stash busting - I will use my mountains b4 buying more!

Oooh thanks craftyc - I will have to try that
I can't say anything as I have a cricut and a craft robo plus a grand calibur and a sizzix big shot
I may be a bit quiet for several days as my hubby has got 6 days off work and I now have a skip sitting on my drive. Apparently his plan is to throw away EVERYTHING in our two sheds and conservatory. However both of these sheds contain not only lots of personal things which I would like to keep (such as old photographs of family members, children's toys which have real sentiment etc) but are also stuffed full of my excess crafting stash which I can't fit in the house. He will show no mercy so I will have to keep a very, very close eye on him
I'm hoping that he may get called into work so I can go through all of the boxes by myself and smuggle lots of things back into the sheds without him knowingMortgage - £2338.07 paid off Feb 2023 BTL 1 £51,089.10 £35789.36 paid off July 2025 BTL 2 £81,504.52 BTL 3 £77,497.020 -
oooh craftingmad, good luck with that. I'd hate for my hubby to do that.... he knows he's not allowed to touch my stuff (not that he'd want to), but I do worry at times that it takes up too much available storage space. It would be very hard for me to choose what to save and what to let go if I was in your position... makes me even more determined to get it all whittled down and used up so I've got a manageable amount. Maybe by the end of this year.....
Well, nothing to report: not done any crafting today, except a few stitches of cross stitches while waiting for my hair to be cut today. Have been stripping woodchip wallpaper off the stairs, a long drawn out job but so satisfying when it's off!Keep Calm and Carry On Kondoing

I have a confession to make.
I have bought something.
In my defence I didn't have the colour I needed.
Promise I'll make something and try and post pics- within the next month.
I suppose it's a bit different than buying something cos it looks nice ~(which we are all guilty of).
Now within the next month? Is that in 30 days or by the end of Jan?0 -

It's within 30 days. I'd never get it done before End of January-really busy month for us, the SA is due in on 31st and we've just discovered we have to go through all our figures again! :mad:GE 36 *MFD may 2043

Quick check in from me as his lordship is fast asleep on the sofa and both kids are at youth club
So far the decluttering is going well and none of my craft items that I want to keep have gone in the skip. We started on the conservatory today and I have already found lots of lovely bits and pieces of stash which I had forgotton about including ribbon and buttons (two of my favourite things in the world) so I currently have 3 large plastic boxes filled with things for me to go through. It will be like Christmas all over again.
I was good and threw out a few bits though like papers which had got damp, sticky tape which I knew would not stick anymore and have used notebooks which I started years ago.
Not looking forward to tomorrow though - it's the turn of one of the sheds and I know hubby wants to just skip it all but I know that I've got loads of craft stash lurking in there that I desperately want to keepMortgage - £2338.07 paid off Feb 2023 BTL 1 £51,089.10 £35789.36 paid off July 2025 BTL 2 £81,504.52 BTL 3 £77,497.020 -
Craftingmad.... you'll have to set your alarm and get up extra early before OH so you can get out to the shed and rescue your best bits!

Hi everyone,
Just loving all the photos and inspiration.
Sorry can't post photos but will try to learn how.
Finished bunting for dd with help from a friend..... One pennant of slippery fabric sewn in 4 times and kept falling out. My hands are terrible with arthritis and it took me 2 hours in class to pick out about 6 inches of sewing. So a kind lady beside me who couldn't bear to watch me doing it yet again next week kindly took it home to sew....and same happened to her, so she resorted to hand sewing that bit for me.
Hooray been in bag since before Christmas and can now be ticked off.0 -
Had a productive day so far: I wrote a list of what I wanted to achieve today and ticked off 9 out of 14 items (not all craft based though). I have also worked on the bunting, and hemmed some muslin squares that I cut up into 12 for my grandson's 'love' (like a mini security blanket). I haven't listed those as they weren't part of my stash. I have made 2 thank you cards for my daughter's wedding, and 12 Christmas gift tags.
Not sure if I'll get any more finished today as I'm out tonight, but will post progress later if I do.
Feel like I have actually got somewhere today... another couple of years like this and I will be stash free!!!
