A day of grrr and ooh so far.
Got my 3 buses no probs and dropped off the SA bag. They had an 'everything for £2 or less' day(didn't know this when went) so had a thorough mooch. You can't try stuff on there but you can return it, so had 2 pairs of jeans and a shirt for dh. Got to till to be told that they weren't taking the credit vouchers today. I ho estly did not have £6 on me and said that as I hadn't got the money I'd put them back. One of them suggested using a credit card, but I said I'd leave it, and I left. Outside the shop, I realised how much this had thrown me. I had a slow wander up the high street, muttering to myself! Then decided to go and pay in the cheque and get out some cash and go looking in the other 6!charity shops in the area.
I had a good time trying on lots of jeans, but none were quite right. I 'treated' myself to a coffee from N3ros, using a full up reward card, and was served by a lovely girl who offered an extra shot in my americano instead of less water, which is what I'd asked for.
Managed to 'run' for the bus without spilling much coffee and the other 2 buses came without much of a wait.
Sooo, I then went to the local shops to get dh's prescription - AND HAD TO PAY FOR IT - grrrrr! Although he is going to buy the tickets for Drus1llas, which are in my budget, so I do win, really!
And I took the opportunity to go in 2 more ch shops! And got some jeans on the £1 rail. Result! And a belt for £1. And some curtains for the back bedroom for £8.50. Oops!but yay!too.
got home all fired up to exercise. Ready? It's called 'Fierce Friday'.
4x:
- 20 jump squat with knuckle touchdown
- 15 skater each leg, with touchdown
- 20 reptile
- 20 1 leg hop + kick
Took me 10m27. Then I got on the stepper and did another 21 mins on that, increasing the resistance every 200 steps.
Today's step count is over 10k so far! And I have been consciously relaxing my shoulders and neck and using the rucksack on both shoulders. In a relaxes manner, of course.
Enough wittering. Time to go and shorten the jeans by at least 6". That'll be sewing project #2 then!NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -

5 cards finished, so knitting total updated.
New curtains hung up and looking good!
And only dd to collect from school - end of term - yippee!!NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -

Hurrah for holidays! Though I'll let you keep the marmite

Yet another spendy day. Took dd to toysrus - first ever visit - and split the buys 50/50. She also wants to go the smythstoysuperstore when we go to gma's so I told her to limit her spends here, so as to leave some for next week. I was happy with what we got - 1 thing was 1/2 price, another was a decent price, and because both were barb1e, the cheapest one was half price. So only £8.11 spent by each of us.
Then picked up a couple of Rainbow Mag1c books off book of face - 4 at 50p each. Result: a happy child!
And dh went and got the bed base so now we have all the parts to make the bed. Some are the worse for wear for being in a garage for 2 years - bit rotten, maybe. But I aim to give them a clean tomorrow and assess the damage.
We returned home mid-afternoon, and I had another headache starting, despite doing the relaxation malarky stuff. Figured I might need a coffee and it worked! I realised that with working 4 days and having good coffee available there, I've been frequently having a lot of the stuff. Especially the 4 weeks after dd broke her collarbone.
So, now it's time to keep an eye on my consumption and reduce it.
I've also decided to limit/reduce my screen time, as my right eye is supersensitive to flickering screens. Hmm, I may need an eye test...
And with that, I'll sign off for tonight!NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -

What a busy start to your holidays A*M, you've certainly packed a lot in!

^ this ^ seriously? Do you know how bad my balance is? 1 leg hop + kick would also end up with knuckle touchdown, I fear!
I can do a reptile though! A snake? It lies down right? :rotfl:

Coffee consumed and another pot brewing as I type - it'll be 2 hours since the first one, so a decent space of time.
And a workout done too! :j 60 burpees with press up. Took me 10 mins 25 secs, so I wasn't very quick, but I realised that after the first half dozen!
Dd is up and cheerful, dh too! So we'll soon be off to church and kids klub - for once dh isn't on PA - yay!
So, Hbbb, 60 burpees, eh...? There's a challenge you could try...?Thanks for popping by. I also was not going to buy more clothes, but managed to break the zip on my jeans, so had to get more. If the eating and exercising keep doing their job, then I'll fit into plenty more clothes that I already have!NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -
Another pair of gloves completed - 10 items now.
Having got what we thought were all the parts of the bed for dd, we've discovered that 1 big part doesn't belong with this bed. And other bits are missing. And dd has categorically stated that it needs a ladder and she doesn't want it. Oh dear.
I think we may just bite the bullet and buy her a new one!
So far, I seem to have the coffee balance right. The head is behaving itself.
Just realised that today has been spend-free - yippee! Number 3 in the bag.
Today is dsd1's 1st wedding anniversary. So, a year ago, we were up a mountain in the Canadian Rockies, experiencing the most stunning wedding I've ever been to. The ceremony was up a mountain in the snow, and the bridal party then skied or snowboarded down the mountain - a black run - with the photographer going backwards whilst snapping away. Sigh.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -
Here beginneth the NSD challenge. Up to now, it's been my personal challenge, but now there is a week with me + dd, followed by a week with me+ dd + dh, away.
Dd and I are off to bham on the train on Tues, back on Thurs. I reckon I can keep the travelling spend-free... One of the lures of bham is gma; the other is the nearby smythstoysuperstore!
So, I need to keep tomorrow spend free, to have a hope of reaching 15... I think dd needs a pyjama day and it'll give me time to pack in a leisurely way. Must take car booster seat, gma's presents, gf food for dd. Plus clothes and entertainment for us both. AND COFFEE + PLUNGER. Gma is sadly lacking in the finery of decent coffee! Pah!NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -
The first real day of the hols with dd, and she has slept til 8ish. Good start!
I am surprisingly stiff in the shoulders after yesterday's burpees. But coffee has been consumed and the head is fine.
Dd is now singing as she descends her ladder - so sweet. And at least she's stopped hollering for me as soon as she wakes up!NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -

I tend be tense across the shoulders, I think it's just a habit I've got into, especially on working days!
It's a habit I want to breach, so I think proactive relaxation is something I need to try too!Early retired - 18th December 2014
