Thank you for dropping by SSS. My but you've written a lot of posts!

The vienetta is finished and we are back home, so a return to yummy vanilla for now!

Dd did well on the travelling, tho we were both very pleased to get home. Car, train, train, train, bus, walk= enough to wear us out! We popped up to Aldee - in the car - to shop, and have since pottered at home. Dd is shattered and almost ready for bed now! So an early tea, relaxing bath and fingers crossed for an early sleep.

The Frugality fairy flew out of the window today. A couple of drinks from C0sta and a magazine for dd for on the trains. Dd didn't really enjoy her 'juicy water' - should be called 'watery juice' instead! But it's a £7+ spend that I'll live with!

However, I did knit a dress thingy for one of dd's dolls today. I got the sizing all wrong and it's massive, but may now fit a bigger dolly!

Dh returnes from Paris tomorrow middayish and is then with us for 11 days. Gulp! So much time together! Must ensure I keep exercising and eating well. Today I AM back on the bandwagon of eating right. Tea'll be baked tato with butter, beans and cheese. Yum!

Need to add up my spending totals later on. I think I'd rather avoid this, but it's a bit too early in the month to not do it!!

Ha ha! Dd has the last laugh - yet again. The dress thingy I'd knitted that was too big has now been trimmed with scissors!

    Tomorrow WILL be a NSD.

    Aspirationally, I shall:
    - go to tip
    - trim stuff in garden (ideally before going to tip so can take it with)
    - exercise
    - sweep
    - finish pesky GCSE paperwork I brought home
    - change bedding and do a whites wash
    - weigh less (ha ha ha)
    - tidy downstairs
    - and of course, play with dd, knit, read and relax!

That'll do for now. Here beginneth the bedtime routine...

For the first time since she broke her collarbone a tthe end of Feb, I've told dd she's going to sleep on her own - without me in the room. She took it ok, and I think she's now asleep. Although recent nights show that she may still be awake at 9.30! And there are ominous creakings at times upstairs...

I ate tea early so that if I was caught up with her then at least I'd eaten. Then I decided to do a workout. Daft idea but worth it so far.

Silent killer: 20x 10/30 (cut that back from 10/50)
1 Lunge squat Left with 26lb sandbag 10/10
    2 Sandbag squat 11/10
    3 Lunge Right 9/11
    4 Squat 10/11
5 Reverse push up (on pull up bar) 10/11
    6 Squat 11/9
7 Hanging knee raise (on pull up bar) 10/10
    8 Squat 11/8
9 Sandbag crunch (sbag on lower legs at 90 degrees) 10/12
    10 Squat 9/8

Some of the squats were tricky to get up from! Walking down the stairs later was wobbly! And tomorrow will be interesting. However, I want to do another workout tomorrow, tho will choose a lighter one.

Off to peruse workout book and not aim too high/hard/heavy. Hmmm, don't think I have any that involve sitting on my butt with the tv on. Must look harder...

That'll do for now. Here beginneth the bedtime routine...

    - tip postponed as dh home later than I thought
    - front gdn done and a bagful of waste for the tip
    - exercise done: 10 mins of get-up + step up. Did 77! Go me!
    - sweep done
    - pesky paperwork POSTPONED til 22nd!
    - bedding and washing done
    - weigh less - ha ha :rotfl:
    - tidy - some done
    - play, knit, relax all done too

Also had 2 other girls here on and off for the most part of the day.

Knitted more fingerless mitts - a nice autumnal green and cream really thick wool. May give them to dd's teacher at the end of the year as she suits those colours.

With all the weeding plus knitting, my hands are worn out.

Dd got herself to sleep well, tho was up soon after 7am. Pesky mite! Doesn't she know she's on holiday?

Talking of hols, I'm looking to book a cottage or similar in the NE for a week as soon as dd's term finishes. My best friend's over from Spain at her mum's, with her 3 kiddies. Her niece will also be there, so it's a full house. I want to see her, hence the cottage. I was going to get one via cott4you, but the only one accepts animals amd I'm stupidly allergic to them. So am hunting via g00gle. A busy night ahead, methinks!

So, there are just 99 days til we go. Doesn't sound much put like that!! A chance to think about what I'd like to achieve in that time... The ones that spring to mind are consistent good eating and exercise (with accompanying weightloss, please), knitting targets, decluttering, getting school prep for sept+ done when exam classes go on study leave, cycle more (any would be more than now!), exam board moderating. That's just for starters. But given that I rarely get through my day-to-day to do list.....

That'll be nice, to have a break to look forward too.

I've never been to the NE before, but would like to visit, as I'm keen to go to the Beamish museum. Hopefully will get up there one day.

    Today I might ...:

    - go to tip with fence and bag of greenery
    - make dd a den/tent
    - mow the back
    - do a packing list for next jaunt
    - exercise
    - make hearts - use dd's red fleece slanket thingy that was a wasted purchase, athough only £2, to make the back
    - do 15 mins paperwork
    - take bag to Sally Army

Booked the cottage last night - paid for out of savings. I went for the one that takes pets in the end, as others around the same price were teeny tiny apartments. Will just have to stock up on antihistamines. Paid for it in full, so won't have to remember later! Goldiegirl, I've not been to Beamish either, tho the rest of my family have, and thye've said how good it is. We're going to be right on the coast but near the metro - just as well as we're going by train. Am hoping for plenty of beach play...

Been to the tip, made the den and mowed the back, plus did the edges and pulled up a few undesirables and got the weedkiller out. Now the old fence bits are gone, the rasps can grow. Last year they were rampant as I'd not cut them down! So last winter, I pulled up a lot of them. Hmmmm. There are a fair few bare patches there at the mo... Not sure of what I could plant there for this year...?

I've made 2 hearts using the fleece. Success!

Bag to SA will have to wait.

Packing list started. Only away Sun to Thurs, I think.

    Exercise and paperwork to go...

Did the paperwork :j:j:j And a workout :T:T:T.

Had a quick chat with dh about money. He's now 3 months into his job - but is still within the 6 month probationary period. His take-home pay is lower than the previous job, but we count ourselves very blessed that he has a job he quite likes, and that we were able to use the redundancy money to pay a wodge (technical term) off the mortgage.

Anyhow, the mortgage is coming down, which is always good. Don't reckon we'll be looking into anything like BTL. I have a teacher's pension, due when I'm about ??? (ish), but which is a decent pension scheme. But having been part-time for many a year, I could do with dumping some money in it while I'm still young enough to benefit from it. Research required.

And the savings are slowly creeping up. Around this time of year we seem to have all the big payments out. Boo.

I think that the main outgoing that is in my control is the food budget. I've been able to reduce it month on month since Dec last year - not necessarily by much, but better than increasing it. So, I shall keep on keeping my beady eye on it.

April's bank account is doing ok, despite the oopsie extra payment out at the end of March. Phew.

    Enough wittering!!!

The NSD total is slowly creeping up- yippee!

We are all down on the south coast for a few days, which is lovely and peaceful. We brought dd's scooter so we can walk a bit further when out and about.

Still all in jamas, Cbeebies on (tweenies) and breakfasts being consumed. We're off laterto hunt for a particular playground that dd's seen on the 'play!' programme. Hope we can find it!

I brought my knitting along and did 3 fishies last night. Not stuffed, no eyes, not fully stitched up, but 'finished' other than that.

Dd has decreed that I should do a workout later and not now, so I shall obey. Might do Silent Killer with no weights and substitute a few exercises. Hmmm, sounds too finicky. May do 12 mins of dive bomber + pike press jump....

Time to make another coffee and think about getting dressed.

Oh lovely, enjoy your hollibobs, apple muncher :)

Good idea to pop some money in the pension fund, my mum is just now looking at hers after doing part time for years and it's not the nicest of pictures. Definitely worth looking into what you can do now to top it up x
