I'm so glad I found this forum. I'd really like to join as my stash is getting so big it is spilling out of my craft room and taking over the landing! I have lots of half-finished projects as well as lots of new fabric/paper/beads etc etc. I will aim to complete 50 things as the first step.

Hello and welcome. Again sorry for the delay - been a busy bee (not crafting unfortunately :(

You sound just like me - I love trying all sorts of different crafts - sadly I am a master of none but I have fun and it keeps me out of mischief (unless I'm buying more stash of course :)

50 projects sounds like a good starting point - please post pics of your lovely creations so that we can all be inspired - I've already gained so much inspiration from this thread - I'm loving it :)

I tried to place the picture here but only got the link.

This is my quilt called Heart of a Nation. It looks finished but it's not. It's got lots of loose threads.

    Hello and welcome.

Absolutely love the quilt - its amazing :)

Feeling a little silly with my craft now but please keep posting pics and I love looking at amazing works like your own :)

OK sorry for the post assault - I really should try and catch up every day but I've been sooo busy and lacking enthusiasm lately :( Its also lovely to see more people joining :)

    Anyway update time from me:-

I have been very good and not bought anything else since my coaster confession :)

I have also made 15 peppermint patties which I have packaged up in sets of 3 and hope to sell them at my upcoming craft fair. I bought the peppermint chocolates hoping to "papercraft them up" for Christmas fairs but just did not get the time so I'm trying to stash bust them now (luckily the BB date is Jan 15 so they should last me for the year) :0

I have also started work on a felt teddy bear shaped warmer (inspired by the scented rice idea on here) and just need to fill with said rice and sew up to be completed. It's no masterpiece but it's the first thing I have hand sewed for a while so am glad I am getting back into it. :) I won't count him until he's finished though.

I have also just come across some felt bookmarks I bought for a ridiculous price whilst I was in Florida last year so I have decorated two up using die cut felt flowers, buttons and stitching so now have two ready to sell at my upcoming craft fair. I have also prepped four more so hopefully will get those sewn and finished tonight whilst waiting for the kiddos to go to sleep :)

So I can declare 17 more items taking my total to

94 / 2014 (so close to 100 I will hopefully get there by Sunday)

    Keep stash busting everyone :)

  • Well done Craftingmad you are like a crafting machine!:D

When you say the bookmarks were a 'ridiculous price' do you mean ridiculously cheap or ridiculously expensive?

I have just used some of my Hobbycraft vouchers on a pom pom maker and have already made a pompom. I bought the set that makes larger pompoms but am already thinking that I would also like the set that makes small pompoms.

Now strictly speaking I know that buying a pompom maker isn't clearing my stash but I intend to use up some of my wool mountain making pompoms!

My sister and friend also wanted pompom makers so I used my voucher to buy some for them so when they pay me for their item I will get some cash and that can go into my purse for bills and I won't need to but any more crafting stuff!

    Thank you :)

I mean they were cheap cheap - they cost $2.49 for 12 so that's something like £1.70 for 12 (or 14p each) and they are really thick felt in lovely bright colours :) Feeling glad I have now started using them and it's bringing back lovely memories of our fab trip :)

I Soooooooooooooooo want a pom pom maker :(

OMG DH has just been up in the loft sorting out and has found a plastic crate full of X-stitch kits, patterns, thread and material. Also loads more blank cards. Looks like I have even more to use up than I first thought:o
  • Still continuing on my stitching, and planning some things to do for my birthday, but i have made progress. Also i have cancelled my monthly craft box (disappointed with the new format), so all i have now is two mag subscriptions, and i looked through my cross stitch kits. I have nine to do after this one, so won't need to buy any for a while.

On a side note i saw a lovely idea in the latest Cardmaking and Papercraft mag - cards with a topper that you can take off and use as a magnet. I have some leftover magnet tape from christmas so i will be doing this when i make birthday cards this year

Well I have managed three pockets for the advent calender, and have come to the realization I don't need to make 24 - which is good, as I don't think we have the space I would need to display it... I'll do something like this for the rest to save space:

and of the two pincushions I managed one...

I still haven't mended the cardi, but as far as stash busting goes I have managed to get through some if it at least..

I plan to do a yellow star on the same principle as the Christmas tree, and will embroider a bauble when I get the chance... which will take me up to 7, and I think I may only do eight, so that there are two dangled prezzies between each pocket, as I don't have the wall space to place 24 pockets... I'm actually more please with this idea as my partner has commented that he doesn't think that black leather is very christmassy - this will be solved by the garish christmas wrap I will use between the pockets...

I am enjoying actually getting things done, and am finding the thread is keeping me focused.

So tomorrow I plan to get the two pockets sorted for the calender (three if I can think of a third), and the bird pincushion cut out. Oh as well as finding plates for my mum's vintage plate stands...
