Morning All
Had a bad night with neighbour problems, which are continuing this morning. Screaming arguments and loud music etcI am so sick of this.
I don't really talk about it much on here, but it really is a horrible environment to live next to. *sigh*. Sorry, i'll stop moaning about it now, I am just trying to focus my concentration on why I am saving so hard, to move house. It'll be worth it in the end.
Today we are not up to much really, just dossing about the house and catching up with housework.
I am pricing up some furniture that I want (after I have moved obviously) so I think it'll help to make plans for the future.0 -
Noisy neighbours must be a nightmare but hopefully for not much longer. Your savings will have reached £2000 in the not too distant future so at least you can see an end to it. Congratulations on your new MSe badge - I hadn't noticed it before.0

Thanks organic wanabe
I have just realised that my goal is just over a month away! I still have to save £1000 in order to reach it, so I am planning a tight month! Less junk food will lower the shopping budget, and also help with the weight loss. I think it'll also help when the kids go back to school next week, as they eat so much! Especially the teenager. I never mind them eating so much, obviously, as neither of them have weight or health problems, but it can get very expensive!0 -

I sympathise with you. I've had nightmare neighbours myself, and moving wasn't an option for me. Fortunately they didn't stay long, but while they were there, I suffered sleep deprivation.Eco Miser

Thanks EM
It's really horrible to live next door to, and I am really looking forward to getting away from it all.
It's a shame that I will have to give up my council house in order to get away from it, but to be able to get a good nights sleep every night will be more than worth it.
Back to work for me today, but it's an easy day as I am only working 9.30-12.30
Both of the children are still asleep in bed, I think they'll have a shock getting back into the normal 7am wake up time as from tomorrow.
Have a lovely day everyone!0 -
Since I became deft free last year I have considered myself quite good with money. I thought I knew where every penny was going, and was saving the most that I could.
Anyway, I REALLY want to take the kids on holiday this year (either August or October) so spent the afternoon going through my bank statements to see where I could make some savings.
To my absolute HORROR, I discovered I have been spending £40 a WEEK (!!) on trips to Tesco to get bread/milk! I come away with junk food like chocolate, crisps and wine etc!!!
I have worked out that there are 14 weeks until August, and if I saved £40 for those 14 weeks, I would have £560 to put towards a holiday.
So, I have decided that as from this second, I will only enter a super market once a week (or do an online shop instead).
I am gobsmacked and so embarrassed! please don't anyone moan at me or make me feel worse0 -
OK, so I have a savings plan!
I will save the rest of my £2K by the end of May, this is my goal and it will be reached, no matter what.
After that, my plan is to save another £2-3K before August, so that I can get a last minute deal for me and the boys to go away somewhere hot and sunny for a week.
Then it'll be time to start house hunting!0 -
That's a plan.
You can save maybe £200 by cutting back on Tesco, leaving you around £750 to find over 5 weeks - £150 a week.
Good luck with that.

I think we all deserve a holiday after a tough few years financially.
We need to escape for a week, somewhere hot and sunny would be lovely!0 -
I do better if I don't go to the supermarket in person - my sweet tooth totally gets the better of me while I am there. It's better to order online, that way you can actually stick to a list pretty easily.0
