Condolences from me too. loosing children always feels much worse. We lost one of my nieces at 8 months old. So sad.
I have brought out an old patchwork that I was doing last year, thought I had better work on it again, and try and get it done sooner rather than later.
It is one that I am hand sewing when watching TV at BF's.When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
More using up of my stash.
I have just finished making a Birthday present for my eldest Daughter.
Birthday is at the end of April. I had a very small amount of fabric
left from making her lounge curtains. I used some upholstery samples to make
the base and give length to the handles.
I used a cotton sheet as backing and lining & added wadding to the fabric.
I found 6 matching buttons in my stash and some cream cotton trims. She
does a bit of crochet so I thought she could use the bag in her lounge for
storage of that craft.
It is difficult to know what to give as presents when my children have a lot
more money than me. So I go for a hand crafted gift as it is then unique.Decluttering Achieved - 2023 - 10,364 Decluttering - 2024 - 8,365 August - 0/45

Well done on the bag Florenceem, its lovely fabric and I love the lace you added, makes it look so pretty xx
Mooloo, glad you got the quilt out again xx
I made a start on the shoes, had to cut the paper up smaller than I had already cut it to make it go over the curves without bumping but I am pleased with the way it is going. I have covered one whole shoe and started on the back of the other one. Too tired to do anymore today now.0 -

Sorry for your loss emslovenickey - thoughts are with you and your family.

I gave up making cards and I've found some heat n bond and also some heat transfer vinyl .
So I made some vest slogans up with the heat transfer vinyl, my DD asked for some more this year and as it such a lovely day I thought about the vests I bought for £2 in primarni.
Here they are

Well, nothing really to report on the crafty front as I've been busy tidying the house and today was so lovely that I spent most of it out in the garden decluttering ivy from one of the fences..... Gosh that stuff grows.... have filled the big brown wheelie bin plus 3 giant black sacks and still not finished.
I'm hoping to do some crafting tonight, haven't decided what yet, might work on the Orders of Service for the wedding. The papier mache letters (Mr & Mrs) have arrived so I've got those to do now as well. I'm going away on Tuesday for 6 days to visit a friend, so might not get anything done then either. I'm really going to be suffering withdrawal symptoms when I get back!
Be back later when I have something to report.Keep Calm and Carry On Kondoing
