Ooph. Am glad that today has run its course. Got all the gifts sorted and delivered at work. A friend gave me a lift partway home and my bus came 2 mins later. Result. She ensured I was not walking in some heavy rain with my rucksack + two big full bags of crafted items. I was very grateful indeed.

The chocs I made for dd, using the silicone moulds I bought from aldee, are a hit. And they look really good too. So I shall get some normal chocolate and make some for other people . We found some presents for a few more people in our present stash. And a few items for the charity shop.

I have been refunded fir some walking shoes that did not fit - despite being the same brand and size as the ones I owned. Nice to have the money back. I may simply go to jdsp0rt and get some from there as I can try them on. Otherwise my walking boots won't last the winter, as they are getting so much wear.

Just one more work day for me, but 5 for dd, so no long lazy lie ins just yet.

Sorry to hear you have been feeling low. Glad that you have the counselling to work out what you need. Be kind to yourself.

I’m an introvert too and love being alone and I love silence. Your Post made me think I need to have some me time too.

My last day at work for the year has been done. I arrived late, oops, but it wasn't noticed, phew. I went to dd's carol concert first thing - lovely - then trotted offto work. Buses came along quickly and I changed where there are several charity shops. Being ahead of schedule, I decided to pop into some of them. I found some warm winter boots for dd (unworn), some shoes for me (unworn) and 3 dolls for dd. Total: £16.50.

By this point it was clear I was going to be late! Anyhow, I did the time required at work and trotted back home. Via sp0rts d1rect to look for walking shoes. Found some. I needed a size bigger than normal - same as when I bought walking boots from aldee. But still £33. Eek.

Gosh, it is hard to buy myself new items, even footwear ones.

Then back to dd's sch where she was doing her taekwondo grading. She is now the proud owner of a green stripe belt. :T

A couple of presents have been wrapped and I did bunny slope workout 4 this morning.

Tomorrow dh and I are invited to dd's school for carols and mince pies and mulled wine. Then I am choosing to go in to work. Primarily to tidy and sort and recycle. And to do some prep if time allows. I shall only stay for a maximum of 3 hours - I suspect it'll be much less!

Congratulations on finishing work although it’ll feel much more final after you have finished your tidying.

  • I had a nice time at dd's school carols, hot festive ribena and gf mince pies. They had bought 8(!) pies for me. I managed 2 - this was at 9am, not long after bfast - and took 3 away with me.

And off to work I trotted, buying some cakes from the vegan gf stall on the way. Only the office staff were in - last night was the staff cmas social do, so I didn't expect to see anyone! I got tons of tidying up done - things that hwve been loitering for yonks are now with their buddies and stored sensibly. I also re-did a display board that I suddenly realised was looking rather tatty. And I even did some prep. Go me, eh. And I feel much better for doing it. Stayed about 2.5 hours. Walked the mile to the bus and the oyster reader wasn't working so I had a free journey home as I also walked the last mile.

Collected dd and let her choose some cake. She tried it -a vegan raw one - but wasn't keen. So she tried another one for her pud. She is now in bed with me, with tummy pains, having done copious amounts of throwing up and she is still dry heaving. Poor mite. It's just like a few weeks ago, but is dragging on for longer. She is exhausted. So, she will miss her last dance classes of the term, and the nativity at church, but doesn't care, which is a measure of how rotten she feels.

And my super busy weekend has eased up. Step ds + fiancee are still coming for tea tomorrow and we may still go to a friend's son's bday bash on sun at their house, though that is rather doubtful...

  • Eight pies for you sound awesome. :)

Hope DD is feeling better this morning.
  • Thank you. She is up and chirpy, but hasn't eaten yet. I'm ok with that - for now.

Today, we have nativitied, hog roasted and partied.

Tomorrow dh is 'out' to work, dd shall go to school (carol service at nearish church am + class party pm - laden with her own pack of SAFE food). Previously, I have accompanied them to the church but I really need some time on my own and plan to do a 3m walk that takes in some woods and delivers me to a possible 7 ch shops.

I also want to do a workout. An watch Father Brown. And be able to go to the dentists if the abscess gets any bigger...

Hope DD is fully fine now and that you have a successful workout/ CS visit/ walk in woods/ watch TV kinda day. Also hope that you don't need to go to the dentist again :( (although better to have that need today than in a week's time!)
    xx

  • Plans have changed...

Dh is still out all day. But I sent dd back to bed at 8.30am as she was so teary and just wanted to sleep. DH would have sent her to school, maybe I'm just too soft... So she'll miss the Junior carol service and her class party. Now, 1 hour later, I guess she must have fallen asleep!

I have done bunny slope 6, but because I didn't get one done yesterday, I need to fit another one in later! My walk and ch shop mission can wait. Looks like tidying, tv and wrapping are on the cards.
