A sooooopreeeeemely lazy day.
Dd has managed to pack almost all she'll need for her school journey onTues.
I've done a smidge more marking. And a workout.
And I remain ridiculously excited about tomorrow's gym induction...:D
Bank accounts are looking well and the mortgage is under 15,500. I was hoping for 15 by the end of the year but it seems that'll easily be reached.
Forgot to go to a party last night. Realised about an hour after it started (it still had 3 hours to run) but opted to not go. I do feel a little guilty as it was a leaving bash for some work colleagues, in particular one who has been a rock and a very good friend. But not so guilty as to want to get dressed and go out at 8pm. I'm such an early bird!
No school tomorrow :j. But a rather long list to plough through. I think dh will go one way and I'll go the other. And hopefully have it done so I can laze in front of the tennis...NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -
That mortgage figure is looking great!apple_muncher wrote: »Forgot to go to a party last night. Realised about an hour after it started (it still had 3 hours to run) but opted to not go. Went for my induction. What a damp squib it was.
Instructor: 'What sort of exercise do you do at the moment? (having talked about sedentary, gardening)'
Me: 'Weights mostly'
I: 'Well this is about cardio vascular' and he went on to show me how all the machines work - by HIM going on them...
Blah, blah, blah.
Said he was showing me the machines so that when the weights area was full of meatheads, I'd be able to still do exercises. I said that I'd still go in there amongst them and claim my bit of floorspace as I know what I am doing.
Having mentioned that I was hoping for comments on my lifting/squatting technique, he ignored that request. He obviously had a script to get through...
Once I escaped, I went and used their 12k KB in the 'stretching' room for my workout. Next time (prob thurs) I'll stay in the main gym and stake a claim to some floor by the free weights.
Anyhow, there is still marking available so am pottering on with that for a bit, with the tennis or cycling in the background. And having breaks on here.:DNST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -
It was his cardio intro.... how could you not want that ??? !!!Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became
In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!0 -
Oh no to the cardio intro! I guess he had to tick the box to say you knew how to use the machines? But him using them isn't that helpful!15/5/12 Paid off Mortgage 1 (£220k) Bought Dream House:www: Dec 13 - Mortage 2 -£116,508. 15/7/18 Mortgage Free Again :j

He was impressed that I was able to get on the treadmill, press the 'on' button and not fall off... Sigh.
I'll admit that I did opt to have an induction, but it was more to be on the safe side than to get any ideas form it. He didn't even ask me why I'd joined and what my aims were.... Sigh.
Nuff about that.
I went and did ZCUT KB #4. It was tough!
Dd is off tomorrow for 3 nights. Gulp. I'm also going away, to see mum, but dd says I'm not to talk about it because I'm doing it when she's away and she doesn't want to know! She wants - and needs - tomorrow to be about her.
I have my plans for when I see mum. I'll arrive in time for a visit from the DOLS people. Heaven help them if they get there early, as they really upset mum last time and we have written a strong letter about no way are they to go and see her without one of us present. So they contacted the home today. To visit tomorrow. What world do these people live in?
My plan to go and visit the house we lived in for 6 months or so has been shelved, due to DOLS. It's only another 5 or 6 stops along the cross-city line, plus a 15 min walk. But there isn't time for it this time. I want to be able to enjoy the memories, not feel rushed.
Mum has somehow injured her chin. At 4.45am. So much so that they called an ambulance! They treated her there and then, but still, yikes. But of course, we have no way of knowing how she did it, unless there is a trail of blood in her room, or a telltale splodge on the corner of a unit... So I'll probably not be taking her out to the woods... Think it's due to rain a bit, anyway.
I plan to stay at the hotel - if they ever answer the phone - and use their gym, and luxuriate in a good shower. And then come home the next day - though I am thinking I'll loiter a bit and go and see mum after her breakfast...
And I need to secretly pack tomorrow morning, without dd being too aware of it...NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -
Hope it goes well for both you and dd, apple. As to your mum's injury ... sounds like a fall? Enjoy the hotel gym2023: the year I get to buy a car0

That gym instructor sounds useless. I go to a big brand gym and asked on my 'tour' if there were staff around to check form etc. I haven't seen one on the floor yet apart from when they're doing PT sessions.
Sorry to hear about your mums injury too, such a worry for you.
Are you counting 'get ups' yet?June 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!0 -
Another duff gym visit. This time at the hotel. My own fault, as I had no trainers and wasn't allowed to exercise in bare feet or trekking sandals. So I did a workout in my room instead. Then had an awesome shower.
Mum's chin has a cut on it, underneath and on the jaw. And quite a spectacular bruise from gravity drawing the blood down her neck. She let me put arnica on it, which I 'happened ' to have with me... She was complaining of a hurting back - so I think that she pulled a back muscle when she did her chin.
Dd has gone on her school journey. I reckon she'll have an awesome time - so long as she gets enough sleep!
So dh has the house to himself until I get back tomorrow. I'll probably get home and find it cleaner and tidier than it was this morning - he's good like that!NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -
Cath - I'm not counting get-ups, as I finished last Friday! I kept quiet about it because many people are going on for so much longer.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0
