Am I being stupid or something?

In the OP it was mentioned by The Deep about him GETTING a PPC to "manage" the car park. Yet in post #26 he talks about being concerned about having to display a permit and maybe getting a ticket.

Aren't they opposite sides of the same discussion?

As the problem parkers are all either residents or their visitors if the Residents' Association unanimously decides that they will fine one another for inconsiderate parking then your scheme might work. However it only needs one refusenik to scupper the whole thing.

This situation sounds like the common resentment between those who own their flats who are always kind & considerate regarding their parking and fly by night tenants renting properties who don't give a toss about where they park or who they inconvenience.

Lots of discussion on this specific topic on PePiPoo right now - just watch out for the meringues, the riff-raff and the upmarket tenants.

Which would be ironic given The Deep stated this :

"in a block of flats in which I have an investment property"

One questions how much of a problem it really is. Has The Deep's tenant complained to him / her ? Or is it just The Deep couldn't park on the very odd occasion they visited their investment property ?

We have the same problem at our flats, the houses around the block think it is for there use and the flat residents have to park elsewhere. The management co was going to do the same as the op is but the residents did not want to go taking photos of the offending vehicles. They have now found a company who will issue the flats with 2 permits each and they will regularly patrol the car park and issue the offenders with charges. There are already signs saying the car park is for flat residents only but the new signs will state a permit must be shown. Will it work ?,i don;t know but i know the residents are peed off with not being able to park in there rightful places.

Not half as peed off as when they start getting NtDs/NtKs and having months of hassle trying to rid themselves of the charges.

Has anyone factored that into the decision making process?
