Thanks, Habi and PM. Dd is mending up well. She reckons she can still feel a huuuuuuuge gap in her collarbone - almost as big as the Grand Canyon by all accounts. So I need to have a feel myself, when she'll allow it! This Friday, it'll be 4 weeks since she did it, so could potentially remove the sling.... I think we'll just let her choose, as we spent the first 2-3 weeks trying to keep her arm in it, and the mindshift for her to accept that she's allowed to NOT use it is rather big for a 6 year old!

Today is a day off work - hurray! But with a pretty long list of to dos, culminating in this term's final parents evening. They've all been on a Tues, which is annoying for me.

I plan to enjoy the day and take it as a tortoise would, not the racing hare.

Weekends with no rugby, eh? What WILL I do? Well, I missed half the matches anyway, through one thing or another! Maybe I'll just have to go out and get some (gulp) fresh air (gulp)....

Sounds like a very lovely productive day. :T

How on earth did you manage to go into both Mr S & A and escape relatively unharmed? Given the rest of the day I now rather suspect you of being superwoman  ;)
a penny picker upper. MFW approx 78% to go | FIRE 3 years worth (30% savings rate: now aiming for 40%!) | Normality is a paved road; it's comfortable to walk, but no flowers grow on it | Whatever you're meant to do, do it now. The conditions are always impossible | The only thing you absolutely have to know, is the location of the library

Ha ha! Superwoman I most certainly am not, although I would't mind having the phhsique to wear the costume!

Sometimes I scare myself with my 'time-and-motion' efficiency. And then Wednesday arrives and life returns to normal!

ps did I mention I also sent a parcel to dsd in NZ, and hoovered the stairs and landing, and prepared tea and tidied some of dd's stuff :Taway

My turn to sitwith dd tonight. Think she's already asleep but will stay a while longer just to be sure.

I think I had a migraine today. I've had heads like this in the last year ish. From talking to others, I think it was. But I'm so luckyto teach lovely kiddies. My y9s accepted watching Asterix as the 'cultursl bavkground' component to the Romans in Britain! And took seriously my comment of: "my tolerance levels are really low today. If you areunable to watch the film quietly, then you will have to do some mindless copying. No, it wo 't be mindless, you'll do some educstionally beneficial copying!" They were as good as gold!

Then my y11s got me water, offered coffee and cakes to look after me. By this time, the tablets were kicking in, but I certainly modified my day!

And I had to rush off - again - to get dd. Since she did her collarbone, the nighbour's dd has been pretty much constantly ill with ear infections. And that leaves me childcare-less. I know that's a selfish take on the situation, but the situation is the cause of my tension and bad heads. Next door should be well enough for school next wek, so I sincerely hope things return to a more even keel for me.

Anyhow, lovely neighbour now has our very old high chair, so we've 1 less item in the loft!

I scrambled half a knitted hanging heart before coming up to dd. In red sparkly wool. But it's rather scratchy wool, so am thinking about cutting the other half from a red fleece top I bought yonks ago in a ch shop for this purpose. Then blanket stitching them together with white wool. Will tryit and see. If it's successful, then maybe I can apply the knit half / fleece half approavh to trees....

OK, off to bed myself now.

knitted, but not joined to anything yet as working the sewing machine is too intricate for my brain at the mo!

Another NSD in the bag. A chilled morning as dh did dd, and she was happy to go to the after school club, so I could have my postponed meeting at school and trundle back. Rushing back is no quicker than trundling, just more stress-making.

Meeting went well - only the 3of us, but we were all brief and succinct, so finished in 30 mins.

Tomorrow I am on a course, which is good and not so good. Good because it's one I like thesound of. And bad because 3/4 of my free periods fall on a Friday, so I miss all of them. Oh well. Next time I go on a course I'll make sure that it's not on a Friday!!!

I vow, here and now, to NOT consume sugar or grains for the rest of March. That's only 10 days. Please keep me accountable.

Our new breadboards have arrived so I can get rid of the old. The new toaster has been here for over a week. I just need (still) to join coeliac.co.uk....
