    Socks.

    I need socks.

Wore a thin pair t'other day -monday methinks - and ended up with achey toes - prob worsened by the tuesday run. Therefore I shall splash out on decent thickish very cottony socks. If ever I find some... Not that they don't exist, more my lack of entering shops that may sell them...

We have been sent some photos of baby gs and he is adorable, of course. 7lb 12. Born Sat 13 May in the early hours - at 4 something.

Had a good counselling session again. And did the massive uphill walk to get the bus home. Then hardly did any more steps as I cracked on with the moderating and marking.

Sent a few emails to centres for missing bits and bobs (d'uh), moderated 2 more centres (4 more to go,but 1 hasn't even arrived yet. What did I say about deadlines...?), and finished marking a sizeable centre. So, I'm more positive about getting it finished soonish, but we are out all of Sat and most of Sun - 2 key days, usually, for getting stuff done - so I may have to give in and move my ideal finish date back... However, the challenge remains to finish by next Fri... :rotfl:

I finished the other front of big sis' cardi, so it now has a back and 2 fronts. Hmmm, maybe I could just add the collar and pockets and pretend that it was supposed to be like that...

We have a £5 off £30 spend in liddle, so may venture up there on fri. It's not our usual haunt so I expect the shop will take us aaages as I read all the packaging...

Glad the counselling went well. And you are racing through the moderating!

I think I am ahead of other years - it certainly feels like it. Probably helps that 9/10 centres actually sent their work for moderating on time (or thereabouts), and all the marking centres did. The marking work is trackable by parce1force, which may account for its promptitude...

The sock issue has been resolved:j. I was excited last night to discover the primarni on the high street I have to walk up to catch my2nd/3rd bus to work opens at 8am. So I was able to pop in before work today, as I start later. Twas a joy to wander round, so few people, and I got 23 pairs of socks for dd and I for around £10. Result. We have both now been through our socks and most of the rejects are only good enough for textile recyc. On the way home, I had 10 mins to pop into sp0rtsd1rect and boy, their socks are pricey!

I've been looking for a very particular type of top for running. The lycra legs/skort I use to run home from work are v thick and therefore v hot, and I look like a tomato anyway when I run. But I am not fit to be seen at work/by pupils in passing in my knee-length leggings (blubber issues) and want one of those loose tops that are longer at the sides, which might cover a little of it, at least until I am off the premises and then I don't care... Nor should it be a racer back style. Nor have mega massive armholes. Having looked a little online last night, and quickly in Sp D today, I'm not sure it exists! So...I bought an XL men's long-sleeved running top from a ch shop for £3 and will try to customise it.

Very little marking done today - maybe only 5 scripts! But I have marked both y9 classes' listening tests.

Dinner was a new paleo chicken strips recipe that worked quite well. Phew.

    A good day off work.

Mod is as far along as it can be, so am not doing any more until Monday. Sent off a mar parcel. Am almost halfway through. Definitely taking tomorrow off all of it. It will be nice when I get paid though :D. Am considering putting the pennies towards one of the big things we need to do holiday-wise in the next few years. Next year = step ds's weddding in Oz if we're lucky, or somewhere in SE Asia if we're not so lucky. We'd would dearly love to go and visit our grandson out in Canada. And dh's mum is now in a care home (by choice and fully with her wits about her, but just turned 80) in Texas. How can you rank them??!

Did a mishmash of a workout: Zuzana warm up, 10 mins of 10 high knees + belly down with hands off the floor (=42), then 12x 15/5: 3 sumo squat and jump + 2 tuck jump and jump 180. I was huffing and puffing like a steam train!

Have been considering ways to save money... We're pretty tightfisted, I reckon (!) It may be a case of returning to Tilly Tidies to a savings account - when I get my act together and set one up...

I am very good at considering. Not nearly so good at doing.

A day of out-and-abouting ahead of us. 9am to 9pm ish. The sun is shining - long may it last, given that we are outside for a lot of the day. Looking forward to a day together (and doing no marking).

So easy to muddle them... (sorry, not got any stuff that's not mine to swap with you this year. Maybe next...)

Awesome day yesterday. A wonderful day of being sociable (eeek), beng very well fed, and enjoying the assault course, archery, the traversing wall, a mega massive bonfire with lots of campfire songs to make you laugh. Dd had an excellent time and loved toasting marshmallows and clambering round, exploring. We walked home as the sun was setting - only 30 mins - and all had a bath/shower and collapsed into bed.

So, we shouldn't whiff too much of bonfire ... And a wash is on of all the smelly clothes, which I reckon I can hang outside today - yay!
