tattycath, you'll have fun making a quilt. Just to add to the others' answers re wadding, if I'm making a baby playmat, or something similar that is likely to be washed frequently, I use polyester wadding -4oz or 6oz weight is best. I used to buy this off the roll, but I find it much cheaper (because I make quite a few) to get a bag of wadding for a king size quilt from John Lewis. I then machine quilt through all the layers before I bind it. If I make a quilt for snuggling like the memory quilt, I don't use wadding at all but back it with fleece fabric. In that case I either quilt as above or put a couple of stitches through both layers at every patch corner. It's tedious, but it hardly shows.
mooloo - well done on getting that apron order.
Thanks for this greentiger.
I'm looking forward to getting started on a quilt. I just have to get more stuff made first.
I still need to make another draught excluder and some curtains and a Mother's Day card.GE 36 *MFD may 2043

Won't be stash busting today. Well I will but it will be works stash I recycle not mine. But I get paid to do it. Needs must.
Had a wedding dress fitting last night. Brides lost another load of weight and dress now needs to be taken in again. So stash will have to wait.
Rufusdog I look forward to seeing the shoes! When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
I'm afraid I'm getting nothing done now that him that thinks he must be obeyed has retired, I've got plenty ideas and things waiting to be done but I'm finding having oh in the house a pain in the backside
. I have nearly finished the dog coat with legs I started but Ellie ( my Bichon) won't walk in it so when it's finished it'll be looking for a new home with someone else.

Thanks for the welcome!
As my baby boy actually decided to sleep this morning for a bit and the house was tidy from a viewing yesterday; I managed to get some cards made today. My daughter is starting to be invited to birthday parties so needed some cards in reserve for those. Also thought I should be super organised and make some for Christmas as well so have made another 5 today taking me to 9
Baby boy is starting to scream now so that was a short-lived sleep! Be back soon :wave:Craft BustingCards 21/50Gifts 11/200 -
I had 1 kid's card to make, so I just finished the topper sheet and made another 2! So I also used up 2 sheets of A4 card and 3 cards and envelopes

I also made a card for my daughter's anniversary in a couple of weeks, so a wee bit more going out (equivalent of 1 piece of straw in a haystack, unfortunately - ho hum every little helps).
