Best get started...
Am getting there.
Played 'beat the bus' from the dentist (down the road) to the dr (up the road and round the corner). I lost resoundingly. To 4 buses! But I had a lovely walk in the sunshine before the hail started.
Lunch has been a gentle one after the filling: clean 'pancakes' with raspberry, blueberry, apple and cream. Yum. I even licked my plate!NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -
No bunnies - oops! Only want to get 3 arms sewn up and then attached.
Got a bag of rubbish from our teeny garden - some of it was from bonfire night! Had planned to mow, but the morning's wetness put paid to that.
Couldn't face the email cull, but have started a pile for packing, so some success has been had. And dd and I had a good chat while I washed up.
I now own the Marie Kondo book - smug face is on. Do I read it now or save it to take to Texas... Dh got me the hunger games trilogy for Cmas and I plan to take 1 of them too.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -
Hmmm. Not many clothes bring joy. I know others realised this sooner in the process, I'm just a little slow at times. And too chubby for them too. So I do have enough 'nice enough' clothes for texas, I think, but would much prefer to stay at home in my tracky trousers and hoodie.
Went to an FGB meeting, 6-8.15pm. Came home and scarfed tea, 5 mins into which there's huge sobbing from upstairs from dd, so brought her down to sit on sofa while I finished. I am still waiting for her to grt to sleep. All the body parts that could hurt have done so, ibuprofen given. Always like this when I need to go out amd then deal with the 'fallout'. Never seems to happen the other way round, eh?
Ho hum.
Tomorrow's my last day of work, then 3 weeks off - yippee! I love Thursdays too.
4 more sleeps...NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -
Last day before the hols. Dh is taking dd to school so I get some me-time before heading off.
I'm so proud of my pupils, especially the y11s who have worked so hard and their recent written assessments were a pleasure to mark. I don't teach them today so will be seeking them out to let them know their marks and how impressed I am with them. (and I also have a ton of biscuits for them!)
Started on the packing yesterday and gathered most of dd's and my clothes. Selecting them is so much easier when you can see them all in the drawers - thank you MarieKon!
Breakfast is calling so I must away and scoff it down.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -

Thanks guys! 3 more sleeps to go..!
Both dh and I are off work tomorrow, so are off to find some bone china mugs for mil, as she has specifically asked for them. Whittards or m&s should provide something nice. We may drift into a coffee shop too... The calm before the storm of packing and actually getting to the airport on time.
Sat night we all lose an hour's sleep and then we gain about 6 after all the flying backwards!NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -
Cor blimey! Bone china mugs are like hen's teeth! Especially ones wiht a decent design on them... Anyhoo, we got out currency from Debnums and got a £5 voucher if you spent £20 there today. WE scouted the mugs, then did Whittards, then M&S then bhs then next then laura ashlee. Oh boy. Plenty of fine china and porcelain (think toilet bowls!!!) and v little bone stuff.
Yet we managed it - debs and next produced the goods, 4 from each with a total spend of £44. Gulp.
Then a trawl through hotel choclat and 9 slabs and £28 lighter, we were done. all done before the free parking ran out. We even saw a train aswe went over the line - won't tell dd as she'll be well miffed she wasn't there.
3 more bunnies completed. I cut out and sewn but not stuffed will have to wait.
Need to copy a knitting pattern and ensure I have adequate wools for it. All to go in the hold, mind you, along with the darning needle and scissors.
But first a shower, as I have megggggga skanky hair.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -
Another tooth issue. This time, a crown has come off leaving a peg bit of tooth. Woe is me! Called the out of hours place and there was nowt left today. Need to call agaim tomorrow morning. Failing that, dh and a tube of superglue...
More bits achieved towards packing, mostly toiletries and hair things left to do now. And food for 24 hrs. I know the airlines will feed us, but knowing we have a load of dd-worthy food will ease the travelling.
The bag size you are allowed in the hold is massive. Even our 'big' bags don't measure up.
Off for a mooch...NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -
