Rumour has it that some Scottish branches will only be accepting payment in Vietnamese Dong from next month (but only on Wednesdays and Fridays during Haggis hunting season) - they should have fun adding that to the signs showing allowable payment methods.0 -

We had a credit card refused at an Aldi store in Nottingham. Aldi's answer was they do not accept credit cards in stores in England. They will accept credit cards in their Scotland stores and in some stores in Wales but none in England. I discovered this is not the case the ALDI Berwick upon Tweed (England) does accept credit card payments. The Aldi website states no stores in England accept Credit cards . I have complained to Aldi today requesting from Aldi that they allow credit cards in all Aldi stores in England or remove credit card use in ALDI Berwick upon Tweed to be in line with the other Aldi stores in England. Why are the users of Aldi stores in England being discriminated against by Aldi ? The signs at two Nottingham stores do not include every debit card card they accept and I did not see a sign saying they do not accept credit cards in either store. It is extremely embarrassing to have a card refused at a till in an Aldi store.
Aldi's can accept or refuse who they wish to they are a business and don't have to do what anyone wants to if they don't want to.If by only using debit cards or cash it means their goods are cheaper I can't see a problem If you want to use a credit card then go draw some cash and buy your stuff in their shops if when you do you find it costs YOU money then you will see why they don't want to go down that road.I don't blame them If they started accepting them then prices would rise to cover their costs They are a business not a charity so why on earth should they lose money to the detriment of cash or debit card customers.Simples reallyI use Aldi at times for different bits and know I use cash there Its not a problem for me0 -

A woman was in front of me in the queue and the total bill was £19.42. So this woman hauls her bag onto the conveyor, unzips it and starts rummaging inside for her purse, then finds it and opens it, then asks how much it was again, then says "I think I have that... There's £10, and £5, and £1 and £2 and £3 (counting out the change)" and then eventually says "I thought I had a 2p in here somewhere", followed by "I'll have to have that 40p back and change it for a 50p". Then the cashier then has to re-check it before finally giving the woman her 8p change, yet she still manages to hold up the queue whilst she puts the change in her purse, zips that, and then has to put the purse in the back and zip that, ...

I anticipate a £30 Aldi gift voucher any day now as recompence for their poor customer service to me.0
