Gosh, I am tired!
I went to bed too late, had a lot of dreams that kept half-waking me up, and then had not allowed enough time between the alarm going off and me getting out of the door after having breakfasted, had coffee and got all I needed for a gov meeting and then straight into dd's sports morning + picnic lunch + go and see her books.
But manage it I did! The sports morning was lovely and relaxed and dd's house won :T. Only 4 points separated 1st and 3rd.
Now to get my head around tomorrow... I received a text today, asking chaperones to arrive 30 mins earlier than we'd previously been told, so 1 hour before the dancers, who need to arrive 1 hour before the show... And once the first show is over, I'll be lucky to have 45mins before I have to be back for the second show. I am fortunate to have dh who will run around sorting out dd, otherwise she would be spending the 9 1/2 hours with me. Show 1 runs 12-2; show 2 is 4.30-6.30. So abysmal timing for the children for eating meals - they've been told to only bring a water bottle + fruit for the first show . I guess my issue is that we cannot simply pop out to buy food for dd and I - it all has to be planned having thought through every possible eventuality. So even if dd ain't allowed food, I shall have pots of things for her in my bag! And I suspectmany parents will send their child with food...
Enough wittering. A stir-fry is awaiting frying and stirring.
And another NSD todayNST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -
A supremely lazy day here after yesterday's 9 hours backstage in crowded rooms with a gazillion little ones needing costume changes, tears wiping, toilet trips, water... The first show overran so I had no break between shows and hardly ate or drank all day. I am glad it is over for another 2 years - and by then dd probably won't need/want me to be back stage...
A wash has been done, the back grass mown, lots of growing things cut back, 2 polar bears finished with scarves, 2 robins stuffed with feathers (makes it look like I've been killing birds in the garden :rotfl:), tickets booked to see dad next week, plenty of Tour watched and plenty of book read.
Tomorrow:
-school run
-swim
-visit the liddl place near the pool
-take some stuff to ch shop
-school work??NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -

Dd is finding the heat hard for sleeping. And when the jar of coconut oil (the one in the bathroom, of course) is still liquid at 6am, you know it's rather warm... Even the paddling pool is now tepid...
Off to Brum. Not looking forward to the train travel, but looking forward to seeing the parents.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -
Travel all went ok. Did lots of walking! Good talks with both parents.
Quick visit to ch shops as had finished both my book and my penguin-making. Found a fitness mag for 30p so got that to read on the train. Also acquired some faux suede fabric and faux leather fabric - about the size of a cushion each - for a grand total of 50p..
Tomorrow:
-swim
-library
-aldee
-school run
-start on the massive lists I wrote of things to do in the house
-make a decision about travel north on Monday
Presents for staff all wrapped and ready to go. :TNST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -
Another swim today, as dd wished to go. She got in for free - I thought that only started on Monday so was pleasantly surprised. She met an old school chum in the pool, so I got in some lengths - did some fast ones for a change - ooph!
We then took 2 bags to the Sally Army and had a mooch. Once home, I realised I bought dh some shorts and a book (bk is for his bday) and dd got books, a dvd, a jewellery box and a couple of dolls, and I bought nothing for myself. Progress.
We worked out how to amend a s/o online yesterday, so I have reduced one of them, in accordance with my reduced income.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -
And I have paid some more pennies to the mortgage
. S t r e t c h target is around 14% I think.
Dd is just not right at the mo. A bit of a funny tum, off her food, wilting. Unable to sleep. The heat cannot be helping, but it doesn't seem particularly heat-related... A mystery. (I just need her better for a 6-7 hour drive on Monday!)NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -
Off oop norf tomorrow morning, once the rush hour people have rushed about. Off to visit my sister, a 6-7 hour journey - not counting stops - but possibly less if I let dh do the majority of the driving! We may come home via mum's, so could be away for 4 days, or 7. Dd's tum is a little better, so I think we'll be fine to go.
Must remember to pack warmer clothes than we have needed here for the last week... And waterproofs.
Dh made 2 duff loaves of gf bread today, which is most unusual. Well, dd will be having a crumpet for breakfast...
Another NSD, taking me to 14. Only 2 more needed to meet the target for the month.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -
5 hours and 10 mins of driving. (Plus stops, but they don't count!). A long drive, but as driving should be - flowing, dry, time to chat. I pity those crossing in to France - a friend of dd is taking a week to travel down to Spain. Wonder how far they'll get...!NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0

Hope you remembered your warm clothes. I've lived dahn saaath too long and always forget - I end up borrowing fluffy socks and ill-fitting jumpers from all and sundry when I go visiting :rotfl:a penny picker upper.
