her unit, which now houses a host of syl fam buildings. And I got to watch WSM (Mariusz has appeared :T:T:T) andneedlefelt while she danced.
I have been through my stash of wool and fabric, and got rid of quite a lot - about 1/2 of the fabric and maybe 1/4 of the wool. Am feeling rather smug. I now need to do a couple of ch shop runs, so that it doesn't sit around the house for weeks. I'm currently contemplating Mon at 9am: about 4 bags for the Sally Army and a big box of books for 0xfam.
I do feel as if we are getting on top of some of the clutter. Phew.
Ooh, very pleased about today's rugby score.

And I found some gf breadsticks, so we now have 10 packs! Only took 6 buses!NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0

So I decided to give some of the items for the ch shop a quick wash, as they were rather musty. Just as well I did as 2 items turned out to have been chopped up a bit by me already! One will go into rag recyc and I may just chop the other one up a bit more for lavender bags... Just need to unearth the sewing machine now...
I've been to church, watched the rugby, taken 2 pairs of footwear to the shoe bin.
And dd and I still have another week off.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -
5.45 - when I woke up
7.27 - when dd woke up
8.15 - when dh woke up
So I got in my meditation, a workout and a shower before having to talk to anyone else. Result!
Dd and I took 4 bags plus a bag of rags to the Sally Army and a bag of books to 0xfam. I forgot my purse and phone so we couldn't do the planned liddle shop. But we have at least cleared some floor space downstairs.
We had a lovely lunch with some friends and dh sorted out three different people's computers today, go him.
I've written up the November turtle challenge but will come back to it tomorrow to see if it needs a tweak before posting it live. I wasn't feeling particularly inspired for this one...NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -
8.10 was today's waking time so I guess I needed it. Am still fighting off a cold/lurgy thingy, the one from several weeks ago that keeps resurfacing. Harumph. And dd is definitely poorly so has had a jama day. She did manage to sort some syl fam stuff and start a piece of hwk though. But missed swimming, which is a good measure of her level of poorliness.
I got an aldee shop done this morning and included some basics for my neighbour, along with some choc biscs and sweets.
Tweaked the NST: November challenge until I was happy with it, and that is now up and running. It's titled YESvember :rotfl:.
We plan to hit 1kea tomorrow, for all sorts of curtains - nets for 2 windows, normal curtains for 3 and black out blinds or similar for 1 or 2. But only if dd is well enough...
Went through some 'postponed-opening' post and recycled 90% of it. I don't like opening post so put it off, and then it sits there getting in the way and accusing me of not opening it. Maybe next month I'll commit to opening it on the day it arrives...
Went through another bag of fabrics. 90% of that went into fabric rag recyc. Ridiculous! But all my craft supplies have now been gone through. Phew.

We have survived 1kea. Phew. We came away with nets for the 3 windows at the front of the house; curtains for dd's room and our room; door mat (new door sits a smidge lower than the old so the old mat can't be used); new hall runner (old one supposedly washable, but doesn't fit in a wash machine and scrubbing it in the bath is ineffective); and a warm duck feather/down duvet for dd. And a plant for dh... 150. Gulp.
Dd's new curtains are shortened and up - even double thickness, they'll need the fleece 'linings' from her old room to darken them.
Her new duvet is on her bed.
The mat and runner are down in the hall - dh even washed the floor!NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -
October has been a good month - helped enormously by having a 2-week half term :rotfl:.
17 NSDs, 25 meditations, 22 exercise sessions. Bags to the Sally Army, books to 0xfam, donations to foodbank and neighbour.
Front of house windows and door all replaced and the difference is massive. Nets and curtains bought as needed, and current ones either get re-used or ragged or charity shopped.
Dd's bedroom and the back room have finally been swapped over. Though sorting all her gubbins is a long-term task...
Sorted through all my craft stashes and found so much dross!
Only 1 visit to mum as I thought dd would come with me for a 2nd, but she's not been up for it.
All money off vouchers from sainz have been used - most helpful that they only involved spending £20 each time.
I have worked extra - wouldn't want to do that long-term.
We opened a bs account for dd.
Dd is getting into the youth events at church.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0
