Ooh, yes, I remembered! Big sister has 2cats so I am unable to ever borrow clothes, not even socks . She has some pet-free friends so they are the ones who lend us a duvet cover + sheets when I visit. And since we came in the car, we brought pillows and towels.
Dh is more of a wuss than me! One breath of wind and he mutters about how cold it is... I'm still in shorts and sandals when he is in trousers, trainers and fleece :rotfl:
Lots of walking today - dh wanted to take the car to the c00p, because of the big hill. Now, it is a big hill (after all, the place is called
Hill), but easily walkable. I won
Tomorrow is a swim followed by ch shops in town followed by checking out a vegan/gf foodie place.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -
Dd didn't enjoy the swim at all - she could only just touch the floor and it was cold! We lasted less than 20 mins. Ch shops were surprisingly unyielding in what they had to offer - usually we have to limit ourselves as we are on the train. No such limitations required today.
But the foodie place was excellent. The Jumping Bean in Durham. To be recommended!
And The W0rks... wow! They had felt at £2 for 6 A4-sized pieces. And ribbon in just the right colour. And packs of buttons. £17. (And dh and dd got stuff too, may I add...) So I shall transfer over the swim + spends monies once home. Another smidge off the mortgage, which is a very good thing indeed.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -
It was 8 pieces of felt per pack, not 6. And I got 5 packs. Soooo happyNST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0

Wow, that's a steal! :Ta penny picker upper. This morning's forecast is for rain; this afternoon's is for drizzle. So we'll potter around this morning (dd watching utube videos; dh on his phone/laptop; me probably sewing my Cmas decorations and smiling over my acquisitions in true Ferengi style...) then wander down to the spring.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0

The invasion of the north has retreated. But only as far as the midlands...
Now relaxing in a cat-free zone, yay! We (or rather dh) seem to have sorted out the constantly roasting hot water issue, so I hope mum's leccy bills will drop now. We have fed her and left 2 portions for another day, plus 4 magnums in the freezer. Her laptop is now functioning and she has realised how much she missed her toy!
Tomorrow we shall venture home and start on the never-ending washing pile that always occurs after a visit to the cat-zone. And I must get the August NST challenge up and running - I wrote it on my laptop before we went away, so it shouldn't take too long to sort. Famous last words...?NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -
Looking forward to it!

We are all glad to be home. I am mostly looking forward to sleeping in my own comfy bed, with blackout curtains. And sleeping all night
.
The NST August challenge is live, I'll add my personal comments to a copy when on the laptop. For the first time since joining the challenges, I/we really, really need to watch the pennies. Yet it is summer holiday time, so I am glad I have my exam marking monies saved, so we can still do things.
I have a list of 12+ personal mini challenges for the month. Eek. 3 are to do with eating; 4 are to do with exercise; 3 to do with spending; crafting, declutter.... Well, if I can't aim high in the hols, when can I? I would love to get back into running again - it is a lonnnnnng time since I did it properly.
Anyhow, having so many mini challenges should mean that I achieve something towards at least 1 of them each day :rotfl:.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -
What a delightful night's sleep we all had! Shame dh's alarm went off at 7.05 as he had to go and get the bus to church. Dh had a great time at Kids Klub - they usually go to the local park in the summer and play, play, play.
I have done 2 loads of washing (just 1 more left to get on top of it all, but no more psace for drying...), cleaned all the insides of the windows and turned myself into a beetroot by doing a workout:
Zuzana warm up; 12 mins of 12 forward lunge + 12 jump lunge; 12 squat + 12 jump squat; 12 side lunge + 12 side lunge jump; 12 curtsey lunge + 12 skater; 6 belly blaster. 3 rounds done. And a good, long cool down which I certainly needed.
Now to wash and then tidy/sort/organise my fabric. By colour, methinks.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0
