Lilty, I'll send the book on to you when I'm done with it. I wasn't planning to buy it at first, but think I'd like to understand the MK mentality for myself, not second-hand. I'm taking it away with me, so hope that the delay in being able to get going (again) will be a positive step.

Just about to call the out of hours dentist. My rubbish teeth. Again. If I can't be seen today, then dh is going to buy some tooth cement stuff and stick it back in for me!!!!!!!!!!! Not sure whether I prefer that (and then seeing my own dentist once we are back in Blighty), or paying a stupid amount for a real dentist today.

Hope HIM enjoys playing with the surprise and ensuring it is fully functional!! And also hope Jelly is nicer to be with today. Don't think they so strait (sp?) jackets that small...

Went the diy route on my tooth, as I wasn't considered an emergency...

Dh took dd'to dance, the she and I went on an assault course, did some archery, ran round a field playimg mad games, helped'build a bonfire and toasted many a marshmallow. She went straight in the bath when we returned home! Thoight she'd fall adleep quickly tonight. Ha! How wrong I was. She's STILL finding things she HAS to tell me. Can I throttle her? Please...!

Tomorrow will be here too soon! Only have the food to pack now, amd last-secomd checks. I hope!

What can one say to a child who worries that 'something bad' will happen while we're away?

She is now in tears. Oh me oh my...

HAHAHA at DD being awake after all that. Feel free to throttle. I am not judging at all. Mine came perilously close at 4am that or having the covers superglued to her hands and chin.

My mum has been DIY'ing her tooth in for years with tooth cement. She now has one of those teeth on a plastic gum thing, don't know what they are called. Anyway she spent so many years putting it in herself she left a hole too big to do anything with in her jaw and the gum just disappeared. So much as I think it was a great idea and MSE for a one off, don't do it too often - her new set up was £600+ of work to have done.

As for what to say to DD... I am honestly at a loss. I really don't know what you would say. Feel for both of you!

MK book, you can't give it away!! Surely it would be a keeper to keep referring to? Am having a look for one

She finally went to sleep when I snuggled down beside her. When she gets off to sleep within 30 mins, then all is ok with the world. Any longer and the woes of everything descend. Poor mite.

Anyhow, she is asleep and I am about to power down the PC and pack it ready for adventuring.

Adventurising is in progress. Managed to miss the m25 turn off to terminal 4!!!Oopsie - sure it wasn't where it was last time I looked! But we were only 5 mins 'late'. Baggage all gone through, coffee shop found, dh has logged me into wifi and dd is happily playing subway surf.

The last 2 times we did big flights were out to Canada and snow, so our bags were chocabloc full of ski wear. Dd bag is so empty she could probably fit in it too! Mil said she has some things for us, so what size they are in unknown - gold ring or manky bookcase?!

Dh has stood up so time for us minions to shift along...

Oh yes, greent! Absolutely right! Have read about half the book - took it slowly on the plane. And when the 7yo next to you, despite being really good, has had enough of the 8 and a half hour flight, trying to focus on something isn't possible.

The first descent was awful - thought I was going to be sick. Dd and I slept on the 2nd flight for over 2 hours. Got all checked in by about 4am home time, but 6 hours behind here.

So it is 7am here and still dark outside! Must check su rise time...and make sure we're not all up in the middle of the night...!


WHY do they have toilet seats that don't go all the way round, eh? Me and dd do NOT like them!

Off to seek good breakfast...

So, we are in market square in Fredericksburg, in the outdoor Kinder Halle seating picnic area. Shaded. Temp in the sun is around 28 degress - and that's on a breezy, fairly overcast day! There is a 'toy' yet functioning water wheel and a play area that dd is making the most of. Relaxing indeed

Dd has announced that when she goes to university, she is going to study fairies. Go girl!

When I was at school my friends 4 year old sister announced that when she grew up she was going to be a Tiger. :rotfl: me too kid... me too!!!

Your trip sounds fab right now. Much jealous!!! Keep on relaxing, you deserve it!! How is DD sleeping?? xx
