Sending some love your way, Apple xx
Sorry I've not had a chance to write much lately, I kept thinking I'd grab a moment to write a proper reply but it hasn't happened yet! Thinking of you muchly though and glad to hear you've been able to take some time off work. Hope the days are easing up a bit now xxa penny picker upper. Both the OT an the ward nurse told bigsis to reduce the amount of time she spends there with mum, as mum needs to get used to not having someone there all the time. Indeed. And for me, it takes away the pressure to 'do what my sister does' and spend so long there. I left at 6 yesterday, instead of 8.30. Today I am leaving at 2.30 to head home.
It is still all rather overwhelming though! Big sis is here, getting so much achieved, and I feel like I am home, not achieving because it is all too much. I will keep on keeping on, one day at a time.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -
Having taken over 4 and a half hours to get home, I thought I was going to have to go straight out to take dd to hospital. Covered in a rash that was widespread and raised and red, I was rather panicky. Dh was better - he gave her some piriton and ran a cool bath. Then researched it and came up with hives. The bath and meds helped and within an hour or so, it had subsided a fair amount. More piriton before bed, and she slept well.
This morning, she has opted out of church, a wise idea in my opinion. She has had toast with butter for breakfast and more piriton. The hives are more evident on her bottom half and practically gone on her top half. I don't know if her legs were like that before the toast or not.
We can only think they were caused by a changed recipe in the pizza base dh used as a v late lunch for her, as all her other foods are ones she has had recently with no such reaction.
It has been rather scary, especially as my first thought was meningitis!NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -

Dd is improving, but has been wiped out by the reaction. I shall keep her off tomorrow. I have a dr appt myself, so will call for an urgent one for her once they open at 8.
She cried again today - because of not being able to eat... cheese. Worse than not eating chocolate, she says.
She has agreed to do a month of strict dairyfreeness, and I said that I shall do it with her, which she appreciated. She told me that when I'm not with her, then I can eat dairy, bless her.
In mse news, I have a cheque from v1rg1n train people giving a £14 refund for a late train. Although you do have to apply for it, we didn't expect a result (and the lateness was due to a signalling prob before I got on the train, coupled with going down the line where the 'landslide' had occurred that morning). That'll go off the mortgage.
We have nearly survived September, with reduced income. Frivolous spending has been small. More has been spent on food, seeking items dd can have, and that will continue for now.
NSDs have been few since I was signed off, as that enabled me to seek out items for dd.
I have read all 8 Potter books.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -
I think NSDs being lost to finding food for DD is totally acceptable! Plus if budgets are met it's not an issue in reality
Well done on the refund
