Boy do I ache, and I reckon tomorrow it will be worse before it gets better... My hands are both stiffening up nicely, my left arm's graze is yukky and hurts each time I move the arm, and my right knee is sooo hurty. However, although it may sound bizarre, having physical pain is a relief - it is easier to deal with.
Dd lasted until lunchtime, when I picked her up. She was wiped out, poor thing, and I even had to carry her bag home - she usually insists on doing it herself. Once home and fed, we have watched Prisoner of Azkahban - but with plenty of breaks at the more scary bits - and pottered quietly.
Had a lovely chat with mum this morning, which was good.
No money management/will stuff done today, but it was an NSD.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -

Look after yourself, Apple. Definitely time for some serious feet up/soak in the bath rejuvenation xxa penny picker upper. As we near the end of August, I want to reflect a little on the month. I disappeared from the NST challenge that I was running on day 3 and thereafter felt like I had lost the plot. However, using the ever-useful hindsight, I realise that I easily managed 2 of the challenges - the relationships one, and the not spending on wants one, as buying anything other than food or travel, or spending on dd, just seemd pointless.
I have managed to do some exercise (and fall and skid along when running in the woods, d'oh) and get some physio on my shoulder which had become almost immobile with the pain.
My screen time shot up, sky high. Unable to focus on much, I had the telly on a lot - thank goodness for the Olympics - and played Jewel Pop interminably on my tablet. I was even unable to bother with reading until a week ago, which is most unusual.
September will hold its own challenges - back to work, mum's mastectomy + subsequent treatment, sorting out the will, the continued clearing of dad's house, and of course, 'life' here with dd and dh.
I definitely have not overspent in August, which was a very tight month for us. And am grateful for that. September will be just as tight as dh's jsa money stops after the first week.
I am back to work on the 1st; dd has a playdate on the 2nd; mum's op is the 5th and I have more physio that evening; dd is back at sch on the 6th and has a dietician appointment straight after; on the 10th dd and I go to Drusilla's; the 12th is dh's eye op with a post-op appt on the 13th. That's all I can recall for now...
I have a long list of documents/reports/paperwork that will need doing for work asap too. But that is too overwhelming to think about just now...
Gosh, that is rather a lot of maudlin ramblings. Sorry!
Tomorrow:
-library
-mail redirection paperwork
-get some cards (2x congratulations, 2x sympathy)
-aldee shop
-keep 'helping' dd to get rid of some books...NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -

Thank you for the well wishes - they are very much appreciated x.
Took dd to the library today, to finish the summer reading challenge. In the last 2 weeks she has devoured the first 4 Harry Potter books!
We got home to a letter from the consultant telling us that dd is now 'allergic to milk' (as well as being coeliac). I was unable to finish reading the letter, it upset me that much, so I got dh to read it through. He went and did some research and came away with the result that she is 'intolerant to milk protein'. Apparently it is down to semantics... but is a very different matter to deal with.
We had already noted recently that too much milk resulted in tummy pains, and had therefore moved dd to uht virtually fat free milk (thanks to my dad for that as we got the cartons from his house before we cancelled the delivery!) which did not cause pains.
So, we shall simply shift to uht skimmed milk for now. The idea of having to stop all milk-based foods in her diet is overwhelming. Even her gluten-free flour, breadsticks, pizza bases contain milk .NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -
It must feel like the final straw. Poor you. Xxx0
