Hi to all the newbies
Crafting mad - I too love York and tend to go for a few days in the summer. Glad you had a fab quality time with family
Crea8tor - nice to see you join in , with a sensible target too
Maisie - I took have lots of unfinished kits, but my sewing is not the best. Good idea starting Xmas kits early.
Toonie - I would have chosen the smaller bedroom too , for a craft room :-) well done you
Well I'm pleased to say I have made 200 Xmas cards in total. So they are all posted and gone, I also made some more gift tags ( I won't count those) I also been making night in at the movie hampers for the kids. I say kids they all over 21 and love them. Requested every year . Also made 10 snowman soups and 3 sweet trees. Need to make some American candy bouquets now , so I am busy crafting which is good because it keeps my mind from buying .
I did get my friend the craft items , katiehound pointed them out at £1 (tonic staplers) each and with some other 'bits 'they make a fab present
I will just add the cards to my total. Not sure how I would count the other things :-) all made from my stash though :-)Challenge 2018 - Learn by heart the Book by Wayne Morgan on Amazon - Betfair Football Trading as it helps to supplement my small income :beer:0 -
Wow 17 cards in one night Lequirk - I am very impressed.
Susan42 - 200 Christmas cards - amazing. I don't think I know that many people - yet alone send Christmas cards too that many!!
pigpen - you are forgiven
Well I have just finished making 11 teacher's gifts for Christmas. They have each got a post it holder frame pad. I'll take pictures when I can and upload them to my blog. They are nothing special but they have managed to clear lots of my stash as I used a clear acrylic frame for each along with some stickers, papers, paper flowers (or stars for the men), ribbon, post it pads and pencils - all of which were already in my stash. Well I've been a little bit good - I've made three cards out of the 25 (for charity) I want to achieve before Christmas .... BUT also attacked my fabric stash this afternoon ... and made a long door curtain from a pair of curtains which I'm chuffed to bits with because it looks so lovely. (keeping out the drafts too!). I've also made some little cafe type curtains for my square (ugly) kitchen window from a thick cotton, red & white gingham tablecloth I bought for £4.49 in a sale about 12 months ago. (I couldn't have bought the fabric for that amount, - the tablecloth was huge!).
I'm so glad that I joined in with this challenge, it's really making me look at all this 'stuff' that I'm hoarding and forcing me to think about how I could use it instead of it (and me) just sitting there.

.
Well done Cre8tor
I know exactly what you mean about the challenge - I am looking at all my stash and thinking how much nicer it will look made into something rather than just sitting on the shelf (or in most cases - the floor) and gathering dust. Its made me take a fresh look at my existing stash and breathe new life into older items xx
Its also lovely to have so many other people join me in my quest xxxMortgage - £2338.07 paid off Feb 2023 BTL 1 £51,089.10 £35789.36 paid off July 2025 BTL 2 £81,504.52 BTL 3 £77,497.020 -
Well over the weekend I made up two canvases, and a set of wooden hearts which I am using as Christmas decorations. Plus I made a bracelet to wear when I went out on Saturday so that's four items made. I won't get much done over the week as it's massively busy but hoping to squeeze something in on Friday.Grocery budget in 2023 £2279.18/£2700Grocery budget in 2022 £2304.76/£2400Grocery budget in 2021 £2107.86/£2200Grocery budget in 2020 £2193.02/£2160Saving for Christmas 2023 #15 £ 90/ £3650

Well I have completed six journal/scrapbook pages and used up lots of old letter stickers and random embellishments.
I wanted to make these photo cubes as gifts but I don't have styrofoam cubes. Trying to figure out what else I could use. I think they would make a nice present and use up lots of my scrapbooking supplies.

How about using an empty square tissue box? You could adhere [cereal box] card to the six sides to strengthen it (and cover over the hole where you've pulled all the tissues from), and then once all the glue's dried you'll be able to decorate it anyway you wish.Remember: however thin you slice something, there are always two sides to everything.0

Wow you lot are amazing, I've loads of material and wool but I'm a lazy crafter, I go daft and will knit like mad for a few months, go of the knitting and then sew for a couple of months, at the moment I'm of the lot 😢. I'd love to join the challenge and get rid of the material and wool I've collected over the years but until I get the mood back I can't. The only thing I have done in the past year is to knit and sew dog coats for Ellie my Bichon who doesn't have a thick coat (14 at the last count) I've also made sock monkeys for some of my family and I now have loads of fancy socks but I'm of making them as well 😭. I'd post a picture of the coats I've made Ellie but don't know how to do it from the iPad.0

Sounds a lot like me. I have phases of papaercrafting, then go off it for a bit and get into my crochet again, then after a few months of that i get back into my sewing again etc...i am fortunate in having so many supplies, but i also know how tempting new crafty purchases are and therefore need to make use of what i have already, so i can justify the odd little crafty prezzie to myself LOL!
I made my mums small yorkie dog a coat a couple of weeks ago. Am really pleased with how it turned out. All pretty patchwork and i only bought the sewing machine a few months ago.
I am looking forward to making lots more things and this challenge thread will help to keep me focussed, hopefully.
Having said that, i am going to hobbycraft this week....:rotfl:0 -
Well, finally got around to making some more Christmas cards - a case of having to as I still have people to give them to and ran out of the shop-bought ones. Didn't really want to go to town just for Christmas cards so I'm making the rest. Made another 14 today so far. I'm also half way through a table runner, and if that comes out OK will try and make another one for my friend who is coming to dinner tonight.
So total at the moment = 22 out of 500Keep Calm and Carry On Kondoing
