power of attorney. Not sure if 'invoking' is the correct verb to go with it, but it sounded like it did!NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0

My dear sister is a saint. She is getting to the hospital by 9am and getting back home about 10 pm. Almost every minute of that time is being spent with mum, because as soon as big sis leaves, mum panics. Sis even had to return to the hosp last night when she was 2 mins away from home, as mum had packed her stuff and wanted to leave there and then. Sis does not drive, so has been catching the bus or a taxi or walking the 2 miles to the hospital. Last night shegot here at 10.45, and got to bed aftermidnight.
So I shall go in this morning and let her have a bath, wash her hair and relax at home befor coming along heself. There is a bus in 40mins. I am coffeed and fed so shall get dressed and head off. I do feelbad that I'm only here until mid-afternoon,but I am juggling work and an 8yo as well for now and dd needs her mummy. At least sis has had someone to talk to and a little break.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -
An excellent journy home: from taxi, to train 1, to train 2, to tube, to train 3, to bus. It was a seamless journey, as if each one was waiting just for me.
Big sis still deserves sainthood. Fact.
I spent my time with mum, who has been just so weak and exhausted today. She had her drains removed, which was very painful. She was supposed to be discharged, but the general consensus is that she is too weak to go home. So, they are keeping her another night and hope to get her an EAB place where she will still be looked after, and can get stronger.
She had periods of contentment today, but can not see how she will cope once back home. We are trying to get her just to look at the next stage - that of getting stronger. I can understand her fear and panic about the future.
In other news, dh has been offered some extra hours for a couple of weeks. Needless to say, he said yes.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -
Too much to juggle. Work, mum, big sis needing a break, the will, dad's house, dd, dh has another eye op tomorrow. If I go up to see mum and sis and do stuff re the house, then that messes up dh's extra hours (he needs to open up by 7am so if I am not here, then dd has to get up and go with him). If I do not go up, dsis may crack. Whatever I do, it lets someone else down. If I take time off work, then I'm letting them down.
My first question is: am I fit to work? And I think it is a 'no'. The constant anxiety, being on the verge of tears, the knot in my innards, the worrying. So I shall contact work, then spend some time today setting work for the week ahead. And tomorrow I shall try to get a dr appointment with my GP for as soon as possible.
In other news, I have lost my Primal Blueprint book. My health is wobbly in many areas and continuing to do what I am doing (which is not changing a thing) is pointless. So I am seeking a change/to change. Although it is fundamentally a no-grains-no-sugar-no dairy way, it is also a lifestyle and a way of living that encompasses the whole being. There is only so much I can find online, but it is better than nowt, so it is where I shall look.
So after sorting out the week's work, I shall peruse the information online and come up with a week's worth of meals + exercise habits.
Apologies for a maudlin post of blethering.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -
From the outside..
Put your own (and your immediate family's) oxygen mask on first.
Your DH needs the hours I think? You probably do need some time off. You probably need a LOT of sleep right now.
You are coping magnificently and if you replace "Whatever I do I am letting someone down" with "However much I'd like to, I cannot be in two places at once" you will see that.
Work wise if you are taking time off, be clear with them and have a plan to reduce any commitments that can be reduced when you go back.

Seconded. Especially the last part. Consider yourself dodgily hugged :grouphug:.A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effortMortgage Balance = £0
