    Error in the letter 2
“The majority of UK based Aldi stores accept cash , Maestro, Delta Solo and Electron card only,”
“This information is provided at all of our till Points and on the back of our weekly SpecialBuy leaflets , however we appreciate that you were not aware of this at the time.”

You seem to have ignored a keyword in his answer (which I have helpfully highlighted in red for you). He is correct - the majority of stores do only accept the cards stated, but some (such as #Berwick-Upon-Tweed) accept other methods of payment.

If you happen to speak to him again, can you ask him when ALDI plans to introduce payment by BitCoins and when they do, will it be across the whole country or just; as rumours suggest; in their Slough branch.

Thank you for pointing this out to me and you are correct about his letter but the Aldi website says the following....
"Aldi stores accept cash, Maestro, Delta, Solo and Electron card only. Visa and Master Card credit cards are accepted in Scottish and selected Welsh stores only. In line with many other retailers we no longer accept cheques in store."

I will ask about BitCoin what a great idea

well as Aldi stores are PHYSICAL premises and Bitcoin is a VIRTUAL currency so how can you spend a currency that is not PHYSICAL in a PHYSICAL store.

Delta is Visa Debit by the way, Delta is just the outdated name. Aldi do accept Debit MasterCard as well but admittedly they don't advertise that.
  • The Germans are still on the pretense that cash is quicker to process (going back to the old zip zap machines). The cashier usually asks if you are paying by cash or card even before they finish scanning. They usually have the till open if you say cash even before you have handed it over to them.

    from wiki
The Visa Debit card was previously known as "Visa Delta" solely in the UK.[2] The Delta name began to be phased out in favour of the Visa Debit branding from September 1998

    Could Aldi's signs be from 1998 ?

    Error in the letter 3
“your comments have been forwarded to the appropriate office for action” ???

During my chat with Aldi Customer Service Manager he said that other than chat with a colleague and sending this letter to me he was not taking any further action

Would you consider his error number 3 was disingenuous saying one thing in a letter representing his employer and another on the telephone.

I think Aldi are "wringing their hands" when it comes to customer service LOL.

Today the telephone answering system changed again the none geographic line has disappeared and an number new to me 0845 3450015
