Hi all, me again - I just can't stay away :)

I've just updated the participants / targets list on the first page. Could I possibly ask you all to check that your makes / targets are correct. If not could you PM me with your new totals so that I can update and show off our success stories :)

If you haven't already could you also put the challenge in your signatures if possible as it makes it so much easier for me.

    Thanks xxx

I've decided not to finish the pom pom bath mat at the moment, it's easier to store unmade and as it's just for show for when this place goes on the market it can wait, I have however laid it out on top of a bath mat just so I have a guide as to what I want it it look like. It will I hope look a bit tidier than that when it's finished, I just did it quickly before I put it away.

I've just about finished oh's sock monkey that he was to get for valentines day :rotfl:, it's now going to be a retirement Pressie for him :D.
  • oooh I like that Kinski..... I used to love making pom poms the 'old fashioned' way with 2 bits of cardboard... I don't have any wool so if I was to try this idea to use up my stash I'd have to buy some wool first!!! That's a no-goer then...

Haven't made anything today yet, but it is early. Too much choice, that's my problem!!! What to make first: hubby isn't any help, he says just pick something and concentrate on it!!

Thank you, I loved making them, one of my other shower rooms is green and cream so I think I'll make one for in there, I've got a load of cream wool so I'll use that. At least you oh says something to you, my one just groans when he sees the sewing machine the knitting needles or now the pom pom maker come out :rotfl:, if he's going to be hanging about they just might be coming out a lot more :T

Kinski - love the pom pom mat, looks classy

crafting mad - you make me giggle, you not suppose to stay away lol , its your thread.

Tattycathy = cant wait to see your makes

I went shopping today and forgot the vanish for the coffee table. I could kick myself that was the point of going

On a positive note I sold 30 items on ebay so used 30 envelopes to post them.

I used 27 A4 sheets of paper cutting out some flouishes, corners and layers to make some cards....On the downside I need a new cutting mat..It can wait though , theres no hurry

And OH has bought me a kindle fire so being a technology person thats me amused for a couple of days. Im not sure why he got it I have a ipad4. I think he got it because I was advising some friends on a tablet and said the kindle has better graphics than the ipad. He`s not into computers as I am so he probably thought I was critising my own tablet :-0

Forgive me crafters for I have sinned :( I went to The Range today to get a packet of cello bags and some more double sided tape ready for the cards I am about to make for my stall stock and then two big packs of buttons, some wooden shapes and 4 sets of stamps (they are beautiful santoro ones and were £4.99 each or 4 for £10 so too big a bargain to resist) fell into my basket and went through the checkout :(

But it gets worse we then went to see the Lego Movie but the showing we wanted was sold out so we had time to kill and there was a big Hobbycraft nearby and as the kids wanted the toilet we popped in to use it and I bought more cello bags (different size), 3 felt rosettes with customisable badges (but reduced to only £1 each so just as cheap to buy as make) and 3 journaling style type pockets for a scrapbook page type project went through the checkout with me:( All in all I spent nearly £50 :(

I was doing so well but I am now determined that that is that - no more craft items will be bought (apart from essentials and only essentials) until I have finished this challenge - I have TOOOO MUCH stash. Am I forgiven if I work really hard now to make lots of lovely things :(

SO sorry - I haven't even started yet and you are all working away. On the bright side DS1 (temporarily home due to crisis) finally moved into the new rented house with his girlfriend at the weekend, so I have cleared 2 bedrooms worth of stuff (1 van load, 1 car load, 2 trips by bus - not much left to go). I have put all his remaining things as near to the front door as possible - if it's still here next weekend I might try to get it in the vestibule.

Have had health problems (just felt slow and sluggish - even going for a daily walk was a chore and came back limping a couple of times) so have put myself on a regime of early nights, simple stews/soups/curries from the freezer and trying to walk every day even if for less than usual. Seems to be working but not left with a lot of spare time.

We have also been threatened by evil bailiffs (nothing to do with us, someone with the same first and last names and d.o.b as DS1) but it cost him his day off and an 80 mile round trip to get it sorted out.

The cat got sick (she is eighteen and has had spells for the past 3 years). I thought I had got her stable but then she slipped away in her sleep and the last week has been taken up with preparing for the move (2 full sets of bedding + clothes as they haven't got a washing machine yet but plan to in the next couple of weeks).

Done a little de-cluttering since weekend but am trying to gear myself up to painting 3 bedrooms and the bathroom now that they are accessible. I want the house on the market as soon as possible as there is only me and DS3 left at home and his University course ends this year - and if I down-size there won't be room for anyone else to move back in.

Can I cheat and list ceilings and walls (and floors to sand) as craft projects. I know I need to spend some time on my crafts but most of it was packed away neatly and I am not sure I want to let it all start escaping - I have already gone through the sorting through all my old mags and only keeping patterns/ideas I will use.

I have finished a sampler I did for DS2 when he was at university (a sort of house motto - they just had it nailed on the wall). Finally found a frame for it before Christmas and he saw it (I was intending to put another band of tape between material and the frame) and took it with him (much longer arms than me).

I also threw away an old tapestry that I bought for a good cause intending to undo and re-use the materials. I started doing this at a very bad time in my life and it helped a lot - I wasn't well enough to make something but the 'un-making' didn't need any concentration. So it has paid for itself a s a therapeutic tool and I have enough materials for my current and future needs, so I decided to let it go.

Any way, best of luck with all your crafting, I am with you in spirit and hopefully in body as well, shortly.

  • Haven't done anything today to cross off my list, but I have been sitting making tiny little cards of buttons for dolls house swaps. I've made 27 of them so far: haven't made much of a dent in the stash - 1 sheet of A4 card, and around 100 mini buttons plus some glue. So it's some more towards the swaps I have to do this year - I will put half a dozen of them in a little basket with some bits of fabric and a miniature needle case, etc.

Well... it kept me quiet for a couple of hours!

Hello all. This thread is really inspiring - I've just spent all night reading it - right after reading the 14 in 2014 thread, which I've joined.

I'd like to join in here too - it's not surprising that so many of you are in that other thread too!

I have taken over a room in our house for a craft room, in the hope (vain at the moment) of containing all my stuff there. I had a big think about what I wanted v what I need the room to do, so I have a sofa bed in there. I got a lovely drop leaf table and then added a gent's wardrobe (it has shelves and drawers) and some cupboards (all pre - loved). And then I started to move my stuff in - and then I had to give up 'cos it won't fit - yet! My OH put up some shelves and he has promised to put more shelves in the wardrobe for me, but that still won't take everything. I have crates of stuff in boxes.
I knit/crochet, sew (all the fabric is in huge underbed storage boxes) and make cards. But I dabble in painting too - that stuff is in the loft, so doesn't count at the moment. And I have wadding in the loft too! My stamps, ribbons, punches and whatnot else are stored in a wardrobe and drawers in the other spare bedroom. So I have a lot of destashing to do to make an impression and get it all where it belongs. Help!

I'll go for 50 items for my target and when that's done (note how positive I'm being here) I'll start again with another 50. I wish I had your courage to go for 2014, crafting mad, but I'm a coward! Now to find out how to add a signature so I can't change my mind.
