    Propose to him.

And if he isn't too hot on the romance side of things, push the legal/financial side of marriage. There are certain things that can only be achieved by marriage - it is more than just a piece of paper.

What are your reasons for wanting to be married?

You get nice presents and stuff.

I've always wanted a nice set of pans by Le Creuset.

Men love themselves first, and one or more "interests*" second, their family(Mum, Dad, siblings...) third........partners are a poor 4th at best.
*The "interset" may be drinking, football, mates, sport, gambling, career, gym, steam engines, vanking, whatever.....any number of things...maybe many of them.....but their partner??? always at the end of the list.

Advise you learn to rely on yourself, girl.

They are made differently to us!

Its just our bad luck if we want to mate heterosexually.:(

p.s. being "legally married" to a male isnt always an advantageous position to be............

    It means hope this helps.

You just need to sit down and explain over time you do want to marry him and you definitely want that to be part of your future.

As many of them are over pension age and I've known them for many years, I know them quite well.

Most men would probably prefer not to get married ... so will need coercion if that's what the woman really wants.

Nah, this just isn't true. Jeez, if I suggested to my husband that I'd coerced him into marrying me, he'd snort with derision. He does have his own mind! He wanted to be married to me, plain and simple. We're not different species, us birds and fellas.

How's your love life, by the way? Still keeping shares in Duracell high?

    Yep!

    I'm happy though, are you?
