I was in my jamas til gone 11 andonly dressed because dd went to play out front. I say dressed, but it's not really up to the 'being seen in public by anyone other than the neighbours' standard!

Dd is shattered from yesterday and it's obvious when she needs food! She's spent quite a bitof time on the smyths website, but when we found out that p&p is anothrr £3, she decided to wait til we're up at gma's and can go in to a store. Good girl!!

We had a quick sort through her clothes and she's got rid of 40 items! I need to take a leaf out of her book! A work colleague has offered us a cabin bed for free, so I'm hoping dd likes it...

Dd is dressed, fed and playing out again. I'm sort of dressed and have washed up, done a wash, done dd's drawers and started knitting a hat 4 times before giving up and switching to fingerless mitts. Just thought hats wouldn't sell well.

Dh due home soonish. He left us the car to use, but we haven't so I feel slightly bad that he's been on the buses. But lunch IS ready for him as soon as he appears.

He got me some chocs and a Tintin dvd for Mother's day - just my level! I do still want to keep off sugar til tomorrow eve,so hope to save them til then.

8 years ago, I despaired of ever being a mum. Thanks to modern methods we have a lovely dd. Well, modern tech didn't actually make her lovely, I'm sure that bit's all due to us!

Hope your DH survived the early start ;)

I had to laugh about the show, we went to see my mum's goddaughter do her dance Christmas show a couple of years ago, it lasted for 3 hours! With increasingly hysterical children as the night went on, I'm not sure why the teachers thought they needed to put on such an epic piece of theatre! :rotfl:

The show ran better than the one 2 years ago - phew! But even this morming, we are all worn out. Dd needs about 3 more hours sleep, so I wouldn't like to be her teacher today! I wouldn't like to be my pupils either...!

Last day of March, one day closer to goals. Then another fresh start for April.

My mistake payment of £400 extra is a challenge for April - can I live without it? It is rather a lot of money... Today I shall count up how much was 'spare' at the end of March, and either pay it over, or subtract it from the 400. Depends on how confident I am about living on what's then left. I know NSK would urge me to live off the least I can. But I don't know if I'm that brave....

I somehow managed to miss those two posts before mine yesterday, weird!

The April Power Shower sounds fab, good luck!

Hurrah for the TinTin DVD, I love that film, I could watch it over and over again :D

Eek on the £400... I would probably subtract leftover March from £400, but then try and live as if I don't have the £400 from the original April starting point? Maybe go week by week and if there's spare then OP it in chunks?

PS. and a :T for modern methods ;) We have friends in the same situation, it was so lovely when things worked out for them. :smileyhea

Having decided that I would do NO knitting today, I did cave in and knit 2 pairs of arms for the bears. But having the pressure off was nice. Just need to be decisive about the ears: felt cut outs or knitted hassle? Maybe a tad too deep for tonight's cogitations.

Too deep? Felt cutouts or knitted hassle? Why I think there's a whole metaphor for life right there!

Sorry to bombard you with postings A*M but I don't know how to do that multi-quoting thing!

Glad you're all OK, sounds like you're going into April with a very positive approach and lots of goals to keep you busy.

Hope DD likes the idea of the cabin bed, getting a new bed that way might just off-set that £400 in a pretty useful way!

How's the sugar-free going? Are you carrying on into April?

Good luck for the month ahead

Let's look back over March. Overall, a decent month. Dd's collar bone is mended; I went to all my meetings and work commitments; dd did her show rehearsals and show (finally!); the kitchen got cleaned and decluttered; some exercise was done; budgets were under, except for the charity shop one (oops).

And tomorrow we are into April.

£400 'overpayment' will stay overpaid (unless I'm desperate...) and I'll endeavour to do the month on 40% less. Gulp.

Today I broke the sugar fast. It was weird. I had a few chocolate covered mint creams at about 3pm at work, and felt yukky all the way home. Then had just 1 piece of licorice - too sweet. So had cashews and cranberries instead of more. A flake went down ok! And some of the choc dh bought me, after tea. Given how much sugar I can guzzle, this is a breakthrough!

Tomorrow I go back to sugarfree. Looking forward to it.

Just realised I have £75 in my purse - thatcan be my 'emergency money'. Will go and move it to my sock drawer! Shhhh - don't tell the burglars.

April starts with a food shop. Am aiming for £40 max.

Off to knit a bit now.

Well done Habi on the half burpee. Watch this space for more ideas...

Habi - just read your other posts. Thank you! Keep on bombarding - it makes me feel special!

April will be good because there are no parents evening or governor meetings in it!

April won't start with a shop. I didn't sleep well - often get stuff whizzing round my head on a Monday night, and last night was pretty whizzy indeed.

Tomorrow is my last day of term so shopping and banking will wait til thurs.

I have a huuuuge to do list for today, but shall post things once done as I already have it written out on post-its.

I have weighed and measured myself and put a wash on, so a start has been made! I shall aim to keep off the tablet, as my right eye is tired and too much screen time wears it out! I do also have a left eye to use too, but it's not as sensitive to flickering screens as it's not had 2 ops on it!
