I anticipate a £30 Aldi gift voucher any day now as recompence for their poor customer service to me.
Will they accept that in England?

You don't need recompense (with an s) - you need to get out more.

Aldi's can accept or refuse who they wish to they are a business and don't have to do what anyone wants to if they don't want to.If by only using debit cards or cash it means their goods are cheaper I can't see a problem If you want to use a credit card then go draw some cash and buy your stuff in their shops if when you do you find it costs YOU money then you will see why they don't want to go down that road.I don't blame them If they started accepting them then prices would rise to cover their costs They are a business not a charity so why on earth should they lose money to the detriment of cash or debit card customers.Simples reallyI use Aldi at times for different bits and know I use cash there Its not a problem for me

You make an excellent point and thank you for pointing this out to us.

I agree but do you think this is a good business plan by Aldi ?
Would you have the Aldi way of doing things in your supermarket business ?
Especially if you want to increase your profits and market share ?

A good point but but you forget to mention or you do not realise that Aldi do not accept all Debit cards they have an ONLY LIST of acceptable Debit cards in their shops and on their website.

That is an incorrect assumption. Aldi are only just getting to grips with realising they should have a customer service response team in the UK. Sadly they are not up to speed at all on this implementation.

The customer Service Manager had to admit yesterday that his First Direct Debit card is NOT on the Aldi accept list.

If profit margin decreases but turnover increases then Aldi and their customers will benefit.

Thank your for this point its is excellent. …...Thank you for pointing out to us that Aldi are a business would you please remind Aldi they are a business and ask then to start behaving like one. Ask them to adopt the belief that the customer is always right.

Many charities operate in a far more business like manner than Aldi and most charity chops have a card machine and will accept Credit Cards for payment.

Would you tell us what different bits you buy from Aldi that you cannot buy cheaper in other supermarkets please. I'm sure if Aldi were to operate as a business they would want you to buy far more from them than different bits.

Unless the customer is clearly a couple of sandwiches short of a picnic.

Are you retired by any chance?

I have just telephoned Aldi to inform the Customer Services Manager that he has been mentioned on this Forum again in posting 325. In our telephone chat yesterday I said I would keep him aware if his name is mentioned in postings .

However he was unavailable when asked to be put through to Customer services I was connected to a lady in Corporate Logistics.

I asked the lady to pass on my message to Customer Services Manager

In the process of passing on the message we briefly chatted about the problems at Aldi. I got the impression that the lady is unfamiliar of how Aldi operate at the customer level and the current predicament of the Aldi customer service team.

She agreed to pass on my message to Customer Services Manager

If I was retired I would be unable to shop at Aldi

I do not think Aldi sell sandwiches and if the did I would be uinable to buy them with a Credit card In England except in Berwick Upon Tweed

You would be better off not breaking the forum rules by posting people's names and perhaps edit the posts where you have already done so to remove them.

Perhaps the T&Cs that you agreed to when you signed up didn't make it clear enough what you were and weren't allowed to post - perhaps a complaint to MSE towers would be in order.
