Morning all! WantToBeSE, I'm also trying to lose a stone or thereabouts, and have joined this lot: http://www.myfitnesspal.com. It is a (free) online food and exercise diary, with space to do a mini-blog if you want to. There are lots of similar ones round on the net. I've also set up a paper graph where I can mark what I weigh so I can keep track over time. Not plugging these things per se, but they might also help you? ...0

Morning All, just a quickie before work: I have lost 2lbs! So I am now exactly 1st away from my goal
Munching on lots of raw veggies and pleased with myself. As long as I lose at least 1lb a week, I will be a happy bunny!0 -
Sounds great! Well done on the 2lb loss!
I have no inclination to lose weight, because my one great love in life is good. I just could never restrict it! Haha willpower of a gnat! I do eat fairly healthily though.

Oh I am really struggling with wanting to spend money at the moment. I don't really know why, but I just want to spend spend spend. I haven't, but the urge is still there.
However, I want to save more than I want to spend, so that is keeping me on the straight and narrow. I am still keeping in mind my goal for £2k by the end of next month.0 -
DO NOT SPEND!! DO NOT SPEND!!!
Sorry, that's not very helpful is it?
Just think I your boys' faces when they see their new house, new bedroom and they can get a good night's sleep without annoying neighbours! I usually find something that tugs on the heart strings helps to pull me back from the brink of spending.
Have you a good day planned? I've had to take at least the morning off work because we think the little one either has chicken pox of a viral rash but the childminder won't take him in case it's pox. I'm going to take him to the doctors this morning and if it's not pox, I'll take him to the childminders and head to work.CC1: £4481.14/ £5031.14 (12% paid off, £600) | CC2:£3307/ £3807 (14.4% paid off, £550) | Loan: £10,528.20/ £15,792.30((33% paid off, £5,264))

Hiy WTBSE, fab weight loss - I need to really start losing weight but I just don't seem to have the motivation at the moment - it's awful. My head wants a slimmer me but my hands and mouth keep defying it by eating fatty stuff. Argh!
JoJoC made a good point there to think about the new house etc - I might employ that idea myself, but thinking about the new building workApril 2021 Grocery Challenge 34.29 / 2500 -

Hi Tatty, I was thinking about you yesterday and thinking I hadn't seen you for a while. Hope you're not suffering too much with the medical things that you're going through just now.
Hopefully we can all find ways to motivate ourselves with savings and any weight loss goals Shortie!CC1: £4481.14/ £5031.14 (12% paid off, £600) | CC2:£3307/ £3807 (14.4% paid off, £550) | Loan: £10,528.20/ £15,792.30((33% paid off, £5,264))

Good afternoon All, from a sunny Cornwall
So, I managed to resist any temptation and haven't spent anything. It seems like a daily battle at the moment though.
I am sitting down to write my weekly budget and meal plan tonight. I have £15 off a £110 shop with Tesco and a £15 off a £100 shop with Tesco. However, I still prefer to stick to Aldi and Morrisons. I wish Morrisons did delivery in this area!
I should be getting about £280 from the agency this week and hope to save £130 of that. But we'll see.
My mum still isn't well. She has been in and out of hospital having scans for this lump on her ovary. Its a very large one, about the size of a graprefruit, and they want to check its not attached to anything. But she goes in to have ANOTHER CT scan on Monday. We are just all keeping our fingers crossed for her. Its a worrying time really.0
