I gave up making cards and I've found some heat n bond and also some heat transfer vinyl .

So I made some vest slogans up with the heat transfer vinyl, my DD asked for some more this year and as it such a lovely day I thought about the vests I bought for £2 in primarni.

    Here they are

Hope your all enjoying the sun :-)

Made two more items this morning but i would happily have never made anything crafty again than have to do these. My cousin lost his son last night, barely over a year old, so the two things are sympathy cards. It's a hard thing to make at the best of times but when it's for a child it's almost impossible.

I'm so very sorry to hear about your cousins wee one, I can't imagine what they're going through {{ hugs }} .

I'm loving everything that's been made what a talented bunch you all are. I've made the flag bits for the bunting I want for my daughter coming home and I'll try and get some bias binding tomorrow to finish it, I've only managed to do it because my oh has gone up north to see one of his sisters, I found the hardest part of the bunting was tying to figure out the best size to make it and I'm hoping I've managed to get it right 😂, I'm thinking that each of my grandbrats might be getting some bunting that they can put up possibly every year on their birthdays, I like the thought that it could be used for many years to come :T.

Fabulous shoes rufus: a question. When you have decoupaged them, what do you use to coat them to make sure the paper doesn't come off? Varnish, or pva glue... I'm very tempted to make a pair of those myself, but don't have the comics......... (yet!)

Thank you Susan: I'm going up to Manchester to visit a friend, her daughter has just had a baby so I'm going up for cuddles too!

Hi Chris, I used Mod Podge glue to stick the comic scraps to the shoes. I rubbed them first with some sandpaper to get rid of the shine so it would stick better. After sticking down a few bits (about 2 inches worth) I got a bit of clingfilm, laid it over the top, and rubbed hard with the side of the brush handle. This stuck everything down nice and firm and got rid of any bubbles or corners sticking up etc. I also had to snip bits here and there to make it lay flat over the really pronounced curves. The clingfilm was then ripped back off and thrown away using a new bit for the next part and so on. Once the shoes were covered completely with scraps I added some extra bits that I had cut out special, like some faces and some quotes in bubbles, that kind of thing and stuck them on the top so they showed up better, rubbed them with the clingfilm again. Next I covered the whole lot with more layers of the Mod Podge. It gives them a waterproof coat (so says all the tutorials I have read). I have given them 4 coats at the moment. It says on the tub to give 5 so I am going to give them one more, then I have bought some acryllic varnish which is a spray. I think I bought matt as I thought this would suit comics better. I will give them a couple of coats of this too, then see how they look.
