Ooh ... oatcakes are lovely. And even more portable than bannocks (my bannocks, anyway!)

    *whispers* what's a bannock??

Well done for making them anyway!

KC well done on the pension front. I do think its important to have measures in place as who knows what state the country and state pension will be in in about 35years time when I get to retire
    Goals for February
    Declutter 2/50
    Money Made £0/£200
    Overpayments £0/£200

Hey there Starnac - a bannock it a type of unsweet, savoury welsh cake that's a bread :D

Well its more like a 'griddle scone' or stovetop bread - linky here

And I learnt to make flour and bere bannocks last night and that you can also make them in the microwave in 2 mins.........:D

On the pension front - I've nowt sorted. I really must make a cunning plan.

RG is well sorted on his, he's a stickler for things like that.

Thank you for the rustic oatcake appreciation - I looked at them this morning and do confess that they are still very beautiful :T

And I'm also glad you're marching on with the pension stuff. Hangs my own head in shame.

Morning world - slept a bit later than expected but happy to be about to charge on with the day.

    Hopes you're all good

Would you be likely to eat a bannock with breakfast?

If so I may have had one. We were in Scotland towards the end of last year ;) and where we stayed there was a garden centre next door. We went there for breakfast and DH and I had a Scottish breakfast. There was something very similar to your description on that!

  • :D sounds like it Starnac :)

    Bannocks are most excellent fodder.

Hope you're well - I really must shake myself and open that reviewed statement. Tomorrow's closing date.

    Inserts scary face here.

  • Mmmmm....oatcakes. I'm expecting an oatcake making lesson at easter now please Mrs....put it in your diary! :D I've tried making them before, but never quite manage to get them to dry out before the edges start burning. :o

Pensions...well, nothing "official" in place but paying off the mortgage is the first step, and not taking on any new debt that's not to our advantage of course. So a semi-cunning sort-of plan. Maybe. ;)

How's the personal statement coming along?

    Both are in.

My bottom is now numb from concentrating so hard. Which I know you know what that means, too much sitting at the screen and concentrating.

Off to find suitable fodder for a nervous person.

Both closing dates are tomorrow and interviews first week feb.

I will of course pencil in oatcake workshops to your time frame. Drying out - cook 10 mins, poke with finger if only slightly soft turn for another 5-10 mins.

They HAVE to be turned I have on guru authority.

    And thank you Starnac. :D

  • Having reviewed stuff and DS's report (I'm a good mum)

I'm off to start a list, tackle banks and tidy up a bit for my incoming visitor :)
