    Another NSD in the bag!

This week is less fraught than last, thank goodness. Dd is struggling generally with school, life and stuff. She was very upset over various things last night - anout 90 minutes' worth of upset, poor mite. This evening has been better, but I have taken to sitting with her to help her get to sleep. I don't mind and it won't be forever.

The knitting has taken a back seat for a while, but I'm doing bits, and am not too far off from where I want to be at this stage of the month.

The weekend is looking super busy - school open morning on Sat. I'll get there on the busses (3, or 4, depending on which arrives first) but will prob have to leave the house by 7.30 to get there for 9. Ugh. Dh needs the car to take dd to tap/ballet, then they'll come along and get me.

On sunday me + dd have to go in one direction for her show rehearsals til 3.30pm. But she has a party in the other direction at 3! Logistically impossible, but we'll do our best! Will need a double lunch bag (need food for party cos nowt gluten free provided), and lots of costumes. I'll be staying at the rehearsals cos dd will need help changing, but am hoping to take the knitting with me....

    Ooph!

Open morning is done for anothrr 6 months. I do enjoy it but was so weary today. Left dh and dd the car for tap/ballet, so I was on the buses. Left the house at 7.30am for a 9am start. Made it fine, even getting a coffee from Pr3t - only 99p snd organic to boot. After, dh and dd were in town and I hadn'tplanned to meet them - was just going to come straight home. But dd wanted to meet up, so i stopped off and went to Pr3t again so dd could eat her lunch + i got snacks. Then she wanted to stay on so i got the buses home, getting here just in time for the 2.30 kick off.

Grabbed lunch and knitted one tree side before 1/2 time, then made more choc chop cakes in the interval. I'd shoved a wash on, so got that all on the airer.

Now the 2nd rugby match is on and dd wants the tablet to look up the mylittlepony website. Typical!

Not a NSD as bought a coffee, apple + crisps and milk. A little more planning might have helped, or getting dh to buy the milk. But I'm ok with spending! However, I'm not so ok with blowing the sugar-free-ness I sustained til 30 mins ago. Grrr to self.

Right, time to share the tech.

    I. Am. Worn. Out.

And I have been since Friday.

Took dd to her show rehearsal for 10 ish and they kindly let her out at 2, so we scooted over to the party. It was one where the music is simply blaring and I just couldn't handle it. I got a lovely mum to keep an eye on dd and sat outside - in the sun for the first time today! Dd was a sweetie and kept coming out to see me; and I duly trotted back in at feeding time. She enjoyed the games afterwards and won a prize too.

Got tomorrow's lunches done, dd's clothes set out. We're off to hospital again, to see the dietician. So more time off school for both dd and me.

Dh is sitting with dd to help her get to sleep so I'm also in bed, just finishing this, then off to the land of Nod myself.

Aha! I bagged another NSD today! The total is slowly creeping up. I hope to feel up to more decluttering and sorting and cleaning in the kitchen this week.

And I got several tree sides knitted too.

Nighty night to one and all.

10 hours sleep was good!! I've felt much more normal today.

We saw a lovely dietician who didn't criticise us at all. We got lots of praise for what we are doing, so I left there feeling buoyed up - a very good feeling indeedy!

Sepnt money on parking and loo roll. C00p didn't have the milk offer I'd heard about, so simply got 27 loo rolls to get my £1 off. And i now have another spend £10 and get £1 off. To be honest, i find their prices so overinflated, and I rarely get there for yellow stickers that reduce items to a decent price. Will just have to get 8 pints at Aldee.

    On the agenda tomorrow:
    - school run DONE
    - exercise DONE
    - bath (luxury!) DONE
    - mark gcse papers
    - AQA emails
    - library DONE
    - bank FORGOT - OOPSIE
    - Mr S DONE
    - Aldee DONE
    - PO to get dh's package POSTPONED
    - clear paperwork on dining table NOT YET DONE - I LOATHE PAPERWORK
    - clean and sort flours and starches DONE
    - knit IN PROGRESS ALONG WITH THE BELOW
    - watch recorded rugby IN PROGRESS
    - make rocky road DONE

Enough for now! Off to bed I go.

Busy times A*M! I can't believe it's so long since I caught up with you, work is just spilling into the evenings and before I know it, it's bedtime!

Glad DD is getting on Ok, but shame it's such an up and down road, poor little mite. She's so lucky to have you by her side though!

Glad you're ok too ... sounds bally sensible to knock the exercising on the head for a mo if you're feeling a little under par and not sleeping well.

Knitting progress sounds fab by the way, you'll surely have enough stock for your own Xmas stall come the season.

Re: kitchen cupboards, yup gleaming cupboards sounds like excellent reason to leave doors open but spare a thought for clumsy peeps in house - Mr Hbbb left a top cupboard door open on Saturday and someone who was completely distracted (...er, wonder who that could be) didn't see and smacked her face straight into it! :o

So, what news of cottage? Found somewhere lovely and MSE-friendly yet?

Hello Hbbb, thanks for popping over. I've had time to read the diaries and threads that I've subscribed to, but not had time to do much commenting or browsing.

Hope your spillage of work into the evenings has been a good sort.

Dd is so much better, thanks. She got nearly 12 hours sleep on Sunday night, which her little body jolly well needed! The collarbone is mending well, insomuch as she jars it less. She can still run pretty fast and leap around like a loony.

The knitting is my relaxation. Even if I only finish with dd at 9pm, returning downstairs to do a few rows is satisfying stuff. The trees are simple, and I made a class set 2 Christmases ago, when it took me from September til Dec to do them. And now I'm half thinking of doing 31 in March alone!

Yep, exercise has been on the back burner since about Thurs. I've generally maintained pretty good eating habits, so that's stopped me having an emotional slump, and has helped me cope. Weight loss is slow but heading in the right direction. I hope to do a reduced workout today.

Cottage plans have not happened yet - oopsie. Thank you for the reminder! We are using a friend's flat at Easter for a few days - dh doesn't have too much accrued holiday yet, and although he gained some days whilst in S Africa, he had some time at 1/2 term and is taking a day this week, so we don't want to use it all up too soon!

Well, rather an epic post for this time of the day, eh? The birds are tweeting away outside, dd is still asleep, I have my coffee by me that dh made before leaving for work. A good start!

Now I just need to re-visit my to do list....

    :xmastree::xmastree::xmastree:

3 more trees finished last night, despite sitting with dd til nearly 9pm.

A thoughtful evening, having been asked by NSKif/how I'd manage if dh was too ill to work. Very thought provoking. We met when I was 30, working, no debt, a house-owner, so I've 'done' that and know I could do it again. But with dd in tow this time!

It made me realise how much we could get rid of and sell or cash in, in order to bring down the mortgage. And when dh was unemp, oyed last term, my sums (which may not be 100% accurate!)reckoned we could survive on my (then) 2 days a week income. It would be super tight, no hols, no unplanned spends. And we'd have to get the bills down more.

Have heard a few people have bought Jack Monroe's cookbook. Was thinking of jumping on the bandwagon, but need to browse it first, as there's no point me getting a book full of glutenised recipes!

Aha! I MUST join coeliac organisation. I MUST. I MUST. I MUST.

However, off to work today, so can postpone joining for several hours!

All the pupils, bar sixth form, were sent home yesterday, as the water board had cut off water to the school! Not had that one before! Shame it happened on my day off though!

One to make Hbbb giggle: I walked into a cupboard door yesterday whilst putting the shopping away, and narrowly missed another!

I know I loathe paperwork, so I keep putting it off. Yesterday I just did 1 piece. Today I shall do just 1 more. Now that I can manage!

Another bagful went to the Sally Army today, and I resisted the urge to buy some beads. I thought, "Why spoil an NSD for 99p?" Result!

Tea is leftovers. Dh made a shepherd's pie with leftover roast lamb, and it's done 2 meals each so far, with another one just about do-able. Well done him.

No exercise today, but am planning to do it early tomorrow morning instead. Honest guv....

Sewed dd a new sling yesterday, which she loves. She is so easy to please sometimes, it's lovely. She can now start to take her arm out for short periods of time.

Tonight it's dh's turn to sit with dd, so I plan to knit some trees. 8 are complete with 3 more ready for stitching, but would like to get more shapes knitted so I don't fall too far behind my target.

I thinki the one piece of paperwork a day is the key - I keep leaving them until my day's off and then just crash out or find myself with SO much to do... one piece is a great idea.

Doing just 1 piece is the Tilly Tidying of paperwork! TTs are so applicable to all areas of life - thanks to Tilly for the inspiration and proof that little bits really DO add up to something substantial.
