Great work on the crafty front! & the exercise front
Hope your little critter has found lodgings elsewhere...a penny picker upper. MFW approx 78% to go | FIRE 3 years worth (30% savings rate: now aiming for 40%!) | Normality is a paved road; it's comfortable to walk, but no flowers grow on it | Whatever you're meant to do, do it now. The conditions are always impossible | The only thing you absolutely have to know, is the location of the library0 -
School survived; naughty children seen at lunchtime; ca1po1 (the right flavour) bought; workout done. :j
4x20/10: bicep curl (5K) 22; lying triceps extension (5K) 25; ball crunch 32; DB hammer curl (5K) 46; reverse crunch 28; Zottman curl (5K) 16. Missed out a couple of exercises as this is very hard on the arms and shoulders.
Tomorrow is a day off exercise and will coincide with my chosen day for sugar and grains. There's a cake sale at school so I've made some gf ones for the coeliac pupils (and me!).
I didn't knit any extra last night, so shall do some purple knitting tonight. Dh may be late home due to trains/weather, so I think tea will be egg and chips! Scrummy!
Critter seems to be absent. Either the light or the lynx effect drove him away....NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -

Unless he heard you do ball crunching as part of your daily routine ...!

Thank you Habi! Dh has a cold but WILL be well enough to cook tomorrow...!
Made 2 more hearts - yippee! Purple ones with contrasting pink stitching. Very girlie!
Tee hee to whatever was going through your mind at the concept of 'ball crunch'. It should have been 'gym ball crunch' but the gym ball is currently deflated in the loft (assuming critter hasn't scarpered with it...).ie a sit up on a ball, so you extend backwards and stretch your abs more and make them work harder. Having no GYM ball, I did them on the pouffe. Let's see your reaction to that, eh?! :rotfl:
Looking forward to my cakes tomorrow!NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -
:happyhear HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY:happyhear
Cake sale went well. Kiddies who I'd taken in special g-f cakes for were v grateful and appreciative. Raised well over £100 for their chosen charity - Downs. :T
Three of the RM books have arrived and dd is v happy :T. She's also v happy that it's now half term, so a week off, no need to wake up early. Bet she will, though!
As today was a chosen day to eat sugar and grains, I staretd by downing 2 of the cakes I'd got at work. Boy did I have what Sporticus would call a sugar crash! My face got all hot and I felt all urrgggie!
Home made chips are now in the oven, veg is steaming and steak is prepped and ready to be cooked. Can't wait! Got 2 free oranges in veggie box, so will slice them up and serve with whipped cream for pud.
May not get to the knitting tonight... If I take dd to ballet tomorrow then I can do some there; and if I don't take her, then I can do some here instead! Must admit, amd getting slightly bored of hearts, so need to find an equally quick, easy, enjoyable pattern to do.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -
Have knitted 4 green triangles - Christmas trees to stick onto cards. Found a pack of 10 'make your own' blank cards, so will make 10 Cmas cards to sell. Trees need decorating, stars, sequins(?), tinsel...
Steak was deeeeelishus. Too full for pud. Amd glad it's a day off exercise!
Back on the wagon tomorrow. No sugar, no grains, and workout number 1 again. May try for 5 or 6 rounds this time.... Steady girl!NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -
NSD 8 :j!
Dh is struggling with bugs and seems to have used up all his wellness at church + out for lunch. He says he's going to lie down on the sofa.
Got my next workout done: 5x20/10 DB chest press (5k) 40; DB squat (5k) 55; DB flye (3k)39; triceps extension (5k) 23 (6x for this, 3 each side); lunge jump 82; DB shoulder press (5k) 37; squat jump 73.
Avoided the tricep press up this time as I've somehow damaged my right hand. Went to open the car door and my hand kind of slipped off the handle and shooting pains shot up my middle 2 fingers and down through the palm of my hand and into my wrist. It catches every so often and is agony! (eg putting hand into back pocket to get door key out; picking up a lightbox of felttips.) Now have wrist strapped up, ibuprofen in my belly and am hoping it'll sort itself out soon.
Off to get dd to bed, then on to knitting. Have decided to try some sort of stripe on the heart. Maybe just on the one side...NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -
Had a lovely day out with dd yesterday. Trundling around on the busses, we must have visited 9 or 10 charity shops, and bought very little! The bargain-of-the-day was a bui1dabear bear for 50p! Took lunch with us and it was more snacky than lunchy, but sufficed. Dropped in to the D1sney Store for a mooch and dd was v good, coming away when I said. The same for the bu1ldbear store. She got to call for Tinkerbell and chase away the vilains in the DS and got a sticker.
We met an old work colleague for a coffee. I got to choose where, so opted for Pret where coffee's just 99p. Had a great natter! By the time we got home we were both worn out, so today is a pyjama day! :j:j Also a day off exercise as I did workout 3 yesterday (5 rounds).
Have set myself the target of knitting 10 items over 1/2 term - during the 5 actual days off, not including the 2 weekends too! Although I've knitted half a dozen tree shapes, they aren't decorated. That'd be an easy 6 to do! Ha ha! Have realised that although I've 'finished' the hearts, they have nowt to hang from as yet.
Just 10 days til payday. Hope to keep within budgets this month, tho SFD target wom't be hit!
We were planning a trip to mum's on thurs-fri but she's not really well enough for visitors, especially overnighting ones, so we prob won't go. Not been there for months, due to work and weekend commitments, despite trying to go. Must try harder!NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -
Can claim an unexpected NSD as dd didn't want to go out, but has agreed to come food shopping with me tomorrow.
Got most of the owl family done. None have eyes or beaks, but 3 have wings! Daddy owl still needs a head, but Im impressed with myself.
A supremely lazy day but dd's enjoyed herself, playing, dvding, playing, playing and playing!
As we're not travelling later this week, I shall re-allocate that money. We'll most likely take dd up to London for the day. She's super cheap to take, as we always take lunchbags and all she wants is an ice cream, a go on the carousel, and a couple of wishes in the Trafalgar fountains. Just hope dh gets rid of his cough and cold by then!
Back to exercise tomorrow. Shall try for 6 rounds of workout 1. Gulp! However, before that, I'm off to bed to snuggle with a book!NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -
Done: workout (6x!), washing 1, washing up 1, QT, bank coins, get meds for dh, visit charity shops, Aldee shop (lovely dh had left us the car so I could buy heavier stuff).
Yet to do: washing 2, daddy owl head, 4x eyes and beaks, washing up 2, strip bed. ALL DONE EXCEPT BED STRIPPING. FORGOT I NEED TO DO 2 WINGS TOO - DARN IT!
Dd has decorated a long-sleeved white tee shirt so that she looks more like Barbie in the film we're watching. Very cute. She comes and snuggles next to me when it scares her a bit. Then trundles off to join in with the dancing parts.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0
