Getting the ice on it immediately prevented plenty of swelling, in my opinion. There is some swelling and bruising - I'm expecting it to kick in more tomorrow. I'm sitting sideways at the dining table with both feet up (hey, why not?!) and am applying an ice cube every 30/40mins. And taking ibuprofen. And pottering on with my marking!! So at least I can earn some pennies still.

I must be the only person in the UK to have gotten cold today!

I slept better than I'd expected, so the toe wasn't painful during the night.

It is now pretty swollen and a good shade of purple, but could have been much worse.

Dh will take dd to dance - again, she ain't impressed - and I'll meet up with them later for a promised lunch out and charity shop meander. Plus a peek in sainz for sch clothes. I reckon I can only wear my 'trekking' sandals, and it is already raining and thundery. Fun! Anyhow, in the meantime, I shall potter on with marking...

A day off church today (although dh has gone already as he is doing the pa) as when I went to bed, I went all dizzy and nauseous unless I was laying on my left hand side. Sigh. Pesky ears. My tum was also unhappy, and my toes joined in with some aches...

Enough of the pity party though!

As I reckon I'll need to give my toe joint 6 weeks to recover fully, I was mulling over what exercise I can still do, rather than what I cannot do (walk, run, cycle, anything involving jumping or balancing on my toes (lunge, press up...)). This is my list thus far:
    - squats (front/back/sumo/goblet/air/overhead/pistol(?))
    - bulgarian split squat
    - V-ups, exercise ball pike, Russian twist
    - deadlift, clean and press
    - dancing crab, glute bridges
    - kneeling push up (feet elevated ones too, but that's probably pushing it a tad too far!)
    - most arm + shoulder exercises
    - kettlebell swing

    I need a plan!

June may have to be a squat month challenge... Off to mooch through my Zuzana workout notebook for inspiration.

PS If I get my act together, I could maybe finish all my moderating admin today... Now, that would be worth doing...

Workout mooching first though. Gotta prioritise, eh?

  • My team leader is driving me bonkers. She keeps claiming I haven't sent her stuff when I have.
She did exactly the same last year.

I get a different TL every year for each component. This year I blithely emailed about a pesky centre - to the wrong TL and for the wrong component! I did get a lovely reply though!

We have had a lovely day down in Brighton, seeing step ds + gf. Tesc0 paid for our train tickets - yay.

Although I am still extremely limited in my walking speed (who knew that hobbling took up so much energy!) I have done over 11k steps. We ate in a fantastic place for lunch - £40 for 4 big people + drinks, and dd just had a massive smoothie - they didn't bat en eyelid at her eating her own food, which was generous of them. And we also got to see step ds + gf's flat, and chat about their wedding plans for next year. All v good.

Now I am sat with the tennis and have done some more marking - 13 more scripts to go... The aim is to complete it tomorrow and get it sent off. Then I can start on the bunnies :j.

Am working on an NST June challenge, as well as considering my own exercise limitations/challenges for the month.

We are off to bham Weds-Sat. Mum, banks, house sorting... I put some items from mum's on gumt for free and have about 40 replies so far! Yikes! But that is a job to sort through tomorrow...
