  • A good food shop completed. £60 of coins paid in to savings. Medicines bought for dh - and day/night nurse already successful in drying up his snot.

Have just - finally - finished the 4th owl. I have had reinforced just how much I loathe the sewing up and attaching bits part. Even dd has suggested I don't do any more owls, but find something else to knit :rotfl:. And i agree! Will have a trawl through patterns soon.

today I am grateful for my lovely dh leaving the car for us and getting public transport to + from work; for the lightweight aluminium ladder loaned to us, which I hope to use to wash the windows and sills tomorrow; for a quick chat with big sis; for finishing daddy owl; for fresh air.

Have been doing Tilly Tidies this month, but because all my direct debits come out within the first 2 or 3 days of the month, and don't use my debit card, so make no odd-numbered transactions, it can get pretty boring later on! So I have 'forced' money movement a couple of times!

Sd has repaid some more of the money she owes, so that'll get added to the mortgage soon enough.

More daylight has meant we can truly see the grime in the kitchen and would like to get a new one. Not very mse at all! It's a small space and has no integrated appliances. I'd like not to have tiles floor to ceiling. Hope we don't need a new boiler too..

On that cheerful note, I'm off to hit the knitting patterns :).

Whites washed, beds stripped (and re-made), exercise done, policeman knitted, dinner cooked, appointment accepted for dd to see a dietician, car MOT booked, packed lunches mostly packed for tomorrow, National Gallery researched, route planned. But nowt done re cleaning windows! Oh well.

Had a lovely day up in London with dd and dh. Has a not-so-good evening in A&E with dd and dh. Dd fell off a four-foot wall and ended up with a broken collarbone. Got home by midnight - ugh. And we're going back, to the fracture clinic on Tues as there was no tenting of the bone, or swelling around the break.

May keep dd off school on Mon + Tues... Will wait and see...

On to knitting matters: v glad to have finished the owls. Have since made a couple of policemen. May apply the pattern style to other ideas- hello kitty? Fireman sam?

dsd has repaid some more of what she owes us which is good news. Dh needs to pay it over, but at least it is in our posession.

Dd is being so good today. Am keeping her dosed up but she's pottering on with playing. I don't think I'd be such a good patient if it was my collarbone that was cracked!

Dh has taken a bootful of garden waste to the tip. We're all rather shattered, only getting home at midnight, so everything is happening slowly! Our lovely neighbour has just dropped off a dvd for dd, for being so brave. So a barbie dvd has had to take precedence over the rugby! Just when it's at 20-18 to Italy!

Dd has had a good day. She wanted to goto Kids Klub and since it was only for church kids this week, there was much less of a problem of her getting bumped. She was pale and clingy, but coped for the whole of it - well done her!

It made her realise how left out of the general melee she will be at school, and made me realise that it's daft to send her to school tomorrow. So I've made the decision to keep her off til Weds. And I'll find out what the school's policy is for administering Calpol for when she returns. My lovely neighbour has said that she can collect dd from school anytime and look after her if needed. She's such a blessing to me!

Dd nearly approves of my attempt at knitting Hello Kitty :rotfl:. I've done 2 policemen, will do a 2nd HK and then try a Fireman Sam. At least I'm having fun making them!

Eating-wise, things have gone to pot over the last 2 days. Far too much sugar (any sugar is too much!) and grains, especially today. So tea is the last grain intake and tomorrow is back to basics.

My bank account has a nice amount of money in it, and there are just 5 more sleeps til payday. One more main shop this week so I'm hoping for a healthy quantity to be left over and put off the mortgage or into savings.

So, and 'extra' day off work tomorrow. I've set the work for the pupils and hope it makes sense! But I don't expect to have much free time with dd around! Better set my sights and expectations low. I've written a 'to do' list, all of which is non-essential, but will be satisfying to cross off.

Off to get dd in to bed. May take a while....

Thank you sweetdaisy! I reckon I just have the ability to spin out what I do so that it sounds commendable!

Have had a lovely day pottering around. Dh got some shopping for me on his way home so we didn't have to go to the shops ourselves.

Dd and I spent a good hour in the back garden. I gave her a bowl of soapy water and a bucket of clean water. She used a scrubbing brush to clean up some garden pots while I cleared the patio and tended to a few plants. She came in wet and mucky so it was time to wash and change her. It was the first time she'd taken her vest off since Thursday, so quite an event! She was surprised to find that it didn't hurt her collarbone - me too! As she'd got the sling wet, she had to wait for it to dry out and was fine without the sling for a while.

However, she's now super tired! Got her in a lovely bath, which she enjoyed immensely. We have an early start tomorrow, so must set the alarm!

Knitting is continuing well! 2 Hello Kitties, 2 policemen and 2 firemen so far. I may decorate the trees for the cards one day...

Today I am grateful for the sunshine that dried the rug and blanket, the gorgeous crocuses that are out, for dd being so lovely, for veg to make soup and for my wonderful neighbour.

My earlyish start started early! I didn't sleep well, whether that's because dd was more unsettled, or because I kept dreaming and waking, I'm not sure. Anyhow, twas not a good night.

But today is a new day, a fresh start. Although the list of things to do could be endless, the important ones are to get to the fracture clinic on time and to do the food shop. My lovely neighbour's lovely OH offered us a lift to the hosp as he's working near there at the mo. But we would have been there 1 hour early and I thought it best for dd to get a little more sleep. Shame, as it would have reduced the stress of getting the busses in rush hour with a munchkin with a broken bone. Oh well.

I also wish to do a workout, have a bath and decorate the cmas trees ready to stick onto cards. And wash up, hoover the stairs, put the washing away ahd do another load, sew toggles on dd's big cardi, sort out the 'present cupboard' that has things in there that have been languishing for years!

I shall stop otherwise the list will keep growing!

Off to wash up and then wake dd.

  • We made it to fracture clinic with time to spare - phew! And dd has been discharged already. She needs to keep the sling on for 2 weeks and then can have time with it off - something she's not too keen to try out yet! Healing up should be quick with no long-term problems.

Shopping is all done too. Spent more than planned: g-f mini easter eggs as dd wants to do an egg hunt for me! Creme eggs cos they're a bargain! Flowers for lovely neighbour just because. So less than £4 overspend. There's a £5 off £40 spend voucher coming in the paper on thurs, so I'll get that for next week.

    washing up done
    washing done and hung up

Will make lunch soon then take dd to school - her choice! Gives me the chance to workout, bath, trawl thru presents... Then go and collect her!

  • Started my plan for March today. I've divided the month into 3 parts and written out what I need to do on particular days. It is one FULL month. Parents eves x3, governors meetings x2, open morning at work on a sat, ballet/tap lessons and rehearsals and show, plus dd has a party and an assembly I'd like to go to.

And the usual shopping, washing, housey jobs, exercise, grain + sugar free days, decluttering...!

Am very glad I have it all written down now, as none of this i cludes any plans/assessments/paperwork deadlines for my teaching!

There are times when I admire and emulate the ostrich's approach to life.

Anyhow, dd coped well with the afternoon at school and will definitely do the rest of the week. She was worn out by bedtime, and rather grouchy for once.

The car had its MOT today and cost a pretty penny - 35000 of them. We've not had to do any work on it for a year, so we reckon it's reasonable. And we are SO grateful that paying for it is not an issue now that dh has a job.

He was paid today - yippee! My pay'll go in on Fri and I'm looking forward to my money shuffling. My goals were based on the extra £800 pcm I'm currently getting. But my budgets are based on my salary without that extra and I try my darndest to save from that.

Did a little decorating of trees today, but the fiddly stuff takes so long! I pushed it hard in my workout (#1) and upped some of the weights, doing 6 rounds of each exercise. So I then had a lovely bath + hairwash that ate into tree decorating time. Oh well. They all have stars now.

Last night was not rstful and I'm flagging now. Dd is asleep and I really need to crawl in and join in with the snoring. Nighty night.

Grateful? For public transport, for a dr who was clear, concise and discharged dd, for dd skipping into school, for Barbie dvds and for my washing machine.
