Seeing your partner once a week

Options
Just a quick question, do you think that you can have a fulfilling relationship with someone if you only see them once a week?

Not meaning to nit pick but I can't see how you can describe someone you only see once a week as a partner .

I think it depends entirely on what you want out of a relationship and what the two of you consider to be 'fulfilling'.

Well, it depends on why you only see them once a week. I only see my husband for about 6 or 7 weeks a year at the moment. He is touring worldwide, but we speak multiple times a day, we Skype, we communicate more than when he's here.

We might not see each other but we are very much married.

Depends if there is any other communication or not, and as others have said the reason.
If you chat in other ways as well as see them once a week then i would say yes.

I also think you need to consider the future. Is once a week long term/ permanent and sustainable for you emotionally?

Hubby and I both had own homes when we met and saw each other on a Friday night to start with and then a Sat night too.

This lasted 6 years and we were both happy. We're both very independant and have our own circles of friends etc so were often busy anyway.

We did have holidays together and would occasionally say 'fancy a meal on Wed' but not often at all.
Forty and fabulous, well that's what my cards say....

when i met my oh we were living 120 miles apart ,we saw each other once a fortnight . we have been married 20 years now !

I think it depends on the reasons as to whether it will work.

  • What's once a week?

Is it for an hour once a week, an evening or a weekend?

My now husband lived some distance away when we first met so we only saw each other at weekends. That wasn't enough.
