I ended up sitting with dd tonight - it was dh's turn but the car insurance renewal came through so he stayed downstairs to do some researching. Dd went to sleep pretty fast - this morning was an early start, so she jolly well should be tired!

So, in the end I got 3 tree halves knitted, an important but brief email sent, a few more emails deleted, and 1 paperwork TT done - renewed our car breakdown with Autoaid.

Oooh, and I went to pay over money I've saved this month with vouchers (5+1) plus 2 Sally Army bag credits (2+2). The account was sitting at £x20.00. Well, I was incapable of just doing the allocated £10, thought of rounding it up to £20 then decided against it. And did ...£120! Off the mortgage, cause I really want that number going down. However, there are still 3 food shopping days left in March, the last one being the 31st, so mustn't get too keen!

I want to start savings for dd. Any ideas? I've done absolutely no research myself, so I know I should really go and browse the relevant mse pages!

8 more items decluttered to the next Sally Army bag. Some of which are items we've had in the 'present cupboard' for years (think of when Woolworths was around!!) and I cannot think of anyone we'd give them to. Off they go to raise money and make others happy.

Enough wittering. I talk enough in the day - I should have run out of words by this time of night! Time to turn off the brain and switch to reading something on paper. Nighty night.

One to make Hbbb giggle: I walked into a cupboard door yesterday whilst putting the shopping away, and narrowly missed another!

Nooooo, you poor thing! I swear A*M we were definitely separated at birth (although you got the exercise gene obviously)! Hope you're OK, no bruising!

I know I loathe paperwork, so I keep putting it off. Yesterday I just did 1 piece. Today I shall do just 1 more. Now that I can manage!

It's exactly how I function, except I have a quirky 3 minute timer thing my mum gave me. I deal with as many bits of paper as I can in that time, surprising what you can do at times!

How typical for the school shut down when you're not there!

I'm noting your early morning posts too - there's something lovely about the early mornings at the mo, isn't there. I'm trying to make the most of it before the clocks go forward, of course it'll mean lovely longer evenings but the mornings will be a bit dull again for a few weeks.

Glad DD's doing OK ... do take care of yourself too!

I'm loving the mornings, Habi. I'm very much a morning person and need to really be in bed by 10. Unfortunately dh is an owl and can manage on significantly less sleep than me. For a while at least.

I got in an exercsie session this morning. 4 rounds of 8 exercises - workout 2 if anybody's interested enough to scroll back to when I was precision entering the data.

When I clonked my head, I giggled aloud as I thought of you. But it wasn't hard enough to leave a mark - just embarrassment! Like when I clean my teeth and manage to headbutt the taps...

School is open and unlikely to shut in the near future - darn it! Turns out the problem was that the Water Board hadn't turned the stop c0ck on again. It was a 1 minute job that took them til the afternoon to do, despite turningit off at 5.30 am. Pesky them. Tho the pupils don't think that.

This is my first free period of the week and I never seem to have the motivation to do any marking! On a day like today, it's lovely to sit by the window and enjoy the view and relax.

Thanks Habi for the encouragement to look after myself too. I was a stress bunny at work yesterday so have made a conscious decision to be calm and collected and just darn nice today! And it's worked.

Off now to do some browsing....

3 half trees knitted today plus another bag tp the Sally Army. It was a very low spend day as I got 2 Rainbow Magic books for dd for 80p! They retail at £4.99, so were bargainous indeed.

dd's school had an inset day so dh took a day off. He has fair worn her out, resulting in many evening tears for me to deal with. She's also coughing aplenty which isn't helping her get to sleep, poor thing.

I'm glad it's the end of the week, and the weather has been so lovely. It's a little odd to have to scrape ice off the windscreen, knowing full well that I'll not wear a coat or cardi on the way home.

The park that turned into a lake now has a big rubber duckie on it, lots of small rubber duckies and a shark fin! No wonder the traffic moves so slowly there! Last saturday there were people on there in a dinghy!

Tomorrow is tap + ballet classes. I shall try to scoot round the charity sjops while dd is in class, ending up at the big C00p to spend my £1 off £10 voucher. What excitement!

No exercise today, but no sugar either.

I'm grateful for having stuff I can give to charity shops, for the shark fin, to my dear mum sending dd another card, for having fresh bed linen and for hyacinths.

Ooh, what a successful day in the charity shops! Spent loads (for me, anyway) and also got loads! I gained some work trousers, a blouse, some blue shoes, 2 boxes of hair dye and a ball of green wool. And dd got the rest!

:xmastree::xmastree: 2 more trees are finished, another 2 need sewing up and 2 more (red ones because I had no more green wool!) need decorating + sewing. I'm also trialling knitted moss stitch lavender bags tho I'll have to wait till the lavender's bloomed to be able to count them as finished!

Dd's making the most of the time with her arm out of the sling - clambering over the climbing frame and using the twizzle swing to hang from. It doesn't hurt her arm, so I guess that's ok then!

Tomorrow is kids Klub, and a picnic lunch in the garden at dd's request. Hope the sun shines for us!

We have had a lovely day today. A leisurely wake up and off to church + kids klub where dd enjoyed herself; a picnic lunch out in the garden in the sun; dice games, a jigsaw, clothes dried outside, soup made, exercise done... And 1 tree complete so far!

No taps or cuphoards headbutted, but a car window left wide open that a lovely neighbour came and told us about.

I feel 'behind' on the knitting, but need to remind myself that it is a self-imposed target, not one set in stone.

Maybe I'm stressing about tomorrow early. Neighbour's dd still has a nasty ear infection so they have to go back to the doctor, and can't do the am school run. Another lovely friend will take dd for me, but she's a 5 mins drive away - the wrong way for work! At work, we have an 8.20am meeting; I have a full teaching day; at first break I'm seeing a child about her hearing as she wants to study gcse French but has quite serious hearing issues; at lunch I have a 'cluster' meeting, already postponed once; I have to rush away from work and get to dd's school for a governor's meeting by 4.30, which'll last a couple of hours.

Right, I need to stop twittering on here - ddis now asleep so I can legitimately return downstairs - and go and check I haveenough food prepared for tomorrow. Methinks I should hardboil a couple of eggs to have with the already made soup, plus an apple and almonds. There you go, feeling slightly less panicky now.

filia stertit, tho her daddy says she omly breathes deeply. Hah!

Ooph - survived my first governor's curriculum meeting. Not too bad, really, tho not my first choice of 'reasons to rush home'.

The day went better than expected, which was gratefullu received. We postponed (again!) the lunch meeting, which freed me up to eat my lunch instead of scoffing it.

Childcare needs sorting again as neighbour's dd is too poorly to leave the house so she can't take or collect for me. I get to do tomorrow as I don't work, then will be contacting friends and asking for help.

    Another tree finished - yay!

No paperwork done recently, so that's on my list for tomorrow. Along with food shopping, ironing, washing, washing up, tidying up my emails and replying to a specific 2, going to the chemist, more trees, marking, exercise, and to end it all, another parents evening.

Another NSD so well done me. And a good eating day.

Today I'm grateful for mobile phones, cancelled meetings, a smooth journey home, a friend having dd before school, and dd being so flexible and adaptable.

Ahh yes, that exciting freedom factor that comes with news of a cancelled meeting, wonderful!

Sounds like you're doing amazingly well with the knitting A*M, definitely no need to beat yourself up over the odd times it doesn't get done, especially when you consider the context of everything you do achieve from day to day!

Hope DD's feeling a bit brighter and on her way to being fully mended!

I was just about to say exactly what Hbbb said! You're doing astoundingly well on the knitting front, life always throws in a few extras that need taken care of so no need to worry. :) I'm in awe of how much you're managing to do - I feel like I've not got much done lately at all, and I don't even have the excuse of spending all the time reading diaries (as is the usual case!) because here I am again finally catching up. ;)

Poor DD & her collarbone! I hope she's healing up quickly, and enjoying her bespoke sling. :)

PS. What's the plan of actions for Saturday's now there's no rugby?! :(
