What would you consider to be a good back up credit card to the Amex?
Egg money - 1% on everything.0 -
i want a visa or mastercard only and want to be able to get cashback on all purchases.
any ideas ??
Why only those two?
Amex is 5% for 3 months and £33.75 via quido.
Egg money is a mastercard and pays 1%.
Amex is not accepted everywhere but you can't beat the cashback especially if you have any big bills (like holidays) coming up.0 -
is there anything else that offers the same as egg
% on everything but can offer a higher percentage ?0 -
Other than AMEX I don't know of any others.
Capital one was offering 1% but I think that's been withdrawn.
At the moment offers are being withdrawn which may be something to do with the massive global credit crunch that's underway.0 -
what is the max limit on that egg card
its not like £500 is it ?
i signed up to a barclay card a year ago and the limit was £250 !! was my 1st ever credit card though.. maybe that had something to do with it.
any ideas ?0 -
Even if they do withdraw the cashback for existing cardholders I'll probably hang on to it for the free credit checks.IvanOpinion wrote: »Probably until the card expires or they change their mind

I have £3500.
They are not usually huge because it's meant to be pre-loaded.
So I initially had £3K on Egg Money and £15K on Egg Visa (no cashback).
Of course it's also down to personal cirucmstances, but I get the impression that we are not awash with cashback deals at the moment.
What's your objection to Amex?
I am well aware there are some restrictions to using it (not that many these days) but 5% is well in excess of anything else on offer at the moment.
Not trying to push it but you haven't said what your objection is.0 -
i want to use a cashback card to order my ebay stock.
and get cashback..
The suppliers i use do not accept cashback.. i have about 4 suppliers i get my stuff from and none of them accept it
so really im looking for a visa / mastercard 1
but seems i may have left it too late if there are hardly none about0 -

I think he meant they won't accept Amex.
That's why he wants a visa/mastercard to get cashback with.
Amex is not accpeted everywhere and clearly in this case it's a big problem.0
