Oz 18 is happening because step ds is getting wed out there and we'll also get to spend time with step dd2 who lives out there, and step dd1 who'll be travelling over from Canada along with gson. A big family get-together :j
I sympathise.I damaged a ligament a couple of years back and while it healed, the residual muscle weakness has twisted my kneecap so it sits in the wrong place. Gotta look after the knees because they can cause no end of pain when they go wrong.
Oh wow, it sounds brilliant. Am sure it will be amazing!0 -
Sounds like a productive weekend planned. What are you thinking of doing exercise wise with your sore knees?15/5/12 Paid off Mortgage 1 (£220k) Bought Dream House:www: Dec 13 - Mortage 2 -£116,508. 15/7/18 Mortgage Free Again :j

With my knee as it is (or as it was, now, as it has improved), exercise is inadvisable. I don't know whether I twisted it, making it hurt by sitting with my legs twisted - though this may have exacerbated the problem. Or if it is arthritis - sigh. Or...?
Anyhow, rest has been the only option but it is improving. I can now go down the stairs using both legs - yay! And I can do plenty of walking (got my F1tbit Earth Badge today). Trying to do more is counter productive as I found out when I went for an impromtu hilly run 2 weeks ago that has resulted in a LOT of pain. I'd like to avoid a repeat of this!
The weekend up at mum's was good. Big sis stayed an extra night so we got to chat. Mum was gobsmacked with joy at seeing us both together. We had lots of laughs about 'gonks'. And she was in hysterics over the huge pompom on my woolly hat.
Friend drove me to collect stuff from a friend's garage. She also helped sort some of it. She took me to the tip - this was soooo useful as we were able to dispose of things easily that have been hanging around for aaages.
In short, we got the house 'photo ready' for the Estate Agent. :T
I have a craft evening on Friday and have been making a 'prototype' big robin doorstop, and bunting with my final choice of name for myself. The bunting required 20 bits of bunting! My price lists are almost done, although I need to check what I have put in the bag before I print the final version. Dd is going to come with me so she'll have a very late night - it finishes at 9.30 pm and is a 40 min bus journey away, and the buses only run every 30 mins at that time of night! The next day, dh is going to the same building to do some cabling work, so I could always leave some stuff behind for him to bring home... Hopefully, I'll just sell it all :rotfl:. I am definitely taking less than other times though.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -

Thank you greent. It's just been a matter of clearing out the clutter, taking things for mum for her room, recycling when we are there... It is pure coincidence that we coincide with cmas/NY - we've been working on this since April...!
Am silly-ly excited about tonight. Dd is super excited too
. She is currently planning her own stall for tonight, doing drawings for people
.
I have done some knee exercises today. Very gentle ones. But I can feel them, esp the one that involved my lower back. I'm possibly more imbalanced than I thought....
It feels like it has been a very spendy day: cash out; 30 on my oyster; 20 in £1s for float; 5 on a wooden make-your-own musical tree for dd; 1.50 on a picture advent calendar for big sis; 1.50 on a l-s top for me; 2.50 on silicone choccy molds from aldee; 2.60 on mint choc for dd and dh.
Anyhow, we are sure to enjoy tonight.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -
Indeed, we did enjoy the evening
. Dd made £5 doing 'commissioned' drawings for people and is extremely proud of herself. I sold some bits and bobs throughout the evening, a total of £58.50. I'm very pleased.
The bus travel was rather meh. The bus we planned to catch there did not show up and there is only 1 bus that takes us there. So we arrived 25 mins later than planned and I only had 25 mins to set up. The journey home was much smoother and quicker, but we only arrived home at 10.30pm. It was a close-run thing, turning into pumpkins or not.
Dh has gone back there today, leaving at 7.30, to do some work and dd and I haven't had as much sleep as we want/need either. So it'll be fun and laughter in the apple household later today...!NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -
Well done on getting the house ready. That was a marathon!0

Thank you. Two houses cleared in 15 months. A marathon indeed. The book is closed on 50 years of personal history.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0

I reckon we are a month ahead of ourselves here. We've had a movie afternoon (for which I gave up my rugby viewing, may I point out...) and dd chise a Barb1e one! 'A perfect Christmas'. And she has picked it to watch on Cmas eve again. As Brbi films go, it's pretty good and was probably a better choice for a dark afternoon than HPotter...
Dance was danced. I spent £4 credit on books in the SA and£1 on a warm hoodie for me - may put that aside for cmas. 1 also spent £1.11 on apples - I wanted to make an appley apricoty flapjack thingy this morning but was thwarted by by a lack of apples, so had to make a sultana date cinnamon one instead. Tough, huh?
Scotland are currently 3-0 up against NZ. Best give it some attention...NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0
