A quick update....needed tatties for tea last night as I had none left so fished a few out of my Rocket bag. I gave them a good wash and I'm still here to tell the tale this morning so no harm done
They were actually quite lovely, pale with papery skins which were easy to remove after cooking (if you wanted to)
Good luck with BeeTee. Hope they get you up and running soon....Sealed Pot Challenge #012

Little Sweetie how lovely - I'm so sorry I wasn't about to tell you that most slug pellets are pretty harmless but well done for giving them a good wash.
New tatties by early June. How delish and clever of you.
Waves to all. Bee-Troublesome have finally done the deed of flicking the switches and we have internet. I must have missed the big party at switch on.
As this wee part of my life has become something else I shall shortly be hanging up the sign here and starting a new diary.
But here's the sum up for this dearest of diaries.
Lots of dear hearts popped in and hoorayed and cheered me on, for that I thank you all.
Lots of Credit card pennies paid and we are now CREDIT CARD free.
Quite a few bargains had, many of them cheese and lots of work on the food shopping see's us spending less most months.
Lots of recipes shared and for that I thank you too.
So many positives and more progress towards the moving (which was indeed successful and we halved the cost of the move by decluttering and selling some bits)
So lots of positives aside the fact I have lost my DD to New Zealand for three months.
So I'm going to plot and plan my new journey and will start a wee new diary to focus the noggin.
Toodle pip the now and I hope you'll join me on the next adventure, chookies, garden, husband, hounds and all.Total debt 26/4/18 <£1925 we were getting there.
Total debt as of 28/4/19 £7867.38:eek:

The first post read thus.....Pippilongstocking wrote: »OK, so I went and did it, I married my Rock God at a fantastically frugal affair last month. And I'm still grinning what fun that was there's a peek here!
The best thing is we've no debt from the wedding as we bartered/begged/borrowed/sought favours and only paid for the bare essentials
what a hoot that was. So many friends to thank.
Now that the confetti has settled, we still live our everyday lives 300 miles apart (I'm on a very windy island in the north and he's in central), but for the next adventure, early next summer we head down to join Mr Rock God and begin to look for a mini-castle in the country to have chooks and adventures. (7 months and counting)
The final stripey youngling flees the homestead for Uni and I'll also be essentially, child free. As a single parent of about 100 years, this signifies a big change for me. But I have to find money for uni for them as they'll only be entitled to the minimum support when I move.
So I work hard (self employed and employed) and with the help we've had on here we've moved the debts down from £35k to just under £20K (give or take a tweak or two)
We live frugally, cook from scratch most days and endeavour to get the last drop out of everything, however there's always room for improvement.
Before we head off to join Mr RG, help him get his flat sold and look for a castle suitable to house both Rock Gods AND chooks, we need to
Clear £5k of credit card debts
Clear our habit of using overdrafts to live (£1000 each, 2 accounts)
Clear a 0% debt to an old chum (£1500)
AND
Try and save a bit for the bit where I might not have a job.
Where you've got a reasonably full store cupboard, a fine pair of wellingtons and a penchant for chooks in your life - there's a way.
:A
So I didn't save up, I paid off my debts instead. And, whilst I don't have a 'new job' I have my old job (1 day a week) and I'm still self-employed chief nonsense maker at large.
Credit cards are clear we've managed to pay £5k in 7 months due to meal planning etc. :T
Overdrafts need tackled next
I paid £950 off the chum so we only owe them £550 now, that's still interest free.
We finished the car payments 2 months early so the cars completely paid too
Without you lot where would I be?
Thanks so much for all your help to keep me focussed and on the straight and narrow. :A
Onwards to new adventures.
Debts stand at <£2.5k (overdrafts and interest free loan) without the student loan (£14k)
But hey we're definitely Sub £20K for the first time in a long time.Total debt 26/4/18 <£1925 we were getting there.

So long, farewell and thanks for all the (reduced) cheese. (and the cheering you lovely lot)
New diary here dear hearts I do hope you pop by when you're free.
Off to find some chicken wire as its time to get that chook run sorted now that the rain is off.Total debt 26/4/18 <£1925 we were getting there.
