I have been a bit quiet lately as making sample cards for a shop so that's been taking up all of my spare time but I am pleased to say I have completed now my 2nd stash busting challenge so that's 100 completed since I started :-) I am due to go to the Make It show at Farnborough on the 28th February so feel I have earned my treat now. I will only spend what money I have saved from sales and Christmas as I still have sooooo much still to use!! I think if I make 20 cards a day until I'm 90 I still won't run out of card and paper!!! LOL

Hello everyone. I have been watching this thread for months, but never got round to posting myself. I can identify myself with most of you:) and having boxes, cupboards and shelves filled with craft stuff is overwhelming. I have moved a house last month, and still try to unpack my goodies.
I probably had a go at every single craft there is at some point of my life, so I have made a few decisions.:
1. If the items have not been used in last couple of years and I am not good at it- it gets flogged on ebay-i.e. this needle felting kit bought 2 years ago that ended as massive craft fail that cost me over £30.
2. I will use up my goodies to make items for sale on folksy/craft fairs, and I have prebooked some craft fairs too.
3. I will not visit hobbycraft in 2014 (tough).
4. I will make 500 items before I buy. It seems an awful lot, but it must be done.
I set up a craft diary, with daily targets, aiming to finish at least 30 items by end of February.0 -

We'd like to move, probably next year now, but I can't even think about it yet with the amount of craft stuff I'd have to pack up!! Which is why I need to be on here....
I have a sort of craft diary too, but I find if I write lists I tend to go the other way, and don't achieve anything!
Haven't done much since last weekend except make some morsbags and go through some doll house magazines taking out projects I want to keep. Have destashed by about 25 magazines though and all those torn out fit in a box file.

I don't feel like I'm making much progress as I can't see a visible decline in my stash, but I think I'll concentrate on one project at a time and get the whole thing done rather than do a bit of one and a bit of another..... Need to concentrate on the wedding stuff first, then the doll house swaps: but being me, I'll probably start on something else completely different!

Just thought i'd drop in and say although i haven't made a new target i am still crafting. I'm working on a cross stitch kit, made a sympathy card this morning (my great uncle died), and have been coming up with designs for my configuration box.
Hope everyone else is crafting well0 -

I knackered just reading your list never mind having to do it. I started a sock monkey for my oh for valentines day but I never got round to finishing it, I'll get it done in the next day or so, oh will probably give it to one of our many grandbrats. I fancy trying bunting as my daughter who lives in America hopes to be moving back here soon with her oh and their son, her oh applied for a visa two weeks ago, they've been informed that a decision has been made but immigration haven't told him what the decision is, anyway is bunting easy to make.

I've been asked to make a draught excluder for someone. What's the best fabric to use please? Would it be better to make one and then a case for it so it's easier to clean?

I think I'm a bit knackered after reading it too, but it won't all happen this year, that's just what I'd like to achieve before we move. I might delete some of them and just dispose of them, e.g. started quilts and picture frames. Haven't decided yet. Bunting is quite easy to make: I made a triangle template and cut out 2 triangles from each piece of fabric. Sew up the long sides into the point, then turn inside out and press. When you have enough, cut the binding. I have been cutting it on the straight grain of the fabric but found when I sewed it to the flags it bunched up a bit. Best to cut the strips on the bias (diagonal) of the fabric.I've been asked to make a draught excluder for someone. What's the best fabric to use please? TIA
I made a draught excluder for mum and dad: I used an old curtain and stuffed it with bits of fabric too small to use in anything else. You could also use an old pillow/cushion, old tights etc. cut up small. I didn't make a separate cover for it but you could, you'd have to make some sort of closure for the case though. I think any fabric would do, I used cotton curtaining as I don't like sewing anything else. You could also use fleece. Hope that helps.Keep Calm and Carry On Kondoing
