Rent money moved into online saver - banks are OK but not paid any extra off cards for a while.

    Will do that once paid

    :)

Must write a list but I'm just exhausted - not that I've done anything much today!
Total debt 26/4/18 <£1925 we were getting there.
Total debt as of 28/4/19 £7867.38:eek:

  • OK - quick question
anyone any great plans regarding storage.

Looking at a 75m2 space - for my things post move - its nearly £25/week.

    Booooooo.

There has to be a better solution. Ponders, we have both 'indoor' and outdoor stuff.

Morning! (coughs ... it is, it is, honest) ...

Hmm, storage ... thats really expensive! 75 square metres is ... um, in old money ... um ... ten yards by 7.5 yards? Something like that? Thats a lot of space, Pippi. I put the contents of my one bedroom flat into storage when I moved out of London - yes, only one bedroom, but I had professional help in choosing what size unit, and then in stacking it in, and they really do get stacked, very high - you've got to think in terms of cubic area, I think, not squareage :) So, chairs on top of tables, boxes of books underneath the tables, stuff on the chairs that are on the tables, that sort of thing.

Am I on the wrong track there?

  • You're right of course it's cubed.

    :-)

I have an epiphany I think having read most of greyings thoughts earlier around life sort/enjoy/too much stuff.

Wiks suggested I make a list and decide what's important, what's replacale and what's just stuff and I really rationalise.

Most of our bits are freecycled treasures and with the exception of a few things I think, we can pass them on in a loving fashion.

Aside my books, a sofa or two and some wee bits of stuff we don't need anything that can't be replaced.

Does a big deep sigh and looks forward to a proper declutter.

    Scary biscuits.

    Wik's on track there ...

Twasn't pickiness with the squareage/cubage, you know - I didn't want to think of you renting too much space! But yes, if you're freecycling/ freegling it, you don't need to take it with you anyway ... Stuff that you got from freecycle etc, that you really love, you can still take it with you, you know :)

  • Evening!

I am going to try to pop in here more often, I do miss the cheery banter (and bannocks!) otherwise. Having said that, not a lot to report today, had a dentists' check-up this morning in town where we used to live, so getting there, waiting about etc and getting back took practically the whole morning. I did think of you and your walking target though. I never do enough so today I parked the car away from town centre and walked in, 10 mins or so each way (also saved £1.20 in parking costs). Every little helps eh? On both fronts.

We put the contents of a three bedroomed house in storage when we moved southwards and we had professional help to size it too. Like KC said its like a giant 3D puzzle and it's very difficult to gauge unless you really know.

Wik's already said what I was going to - likewise, at MrRG's pad, think about where the things you do want to keep might fit in with other stuff Also look at storage in various locations - might be cheaper a little bit north of where you're looking to end up, and the van will have to come past there to get to the RG Pad to start with, so can easily drop stored stuff off on the way?

Thank you for oatcakey advice too...I may be brave and try again, after all I can always get more oatmeal (tricky to get down here) in either April, or May, when various parts of Scotland beckon! :D

    :) ey up chucks.

Got a HUGE event tomorrow so Wik's been cooking up a storm and I've done a few wee bits.

Thanks guys - all grand advice there - thank you

    (KC never get offended lovely!)

So tired but after around 2.30 tomorrow we'll hopefully be winding down.

Weather is insane (free sand blasted facial) I'm afraid even I turned round after not much walking and said 'nope - home'!

Hugs all round I hope your weekend's are going to be splendid!

I'll not be around early but slumped later I hope :)

    Have a good un.

Still probably 2 weeks until pay day *weeps silently* and presses nose up to cupboard doors.
