    Week 10/12

Health - well, the toe event on fri has scuppered much exercise, but up to that point, I''d done 3 exercise sessions. Counselling, quiet times, books all done. Removing much added sugar had an immediate effect on my hands, making them much better.

Wealth - more pennies earned with mod and mar. Not much spent anywhere. Primarni yielded up some nix for dd and me - I'm pleased that I go in and only buy what I went for. Dh earned a few pennies too.

Life well lived - better hands meant I could knit more, and have finished a sleeve of big sis' cardi. i do still need to ration how much I do though, but at least it is more than before. A good week at work, some admin jobs completed, others at least started.

We only have 3 pics of the gorgeous bundle so far - but he is superb! Don't know when we'll see him in person, as they live over on the western side of Canada. Step dd has been back in hospital with horrible hosrrible abcesses on her c-section wound and has been very poorly indeed. She still is - it is hard to be unable to do anything other than pray for her recovery!

In the spirit of not letting my injured toe turn me into a porker, I have done a workout!

Warm up, then 12x10/50: bodyweight squat; V-ups; kneeling push up; V-up left side; sumo squat; V-up right side. Cool down. Enough to get a sweat on me!

We are more or less packed to go to bham tomorrow - a 'working' holiday, but nevertheless, time together as a family. Bank stuff, curtain stuff, gumt stuff (must have had about 100 requests for the 4 things I offered for free, and only a few had read the conditions and replied politely. But it is a good indicator of how quickly things can be gotten rid of), food shop, picture hook removal, charity shop stuff removal, mum visiting, name tag sewing in, charity shops, playground, cleaning. Or thereabouts.

S-dd is now home and the wound community nurse will visit every 2 days. It was a wound dressing comm nirse who spotted the weeping abcess(es) last time and got sdd into hospital, so we reckon she's in safe hands.

Saw mum today, with dd in tow. I know we cheered mum up immensely this time. And dd being her usual delightful cartwheeling-over-the-grass self cheered up many of the residents too.

2 building societies visited with the EPA to add my name to the accts, and a bank to visit tomorrow.

Lots of stuff left the house today - slowly freeing up space and removing gubbins.

Managed 12k steps for the first time in a week, which is good going, and shows how much my toe's improving. I now have a most impressively coloured bruise!

Dd acquired a Harry P0tter cluedo set from a ch shop, which we've been playing tonight, even getting dh to join in as you can't play it with 2 people.

I had my first exercise session of the month all done and dusted by 6.30 this morning! 12x10/50: squat; V-up; kneeling press up; V-up left side; sumo squat; V-up right side. Still made me sweaty.

Have sorted stuff with a bank today, bought some bits for mum, cleared out the 'plastics' cupboard (generating a massive liddle bag for recyc and a normal liddle bagful for the ch shop, plus some still left in the cupboard!), sorted a little of mum's wedding replies (1964!), visited mum, bought the buttons for big sis' cardi, knitted a few rows of said cardi, washed up a lot, and played HP cluedo.

We have made excellent use of the £8 group travel bus ticket each day we have been here, freeing us up to not have to arrange everything around the one direct bus that leaves once an hour to travel from here to see mum. Although there are several different bus companies, you can use the ticket on all of them. Result.

Tomorrow, we head home for a little R and R.

Step dd is home and sounding better. She has even ventured outside :T. She currently has MIL and SIL staying but they will depart on Sun eve. MIL has been there since sdd went back into hospital, looking after the baby. Her dh has started back at work, but is just a few doors away, so close at hand. She seems to be mending well.

We had a smooth journey home, having done a couple more things to the house. Dh got the outside light to work (turns out it wasn't wired up...) and I tidied the cupboard under the sink and moved some stuff around.

We are all v pleased to be home, and dd has played out for about 4 hours.

I have finished off 3 bunnies (14 more to go...) and sewn up several arms (several more to go... don't want to overdo it with my fingers). The next 6 bunnies are easy ones to tick off as they at least had all their bits stitched up. The following 8 will need focus...

In money news, I've paid some more off the mortgage. Not really necessary, but makes me feel better.
